The father of *** *** contacted our office to see if we could assist him with his daughter ***'s income tax and social security problems. I informed Mr*** that we do not provide legal services but that we would be willing to see if we could be of assistance. I
contacted *** regarding these two matters. She stated that she did not need assistance with the tax problem because she understood her liability. She stated that she did need assistance with her social security problem and forwarded the necessary paperwork for our office to be able to contact social security on her behalf. That request was forwarded to Social Security administration by our office and we received a response no less than two months later. We contacted Social Security Administration to find that ***'s social security problem began in 2002. The Social Security Administration forwarded correspondence to *** dating as far back as and as recent as The correspondence in provided a detailed explanation of the problem and four pages of instructions for actions she had the right to take to rectify her situation. According to the Social Security Administration those actions were never taken. Throughout the course of discovery, learning what the social security issues were for this client, to see if there would be any further service our office could provide, we were in contact in some instances with ***, but in other instances with her father. In fact, there was no further service for our office to provide as the issues were legal in nature and many years after the fact. No bill was rendered to this client. If *** *** "lost thousands of dollars" it is because she neglected to respond to the many inquiries from the Social Security Administration since 2004. In respect of her privacy I will not detail the nature of those inquiries. It is egregious for this client to claim that our office acted unethically. I took the time to uncover the root of ***'s Social Security issue and inform her of that information, I advised her father that it was a legal matter that we are not able to pursue on his daughter's behalf because we are not attorneys, and we did not charge or collect a fee for this assistance. It is ludicrous for *** to accuse our business of race issues and a clear indication that she has never visited our office. Her father is our client, and one of many clients with a broad range of ethnic backgrounds
