Punch Honeybee Company came to my home the day I called to provide a quote on relocating a hive that was UNDER our shed. He took thermal pictures, found the hive, and shared the process for how they would safely remove the hive. Given the timing of the year, they were tied up with the Fair, but Dan, the owner, assured me that the hive was stable and settled, and that we wouldn't have to worry about them behaving erratically. Dan arrived a week later, and it took about 3 hours to remove the hive. On top of removing the hive, the company also shored up the holes around the base of our shed (Tuff shed - very common) and filled the place where the hive was located with gravel, to ensure the bees wouldn't come back. He gave us his recommendation for how to seal up where the base of the shed meets the ground, as well. The added bonus for us was all the honey the hive had started creating! Dan harvested the honeycomb for us, and told me how to extract it - even provided instructions on the invoice. He took pictures of the process and shared them with me. My kids were very curious about the hive, so it became a great learning moment for them!
The quote was fair and reasonable - even less expensive than exterminating the hive. I would recommend this company again, and should we get another hive, I will definitely call them back!
I recently acquired some honey from the Punch honeybee company. I am interested in doing whatever I can to ensure that there is an earth for my children to inhabit. Therefore, I was pleased to learn that this honey comes from rescued bees and is also from bees that pollinate our plants here in AZ. I used the honey to make a chicken, ginger and soy sauce dinner and it was very tasty. While cooking, I did lick the spoon that I had used to get the honey and the pure, sweet taste was divine. I hope this company continues to be successful and this product will be readily available.
As a side note, taking honey from bees that are from the area you live in, may help with allergies. Look it up.
