This company sold me a sick dog. In my written contract they promise to pay for any/all medical care and medication involved in selling me a sick dog.I have fulfilled my obligations under my written contract in able to get reimbursed for any medications involved in the treatment of the sick puppy that was sold to me. I have complied with the terms of the contract but can not get any return correspondence when trying to contact this company regarding my reimbursement for medications as stated in my written contract.Desired SettlementI want them to honor the contract they wrote. I want reimbursement in the amount of $382.00 for the costs of treatment for the sick puppy that was sold to me on May 02, 2014.Business Response I do honor my warranty and matter settled with a paymentConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)After many many attempts (over 100 phone calls and several faxes of the medical bills) I did receive a portion of my dogs medical bills. As far as I am concerned this company still owes me money and has failed to make any attempt to settle with full payment of what was supposed to be covered under the terms of their warranty. My dog has permanent affects from the illness suffered caused by this company. The same company that said they were selling me a healthy dog!Final Business Response As per our warranty, the document you signed we only reimburse for medication. We do not reimburse any of the following; vaccines, de-wormings, fecals, flea treatments, heartworm preventative, office visits, diagnostics with negative results, x-rays, and etc...We have already reimbursed you for the amount we promised at the time of purchase. I do apologize that you have not received the compensation you expected, but we have held our end of the warranty, a warranty you read and signed.

Hello,Thank you for taking the time to review my Revdex.com complaint.I purchased a Labrador Retriever from Puppies Plus in Reno, NV on February 13, 2016. Over the course of 72 hours, the puppy displayed signs of medical distress: difficulty breathing and lethargy, which progressively got worse. On February 16, 2016, the puppy was taken to the Animal Emergency Center in Reno where she was diagnosed with Acute respiratory distress and Pneumonia. The vet, [redacted]n, DVM, stated the puppy's medical condition did not develop over 72 hours and concluded the puppy had been unfit for sale and should have been treated medically prior to February 13, 2016. Furthermore, Dr. Nelson stated the inoculation/vaccination report was likely falsified and once fit, the puppy would need all vaccinations administered. The puppy was taken to [redacted] in Reno for a follow up visit with [redacted] on February 23, 2016. [redacted] confirmed [redacted] findings and prescribed additional medication. Both vets overwhelmingly agreed the puppy was very sick and had been unfit for sale on February 13, 2016. Additionally, the illness was contagious and the other animals at Puppy Plus would have been exposed to the same contagions. I request a full refund of the following amounts:Cost of the puppy - $1,765.82 Animal Emergency Center - $405.96[redacted] - $205.52Total - $2,377.30Regards,John DuttProduct_Or_Service: Labrador RetrieverDesired SettlementI request a full refund for the following:Cost of the puppy - $1,765.82 [redacted] - $405.96[redacted] - $205.52Total - $2,377.30I have invested a great deal of time and money to nurse this animal back to health, therefore a "return" is out of the question. A full refund is the only resolution I will accept.Regards,[redacted]Business Response Dear [redacted], I would personally like to apologize for the inconvenience this incident has caused you, but this is the first time I have heard of this since you had purchased the puppy just over a month ago. As per our warranty conditions, one that I went over with you personally it states you must go to "[redacted]" within 3 business days of your purchase otherwise the warranty would be null and void. Not only did you void the warranty but I have never heard from you once regarding this issue nor have I seen a single invoice. Regardless of that I do wish to re-inform you that you did so willingly and of our own accord finance the puppy and therefor any reimbursements or refunds must go through "[redacted] Lending" and not us since you did not "pay" for the puppy. If you need copies of your contract or would like to contact wags please visit their website, [redacted] Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Respectfully, there have been several attempts to reach you by phone and by email. A quick glance at your websites email, would provide a more clear picture of the number of attempts made to reach you. As for the phone calls, every attempt we made to reach you by phone went unanswered as you do not have a working answering machine in place.I would like to pint out a few more things that are relevant:1 - The puppy was purchased on a Saturday afternoon before a long weekend. During that time frame, the puppy was laboring in its breathing. A call was made to "[redacted]" and their answering service referred us to the [redacted]. The puppy was seen and was diagnosed with Pneumonia by a vet that was referred by [redacted]. This can all be verified by [redacted].2 - We have called [redacted] and we are currently working with them for reimbursement of the vet fees. But, this does not relieve you from your obligation to provide healthy animals to to your customers.3 - We have been told by the Vet, that this puppy was not fit to be sold because of the severity of the illness and the rapid decline health that was being experienced. In closing, we followed the "warranty" procedures to the letter. We are not at fault here and your attempt to misplace the negligence is unacceptable.I expect a full refund.Regards[redacted]Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)[redacted] has referred me to you. Since you have already received the payment from WAGS, you are responsible. You act as you have no accountability. As a retailer, you have an obligation to your customers. If we need to involve attorneys at this point we can. Final Business Response If you return the puppy back to us than we will give you a full refund.

We purchased a male Cavalier King Charles puppy on July 17, 2015. He was coughing the next day on the 18th. We took him to [redacted] Vet, Puppies Plus required first vet visit at the first available appointment on Mon., July 20th. He was diagnosed with kennel cough and later with giardia. We were told it could be 6-8 weeks for him to get better and he was given antibiotics. On Sun, July 26, our adult dog was coughing and was taken to another vet. He was infected w/ kennel cough from the puppy. We were told that the puppy should have been given chest x-rays at the first vet visit because dogs that small are very susceptible to pneumonia. We took the puppy in on July 27 and he had x-rays which confirmed that the kennel cough had progressed to pneumonia. He was given IV fluids and antibiotics. He was treated for pneumonia on July 27, 28 and 29th. During the middle of the night on Aug 7th, our puppy started crying out in pain and we rushed him to the emergency vet where his pneumonia was cared for until the vet closed in the morning and at that time he was transferred on oxygen to another vet where he died from complications of pneumonia. We are so heartbroken and we did everything we could to try to save him. Puppies plus warranty states that in some conditions they will replace the puppy with another puppy; however, we have learned that at least one (possible two) other puppies purchased around the same time were also being treated for pneumonia another (at least one) had kennel cough and yet another was just diagnosed with parvovirus. We believe that Puppies Plus is knowingly selling sick puppies and we are not interested in getting another sick dog from this business. We sent a demand letter to them via certified mail on August 11th asking for $4,082.81 which was detailed and included receipts of all expenses related to our purchase and treating our sweet puppy along with treatment for our adult dog who is still sick as of today, 8/14/15.Product_Or_Service: Cavalier King Charles puppyDesired SettlementWe are asking for a refund of the purchase price of the puppy which was $1,831.27 along with all other vet bills related to treating our Cavalier King Charles puppy which total $3,943.27. Additionally, we are asking Puppies Plus to pay for the bills to treat our adult dog who was infected by the puppy. His bills equal $139.54 as of today, 8/14/15; although he is still being treated. The total amount we are demanding is $4,082.81.Business Response I do apologize for this entire matter. You have received what the law says. maybe we can come to some type of agreement. on the otherConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This business owner has NEVER once tried to contact me and has not given me ANYTHING to resolve this matter. I have not heard from him at all including any calls or written notification, nor have I received anything from him. I'm not sure how he considers this resolved. I did file a complaint with the credit card company that the puppy was purchased on and that company is still doing an investigation.Final Business Response Again I am sorry for the loss of your pet, however we did follow what the law and our warranty states. We did say we can come to an agreement, but I have yet to hear from you. I am sorry to hear that your other dog had caught kennel cough, but I will not reimburse for any of those costs. Bordetella should always be given either yearly or every 6 months, regardless if you board or not. I'm not sure if your adult dog was vaccinated for it but either way when bringing a new dog home you should always be cautious, that is your neglect not ours. We do not knowingly sell sick puppies, our puppies can be a-symptomatic which means they are not showing any symptoms. Sometimes going to a new home can stress a dog out, which lowers their immune system and cause the kennel cough that's hibernating in their system to flare up. If we did not mention this, than that I do apologize for. But either way we did follow our warranty and LAW to the T. Legally we are not responsible for anything more, but I did say I would be willing to work with you. If you are still interested in resolving this manner I'm sure we could compromise, however if you are unwilling to compromise than I do see this matter as resolved.

Great place. Bought a male cavalier king Charles a few weeks back and he is great. Very healthy and they do honor their warranty.","pos-1

I recently bought a new puppy at puppies plus. My puppy is a 10 week old husky and she has been extremely sick since we got her. My vet has now concluded that she has giardia and possible kennel cough. As I have now seen from the [redacted] complaints that I am not the only one. My puppy got sick from the store for sure and now others are sick. Though the manager says he checks the puppies I do not believe him because of how many sick animals there are from that store. When I called he argued with me and tried to lie about the pets. I'm so concerned about the well being of all these animals as my vet has concluded that my puppy is unfit for sale. There are so many other families getting sucked in to buying sick puppies. Please help this place to stop selling over priced sick puppies. Families should be given refunds or discounts for having to care for sick animals right after buying them.Product_Or_Service: Puppy Desired SettlementI want others to realize how this place is just benefiting from making a quick buck and not actually concerning about the pets they are selling. More will get sick and families are going to be stuck with huge vet bills. I know that other puppies plus businesses have been shut down and I'm sure there's enough complaints that this one should be as well. For the well being of the animals and for the family's this place should no longer be in business. Business Response I do apologize that you are unhappy with the Siberian Husky you purchased and are now having to deal with Giardia and possibly kennel cough. I want to assure you that all the puppies are well taken care of and individually checked daily by either the manager who has been a Veterinary Technician for about 14 years now and is now earning a pre-veterinary degree to become a Veterinarian or another member of the staff when he is off. I do understand your frustration, and although each puppy is individually checked daily, they are also checked weekly by an outside veterinarian, not all ailments show symptoms right away. Illnesses can occur when you buy a living animal and such is the same when you adopt or dog, give birth to a child, or even adopt a child. These are the chances you take when you become responsible for another living being as you did not get a lamp or a pair of shoes. I mean would you call yourself a bad parent if your child or puppy got sick while under your care? As I said before, we do understand your frustration and while there is no evidence that the puppy got giardia from the store, it is a possibility which is why we do have a warranty which every customer who buys a puppy from us is required to sign prior to leaving with the puppy. As part of the warranty you singed you acknowledged there are no refunds or returns, however if you would still like a refund than it would have to go through the owner of the store and you would be required to relinquish the puppy back to the store.

I purchased a Newfoundland puppy, AKC registered as a purebread. The dog is NOT purebread! She is very ill with kennel cough, 4 types of parasites I was sold a purebread Newfoundland but it turns out she is not purebread. She has been sick since I've had her and has almost died three times. She is chronically Ill and with continual veterinary care she continues to have diarrhea as an ongoing result of 4 types of paracites and permanent damage to her intestines and colon. She has poor behaviors, which are all in allignment with a puppy mill dog. As it turns out she is in fact a puppy mill dog who was falsely advertised as an AKC purebred Newfoundland. The owner [redacted] engaged in racketeering which is illegal in addition to a false bill of sale. The documents that were signed indicated it that I must take my dog to his vet within the first three days of purchase. I did however that is racketeering and one should be able to see any vet they so choose also under Nevada law. The required vet is at [redacted] veterinarian hospital and the vet is in bed with the owner of puppies plus. He did not thoroughly evaluate the health of my dying puppy. I then took my dog to my veterinarian a few days later where they identified that my puppy had kennel cough a virus from the location, parasites, she was amaciated and needed frequent supervision and monitoring. There are many illegal things going on there and something needs to change as innocent lives are being taken and consumers are being robbed and sold false bills of sale along with fraudulent behavior. Desired SettlementWant reimbursement for all costs associated with the sale of the dog, all vet bills, restitution for the dog and all dog training covered. Most importantly I want this terrible business shut down for fraud and animal cruelty!Business Response She has been contacted several times to resolve this issue, including at the county commissioners meeting in Reno, NN a few weeks ago. She has refused to reply back to us to resolve this issue.

I purchased a female Yorkshire Terrier Puppy for $1,939.00 from Puppies Plus in Reno on 9/3/2013 and what I got for my money was a sick puppy. [redacted], the owner of the store said I could use Baring Blvd. Veterinarian's for my 3-day puppy check. The puppy had an infection at her microchipping site which caused an abscess and the microchip to be forced out of the puppy through a hole at the infection site. I had to purchase and administer two rounds of antibiotics because the infection would not clear up as well as do hot compresses to the wound area 3 times a day for 3 weeks.Additionally, the fecal test completed by Baring Blvd. Vets showed the puppy to have both the Giardia and Coccidia parasites. I called Mike Schneider on 9/6 and told him about the infection. I called him again on 9/9 and told him about the results of the fecal test. I asked him if I could bring the puppy back for a refund and he said no. He told me to come to him and he would give me antibiotics and parasite medication to treat the puppy with. I told him I would rather have a veterinarian treat her and not a store owner. Per Baring Vets, she may never be cured of the Giardia as she is a chronic carrier of the parasite. The next step is to quarantine her in a metabollic cage to try to get rid of the parasite. I requested a partial reimbursement on 12/31/13 and provided him with a complete medical history. I am still waiting to hear back from him and his vet. Please call me for further info. and details. Also, Veronica at Baring lvd. vets said they have treated several sick puppies from this store including parvo, kennel cough, pneumonia and Giardia. Something needs to be done to stop these stores from selling sick puppies. Thank You!Product_Or_Service: Yorkshire Terrier PuppyDesired SettlementCosts to date:$1,939.00 - Purchase price 490.81 - Vet bills 350.00 - Estimate for Metabollic Quarantine$2,779.81Request reimbursement of $1,389 which is half of the total costs to date. I will pay for any additional vet bills not included above.A copy of all vet bills has been provided to Mike Schneider and can be provided to the Revdex.com upon request.Final Consumer Response To [redacted]:I met with [redacted] at PuppiesPlus on 2/6/14 to discuss a resolution. We reviewed all vet bills and agreed upon a reimbursement amount of $346.96. He issued me a check today for that amount. Even though I would NEVER purchase a puppy from his business again, I am considering this situation resolved. I will be responsible for any future vet bills for this puppy.Thank You. [redacted]

On 5/22/2016 I purchased a boxer puppy from Puppies Plus. The puppy immediately began to show signs of illness so I took it to [redacted] on 5/24/2016 where he was diagnosed with canine parvovirus. Puppies Plus was immediately notified of this diagnosis by me and by the [redacted] via fax. Store manager claimed that this boxer puppy was previously sold to a different family then returned and that he probably got the virus there. Which poses an even bigger issue then, because they took back a puppy who was outside and put it back in kennels with other puppies without being checked.I elected to keep the puppy at [redacted] Animal Hospital for proper treatment. Puppies Plus owner, [redacted], claimed he would pay for the treatment and requested I send him all invoices when available. After 10 days of treatment, and at a cost of about four times the cost of the puppy, he finally recovered from parvovirus. I faxed all invoices to Puppies Plus as requested. No response was received from anyone at Puppies Plus, or from [redacted]. I followed up multiple times with phone calls but was given the run around. "The owner will call you back", "the manager is out of the office right now", to finally "The manager doesn't want to talk to you".The incubation period for canine parvovirus, compared to the clean bill of health this puppy was given from its breeder prior to arriving at Puppies Plus indicates that this puppy was exposed to and contracted parvovirus at the Puppies Plus store. Puppies Plus knowingly sold me a sick puppy, and they are continuously doing so to other customers as canine parvovirus will remain infectious on any surface for two years. The Puppies Plus store is contaminated.Puppies Plus is in continuous violation of Nevada statute NRS 574.490, as well as Nevada statute NRS 574.510 I sent them a certified letter requesting reimbursement for the cost of the puppy per NRS 574.490, which they signed for and received, but they continue to ignoreProduct_Or_Service: Boxer PuppyOrder_Number: Reference # [redacted]Account_Number: N/ADesired SettlementAs per Nevada Statute NRS 574.490 I am requesting an immediate refund of the total purchase price of said boxer puppy. The total dollar amount being: $2,073.62.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: 7758527600Contact Email: [email protected] am very sorry for the issue that had conspired between us. I did want to inform you that it is not that the manager did not want to talk to you, it is that since you were making threats of legal action and since the owner was handling the situation he was advised not to since there was nothing he could do except inform you that the owner would be in touch with you and he did contact you. When this first transpired we did offer to assist you by having you take your boxer puppy to the vet we use (All Creatures), you refused as you did not want to take the puppy there. The manager even offered to pick the puppy up himself and drive him to the vet we use as you would have received a fairly good discount from them and would not have been charged near the amount for treatment over the memorial weekend. You did inform us that the doctor said it was not wise to relocate the puppy but they had no problem having him relocated to the Veterinary ER only 500 feet away from us. We offered to help as much as we can but it seemed you were set on your decision and declined all help and therefor you became responsible for your own veterinary bills. As per the previous owner I am sorry that the information was not provided and he was checked by the vet 3 days before you purchased him and he was cleared as healthy. We DID NOT intentionally sell you a sick dog as we would never allow a sick puppy to go home with someone. Nature is a complex thing all living things do not always show symptoms of illness the moment it is contracted. It may takes weeks before something shows up, the moment we know a puppy may be ill we no longer have it available to go home.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The owner of Puppies Plus, [redacted], has not at any point contacted me as claimed by [redacted], the manager. I declined to take the puppy to a clinic directed by Puppies Plus as I knew it would most likely result in the death of this puppy. It is not in the interest of Puppies Plus to treat sick puppies to the fullest extent possible due to the potential cost. I elected to use [redacted], and[redacted] (located 500 feet away from Puppies Plus) so the puppy could have the 24 hour treatment necessary to have the best possible chance of recovery, which I am proud to say was a success. Puppies Plus offer to assist by covering the medical bills was soon realized to be false, as my multiple attempts to contact them via phone, fax, and certified mail were simply ignored. As of this writing I have still not received a phone call from the owner. I have documentation proving that the boxer puppy was in fact infected during his time at Puppies Plus. The incubation period for Parvovirus compared to the time this puppy became visibly ill supports this. The fact remains that Puppies Plus is in direct violation of Nevada statute NRS 574.490, and Nevada statute NRS 574.510. Puppies Plus sold me a puppy with Parvovirus and their store is infectious to all puppies that pass through. I am now, again, requesting a full refund for the cost of this puppy per NRS 574.490. Final Business Response I am no longer going to respond to your messages as you do not care to see what actually occurred and prefer to come up with your own perspective on what you believe to be true. A check was certified and mailed out to the address you provided in the legal packet you had send to us. As far as I know the certified mail was signed for last week but I will double check that with the owner. If I am correct and the owner states that the certified letter containing the check was sent and signed than I will notify the Revdex.com that this conflict was settled and will see any further messages/complaints as a form of extortion.Final Consumer Response

We bought a corgi puppy from here nearly 2 weeks ago. On the 6th day, the puppy was diagnosed with parvo from our vet. The contract states to inform the store within 24 hours if this happens within the first 7 days. I called and talked to an employee and he said the owner would call me back. I called a few more times and got the run around. I have paid $290 so far in vet fees and am requesting the store reimburse us as it is clear that the puppy was given to us sick. I have faxed papers over to the store but have not received a response. Our puppy is doing better but the vet costs have put a burden on us.Product_Or_Service: Pembroke Welsh CorgiDesired SettlementI would like payment to cover the vet costs mailed to me via check. If done I will consider this resolved.Final Consumer Response

I purchased a female Morky from Puppies Plus on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. By Saturday, she was coughing, wheezing and gagging. I brought her in to my vet on Monday, Oct. 21. The vet said she had "kennel cough" and prescribed Doxycycline for 7 days. I began treatment immediately. I also stopped in at Puppies Plus to inform them what had happened and that they should watch the other four puppies she shared a kennel with. I was told the others were fine, which didn't make any sense to me because she was sick when I bought her; she just hadn't started coughing yet. By Wednesday, she didn't seem to be any better so I brought her to my vet again. I also brought in a fecal sample to be tested to see if anything else was going on. Homatropine was prescribed for her cough and I had to fill it at a compounding pharmacy. I was up with her all night trying to make her feel better. I ran the shower on hot trying to break up the congestion. Nothing worked. The next day the vet called to say the puppy tested positive for Giardia. Again I received more medication for her. I called Puppies Plus and asked for a refund because I was so stressed at that point and was told they didn't give refunds. I informed them that they sold me a sick puppy and all I wanted was my money back. I even offered to bring in all of her special food, clothes, toys, kennel and bed to be given to her new owner when Puppies Plus got her healthy and was able to sell her to someone else. This was yesterday, Oct. 31. The owner,[redacted], told me he would call me back because he was very busy. I waited all day and didn't hear from him. I called and left a message that if I didn't hear from him by 10 am this morning I was going to contact the Revdex.com and file a complaint. I gave him until 11:00. Not a word from him. Purchase Price: $1,292.65Vet bills: $ 118.50Prescriptions: $ 70.99TOTAL: $1,482.14I just want to be able to bring her back to Puppies Plus and get a refund of the original purchase price.Product_Or_Service: Maltese mix puppyAccount_Number: Invoice [redacted]Desired SettlementI believe a refund of the original purchase price of $1,292.65 is fair. I still lose almost $200 because of her health, not to mention all the things I bought for her thinking I was going to get a healthy puppy to raise. Business Response Very old case I do believe compensation has been given a long time agoConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I agree this is a very old matter and should have been settled long ago. I have received NO compensation, contrary to what the business owner stated. No response was given after they were notified of my complaint, and I felt I was just being ignored. I believe I should be awarded the purchase price, as I stated in my original complaint...they did not stand by their product whatsoever, and did not offer to pay for anything, including the numerous vet trips and the expensive medications she needed for the kennel cough and other respiratory concerns. Again, to date, I have received no contact from the owner from the date of the original complaint!Final Consumer Response This complaint has been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of both parties.
