Purnell Delivery Service

Review: I bought furniture from [redacted] Furniture and their contracted delivery company, Purnell USA, hired delivery people who damaged our home, didn't tell us they did, and when we noticed it later they ignored our requests for assistance until some claim deadline passed, which I don't even know what the deadline was. They have put me off so long that now they are claiming that it's too late for me to submit a claim. Even though I have proof that two weeks before the delivery was made that there was no damage to that area, they still are trying to say that I didn't report it immediately as another reason it's too late to claim it. I have very detailed, specific information regarding timelines, damages, and points of contacts that delayed responding to us. We have pictures and saved texts, emails, and phone call logs to prove our claims here. I cannot include them here as the emails are too long. Note: we did not pay this company directly. The delivery service was included in the furniture purchase price. We are only trying to get them to repair the damage to our staircase, which their people were responsible for.Desired Settlement: All I'm asking is that somebody come out and fix the damage, which is estimated to be $1,000 to $2,000 to repair the staircase. And now, an apology. They should also improve their customer service skills across the board and their claims process or this is going to keep happening to others. Finally, they should ensure that whoever is delivering the furniture is trained appropriately. I believe they only subcontract to the truck owner, and that person can hire anyone they want, but when they're not trained or skilled in furniture delivery, things like this happen.
