PurityNames.com Reviews (7)

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. Over the past three weeks I have reached out to them dozens of times via phone calls and emails in regards to our domain renewal. As another person remarked, claims go to a call center that takes messages and forwards them to Purity Names to respond by email. All calls and emails have not been returned even though the call center reassured me they would mark my messages urgent. Even after paying a renewal fee, our web domain was shut down. I was unable to transfer our website prior to them shutting it down due to them locking the domain name so I had to create a new one through a different domain. DO NOT WORK WITH PURITY NAMES.

Review: I purchased a domain name on [redacted] on August 4, 2014. [redacted] then immediately transferred my paid domain, [redacted] to Purity Names Inc.

On Aug. 4, I received an email from [redacted] stating, "The domain is now registered to you. The registrar now managing your registration is Purity Names Inc..

You will receive a confirmation email with account access information from Purity Names Inc. within 24 hours."

I have neither received an email from Purity Names Inc. nor will they respond to my repeated calls and emails.

I have called Purity Names customer support three times (###-###-####) and politely left detailed messages for Purity Names to email or call me so I can access my domain. I have sent two emails on Aug. 6 and Aug. 8 requesting access to my domain. No reply to date from Purity Names. No return email or telephone call to my polite and professional requests to obtain access to my paid domain name.Desired Settlement: Full Access to my domain name that I rightfully own.

Review: Our Church domain name was hosted through [redacted].com. This organization ceased and they sold their clients to Purity Names. Unfortunately, we have 2 1/2 years left on our contract. Purity Names recognizes us, but the person that set up our website was tragically killed and we do not have the login or password. For the last 3 - 4 weeks I have called Purity Names support, faxed the information they requested to the number they requested (3 times) and emailed that same info to their support email. However, they refuse to return my calls or emails, they refuse to reset our log in or password, and they continue to hold our domain name hostage. All I have requested is that they reset our login and password and email it to me at the email address on the website. But that has not happened, they have not returned any calls, and our church website is in a suspended state because of the lack of a login. But that seems to be too great of a request for them.Desired Settlement: That they supply me with a new login and password so we can have our domain name back.

wd: Complaint [redacted]

Review: I am the secretary for [redacted] Church in [redacted], NC. Our domain name was owned by another company and was recently sold (or taken over) by puritynames.com. Puritynames.com notified us that our account was about to expire and so we paid $80 for 5 years. In addition, the account was first set up by someone who is no longer at the church, so I need to get onto our account page to change the information. Our credit card shows that puritynames.com processed our $80, but after almost a month we still cannot access our account to make changes, and it still shows that our account will expire this month. I have repeatedly tried to contact them by email and phone but have not had any satisfactory response.Desired Settlement: We would like to have our account unlocked so that we can make necessary changes, and also the assurance that our $80 renewal fee has been processed with them. We need to see the updated account expiration date on our account page.

Greetings, I submitted a complaint (#[redacted]) recently and have received partial satisfaction. I don’t know how to report this to you. The company has now noted our payment and also changed most of our contact information on their website. However, I still am trying to change our phone number and country listing, and when I try to do so, the website posts a notice something like “We have sent you an email to verify your changes. When we hear back from you in response to the email we will make the changes.” However, they do not send the email (they do have our correct email address). I have tried this for quite a while and still have not received an email from them or seen the changes appear on their website. This company does not seem to care about their customers and do not respond to their inquiries. Thank you, [redacted]Church Secretary[redacted] Church[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: Received an error while attempting to renew a domain through Purity Names. Resubmitted the renewal request twice more, thinking I may have made a mistake, and received error page each time. Discovered that each renewal has created a hold against my card, but the renewal date has not increased commensurately. Attempted to contact their support multiple times, both via email and phone. Email is non-responsive; phone is not answered with any consistency, claims to only be a call center that takes messages and forwards them to Purity Names to respond by email. Neither received a response; domain expires tomorrow unless renewal is completed, but I cannot complete the renewal until I can determine the source of the error so I can correct it if it's something I'm doing wrong, or they fix their system if it's a problem with their site. Previously placed holds on account finally fell off today, resubmitted a renewal request but continue to receive an error from the site with no information whatsoever on how to resolve.

First contact was attempted through their support email on 9/3 at 9:50AM Central time. This was followed by two unanswered call attempts around 9:00PM on 9/3 (call center rep claimed that they answer 24/7 when I finally reached them), unanswered call attempt at 12:21PM on 9/4, an answered call I was told would be passed along to their support at 1:30PM on 9/4, another unanswered email at 2:30PM on 9/4, and finally an email with a screenshot of the error page today (9/8) at approximately 12:00PM.Desired Settlement: Complete the renewal of the domain name [redacted] for a single year at the stated rate of $16.00, prior to the expiry of the domain name. If this is not completed prior to domain expiry, it would be appropriate for the company to take whatever steps are necessary for the domain to be reinstated on their time and expense, as I've already wasted several hours trying to address the problem in advance of the expiry and should not be further penalized due to the company's failure to respond in a timely fashion, which would prevent the issue in the first place.
