TOTALLY INCOMPETENT
I have no idea how they are allowed to continue to operate. This is the most incompetent organization I've ever encountered. For 6 months I have been trying to get my Home Energy application through but as with others, my application always seems to have something "missing" I send the requested materials and several weeks later I am told the application is incomplete due to missing information. After the additional requested information is sent another several weeks ago by and I get another letter stating that I have "missing information" The state needs to step in an investigate WHY this is happening. Something very strange is going on!

Disabled household attempting for over 3 weeks now to have an emergency pipe repair so we may have heat. The weatherization department was nasty and keeps giving the run around. I don't know why I was referred to this department to begin with as this has nothing to do with lengthy home weatherization improvement, but with an emergency repair. I was given the information to contact LIHEAP from a rep whom I'd spoken to last February regarding emergency oil. I was told there was a 1,500 stipend for heating system repair emergencies should I need. I know beggars can't be choosers but I do not appreciate the treatment, the nastiness, being treated as though I am a it, etc., all for just wanting heat.

I will do everything in a legal manner to help all the people who have written in about the corruption at the Puerto Rican Action Board. I can not see poor , elderly , sick , disabled people be riddled with mass corruption and fraud. Thus far I can see that there are mass coverups on the State level. Perhaps the US attorney's Office will find out where the stolen funds have gone. Please see the Star Ledger Article dated October 28,2016.

I noticed that this was from some time ago. Do you know where I can go to file complaint against this organization? Any information would gladly be appreciated.

Review: The Puerto Rican Action Board (PRAB) is clearly the most inefficiently run agency in Middlesex county and quite probably in the entire state.

Speaking from personal experience, the office appears to revel in setting up every obstacle to prevent an applicant from acquiring assistance with their utility bills and/or heating assistance.

In the past upon mailing documentation in (a mistake) they will always find something 'missing'. Since then I have taken to personally delivering the required information to the (main) New Brunswick office. Apparently other applicants have had similar experiences to my own as the office is never without long lines. I have been there one time where heating devices were set up outside since the line was down the street outside the building.

There is turnover of employees too as a supervisor ([redacted]) I had dealt with in the past is no longer there.

On another instance, while dropping off documentation an employee retained my social security card.

And just today, November 17, 2015, while receiving a call back (after trying yesterday and letting the phone ring nearly 20 times with no pickup and deciding to call the Perth Amboy office where at least I was able to leave a voice mail) to inquire about the status for my USF benefit, which was dropped off in the New Brunswick office on September 11, 2015, I was told by the lady who called "it is still being processed."

I informed her that I phoned a week and a half ago to check (actually it was on October 30 , 2015) at which point I was told by a gentleman there that they were up to September 9 applications. Her response was "it takes a long time". My comment was: "it is supposed to kick in in December and we are getting close" to which she said: "if it is not processed then you won't receive it." I mentioned I would call to check next week.

It is just a further example of the inefficiencies of how this travesty of an office does not run when after more than TWO MONTHS an application is still unprocessed.

The fact that in the course of nearly two weeks worth of working days PRAB has not moved beyond two DAYS of applications submitted is proof positive that a revamping of PRAB take place.Desired Settlement: Process my application!

This has been my situation for 8 years now I am disabled and every year they almost make me lose my prab help it is Jan 2018 and I applied oct now they sent me a letter saying I have 10 days to send a missing document or else I am going to lose my help its Friday the week end and Monday a Holiday No offense to anyone but I am totally convinced they should not be handling these matter as I witnessed my self down in New Brunswick them sending white people and black people away I am now going to legal aid for help if you call 732-828-4510 their letter head number they wont put your call through and tell you to leave a message then the machine tells you it is unable to take a message it is full I don't know how they are getting away with this but hopefully it will pass from their hands as for me I am seeking a legal help from this 8 yr happing its crazy to go through this year after year and nothing is done this should go to the NEWS

I also paseed from same experience ... first they asked me food stamp letter I personally give it to them ... then they said pseg last bill bottom stub ... I dont understand why they need this... I went to pseg office and asked new copy bill second time personally dropped there... totally ineffective... they have no positive approval attitude... just wasting time no system to check status... always answering ... 3 months waiting winter finish ... 1 document next 2 months again something else one more month finally no answer...
