Mr*** is a tile installer by trade which is all about hand & eye workIn his profession his focus is magnified on the smallest tolerances'A mere 1/16” of an inch could throw off his tile jobAsphalt paving is far different because asphalt is laid by a paver machineIn the asphalt industry our standards are not in fractions of an inchOur measurements are much greater in the form of square footage and tonnageMr*** is looking at a machine laid asphalt driveway through a magnified glassMr***s driveway is too small for us to back a quad axle dump truck into our paver machineTherefore we load the paver hopper via skid steer which is a very common practice when paving in tight areasThis loading process does not always provide continuous travel of the paverTherefore my crew had one stop mark on his entire driveway projectThe stop mark is nothing more then a cosmetic blemishI had made an offer to Mrs*** for a NO-CHARGE sealcoating application which would seal the driveway and take care of the smallest cosmetic blemishesHowever taking into consideration Mr***s compulsive behavior no matter who performs the sealcoating he will never be happyInstead I will offer the ***s a make-good offer of $This is in addition to the 10% discount off the driveway price, and the $concession already made.In closing, I was speaking with a collogue of mine from the Associated Builders & ContractorsThe law of averages is; when we as contractors are doing a high volume of business like we are, your always going to run into “the One”That just give me a greater appreciation for all of our satisfied clients who are a pleasure to work with

I have not heard a word from Purpose Contracting, My wife and I feel we have received the worst job possibleThis company is the most unprofessional contractor we have ever hiredWe are now stuck with a terrible job, our house was damaged and we were basically scammed out of $It may be cheaper to hire an attorney and sue him. Thank you for all your help, *** ***

Purpose Contracting Asphalt did my driveway on 9/24/2018 and I am very very happy with the work that was done. Dan the foreman and the crew that was working were very helpful and they worked hard. (They were not stone kickers.)
I love my driveway and can't wait for the first snow fall to shovel my driveway (sounds weird) after years of gravel. I would suggest anyone putting in an asphalt driveway to go with Purpose Contracting, the owner Randy was a wonderful person to work with, I felt that he was very informative and had did his homework before he came to my house to give me a quote. Thank you again Randy, Dan and the rest of the crew for the hard work you have done for me.

Revdex.com:
So Mr. [redacted] you are obsessed with critiquing me and not addressing the real issues at hand. Address the issues! (Stop trying to make this about me and look at the pictures, they don't lie)  In the past 3 months of dealing with you I have found that you are a very dishonest person.  I have also found you have very low standards, in your exact words you say "It is a million dollar driveway". The pictures and a very poor quality job tell very different story. You said you can do 3 driveways a day but the worst job I have ever seen.   When your foreman so called experienced  30yr foreman bumped the house with the left wing of the paver while he was looking to the right. You think after doing it for 30 years he would know the controls. So when I called you to tell you that you said "I'm not good at this" more then 10 times in our 3minute conversation and on top of that told me to take degreaser, steel wool and spray paint it, you are so unprofessional!  You are very cheap, one of the tires on the skid steer had a 1 square foot area that had the cords showing that finally blew out and it took the boys 45 minutes to change the tire, there were 2 more tires in the same condition on the truck.  1.  No where in your proposal is there a 10% discount or have you ever talked 10%, so that is a lie. (Your proposal was in the middle of 3)  2. There are 4 actual stop and start marks (so saying 1 is a lie).  3. When you were here in front of my wife I questioned you about pitch of the driveway and you replied my foreman has 30 years experience and it would be handled. Well after a rain the edges are dry and the middle is a huge puddle with puddles in other areas. After it does start to evaporate there are ripples up and down the driveway. There was never a transit used on the job period and there is not proper pitch for the water to run off. What is going to hap[pen this winter when it melts and freezes? I can tell you there will by icy spots all over it. (There are several pictures attached to this complaint)  4. I asked you about when you see the rocks in the mix where it looks like there isn't any tar around them, you told me we broom them aside. We have several areas where it looks as though I could just pop the stones out and I know when these areas freeze the ice will be breaking them loose (You lied again)  5. You said the paver was loaded by a skid steer, not one bucket was loaded with a skid steer. In fact after the old driveway was cut at the road the quad axel truck in it busted many pieces of the edge of the road when they backed it down the driveway. I was here you were not! (That is another lie and I will post pictures of it).  6. The approach to the new garage was to be based with 6-8 inches of traffic bond you said, all you did was scrape the grass off and pave over the dirt.(guess what? another lie)   Believe me Mr. [redacted] I am not looking at it through a magnifying glass or as you say magnified glass. All the issues jump out at you. We could not have found a company to do a worst job then we have.  There are numerous roller edge marks in which it was never compressed enough. The 2 other companies I have quotes told me we could drive on it the same day, your company told me we had to wait 4 days to drive a car on it and 30 days to use my trailer on it, all because it was not compressed enough and the pictures show this with all the loose asphalt.  All in all I can tell any one that is thinking about having you do a driveway for them is: When you have any issues and you call and question Mr. [redacted] he will tell you it's a "million dollar job". You ask him to come and go over the numerous issues and he says NO I won't come out then gets upset and hangs up on you. He then screens his calls and will not answer.  Once Mr. [redacted] is paid in full you will never see him or your money again and be stuck with thee worst job you could ever imagine.  If you really want to settle this then pay $2500.00 which is half the cost to have this mess torn out and redone and is the cheapest of all the bids I received. I will then chalk this up to my ignorance for not asking to see some of your work before hand.  The only reason you won't come out is because it is a horrible job and you have no answer for it.

Regards,
[redacted]

I'd like to state that Mr. [redacted] certainly likes to embellish the truth. I have personally visited his house on (2) occasions and have to say Mr. [redacted] has an amazing driveway. They have a two car garage and a third added-on garage. Because of the width of the driveway it required three passes...

with our Carlson paver which obviously makes two seams. The paver has a guide that ensures overlap of the seams so that they aren't visible. We had a very heavy rain one morning. I received a call from Mrs. [redacted] at 7:30 am to come look at the driveway. My Foreman and I were there taking pictures of a dry driveway at 9:00 am, NO standing water or puddling. As a make-good offer I offered Mrs. [redacted] a NO-CHARGE sealcoating application which will cover up any slight blemishes in the cosmetics of the surface. She graciously accepted my offer. During the install our paver operator was distracted by Mr. [redacted] and bumped the aluminum garage door trim when extending the wings of the paver. The small ding is the size of a quarter and I took $200.00 of the bill for any inconvenience this ding may have caused. Mr. [redacted] requested we raise the asphalt by his front stoop to an elevation higher then his concrete garage floor. In order to match our asphalt to his concrete floor we had to transition the asphalt slightly lower from his stoop to the garage floor area. The day of the install the local asphalt plant was running a very expensive hybrid mix. So we under promised and over delivered by installing this hybrid mix. And that is what makes this driveway so amazing!!

I had Purpose Contracting Asphalt do both concrete and asphalt work at my business last fall and I am very happy with the results. The workers did an excellent job, worked well together, and seemed to like what they were doing. The result is beautiful, and I am finding the melting snow draining the way I asked. I am planning another project for next year and will definitely use them again.

We hired Purpose Contracting to asphalt a previously asphalted parking area that we had dug up anticipating an expansion of our building. We could not get permit for the building so we hired Purpose to remove the ground up asphalt and re-asphalt the area. We specifically asked that they keep the level along building the same as it was before (easy to see because painted area stopped at the level of the old asphalt. Then when job was done it was a full block lower in the middle and up to level on both ends leaving two issues. One we needed to build a step to get out of a door (they build a little crooked step that was worthless after we complained) and two water not came within inches of our building where it should have never been closer than 5 feet. The denied and wrong doing and would not fix the issue.

Purpose Contracting recently finished my driveway and I couldn't be happier. When my driveway was originally installed (by another company in the area) it didn't look half as nice as when Purpose did it, and it only lasted about 6 years before starting to disintegrate. I used Purpose Contracting many years ago at my old house and 14 years later it still looked new.. Whatever they are doing different in the materials they are using or the way they lay the asphalt down sure showed in the longevity and look of my last driveway. I will NEVER use any other asphalt company again....period.

Randy from Purpose Contracting was patient with my wife and I, for over a year as we gathered up the funds to replace a garage approach and add a patio. Once we got the funds, they came out to do the job. The job they did was great, couldn't be happier! Thanks again Randy!
