Puckett's Collision Center Reviews (3)

I did not address the paint issue in my prior response because it was not brought up.  The customer was not happy because his left door did not match the rest of the vehicle and wanted to know why we did not match the factory paint.  1.  We did not paint any portion of the left side of his vehicle. 2. This vehicle had been painted prior to the customer owning the vehicle and the only factory paint was inside the doors on the door jams. 3. We did buff the left fender free of charge because there was a run in the paint from the previous paint work not performed by our shop.  We did not use a headlamp from Toyota because that was part of the accident portion of the repairs and the insurance company dictated that we use an aftermarket headlamp.  We had to replace the back window and that glass was purchased from NAG which also supplies the local dealerships. The bumper and the fender are also aftermarket as dictated by the insurance company because once again, this was part of the accident, not the additional work Mr. [redacted] requested be done.  I have seven invoices from the Toyota dealership for all of the parts for the additional work.  We have been in business for 44 years and if performed substandard work this would not be the case.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Ms. [redacted] stating that I never brought up the paint match issue is 100% false. I told her that I was unhappy with the paint match at our first meeting. She acknowledges the different color in the door jams. That would have prompted me (if I were repairing/repainting a major portion of a vehicle) to either use the factory paint code or, at least, notify the customer and give them the opportunity to decide. Instead, she took it upon herself to make the decision for me to not match the factory paint.  The situation that I find myself in is that the paint is poorly matched, the fitment is way off on the bumper and wheel well shield, I asked for factory replacement parts and was never told that USAA would not cover them, even the parts that I paid out of pocket were aftermarket (factory parts were requested), and they damaged the paint installing the back glass.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

There were some items that needed addresses on the customer’s vehicle and we were completely willing to correct them.  I responded to the customer’s complaint via email and listed in detail the items I wanted to fix for him and the price to fix some additional things he wanted addressed that...

were not part of the accident.  His response was that he did not want us to correct the work that had been done, he just wanted a refund.  I found this unacceptable.  The customer also feels like we did not use Toyota parts but we in fact did and have the receipts.  In response to his second opinions, the other body shops he had look at his vehicle saw it after the fact and did not have a good point of reference.   If you would like further details I will be glad to address them.   Thank you, [redacted] John Puckett’s Auto Collision of Edmond
