Public Bar

Review: We were visiting DC and on the night of Jan 19th, 2013 we went to Public Bar where we paid for coat check. At the end of the night, [redacted] gave me someone else's coat. She allowed me to check the coat room and my coat was not there. I lost a Hugo Boss coat (valued ~$700 but do not have receipt) which contained my house keys including a key fob (costs $35 to replace), work keys, and also glasses I recently purchased for $335 (used up my complete optical benefit so will have to re-order; I have the receipt but thankfully they are only charging $285 for a repeat order).The next day, I spoke to [redacted] (manager) and he said if no one returned the coat by Sunday, they would reimburse me as it was their fault. He asked for a list of items and contact information. No one returned my coat before I left back to [redacted] Monday morning and [redacted] said that he would call me back after a managers meeting Tuesday. He did not follow up and I called and repeatedly emailed [redacted] since with very limited responses if any. After a few weeks, I was told that [redacted] (operations chief I believe) is who would finalize the reimbursement amount. However he did not return emails or call me, after which only with a threat to file a Revdex.com complaint did he even respond. He called once without notice and I called back in 2 hours after work meetings with no response. The following day (today 2/14), I was now told that he has to discuss with the owner even though previously was told he would solve the issue. For a situation that has a simple solution of reasonably reimbursing me, this process has been very frustrating and I still have not been told how much they will reimburse me and when they will send a check to me. This is being handled in an extremely unprofessional manner as most of my emails and calls have been ignored and [redacted] and John often refuse to speak to me directly. I have emails confirming that they have acknowledged the issue and would be happy to forward those.Desired Settlement: As described above, the cost of the jacket, glasses, and key fob total almost $1100. I understand there has been a decrease in value of the jacket since it is a few years old and would like at least $800, especially since this process has been long winded, unprofessional, and has significantly inconvenienced me (coat shopping, order and retrieve new glasses, emails without responses, given varying information, calls without answer or where the managers refuse to talk to me directly)
