Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:While I fully understand that this was an "act of God," and an unfortunate event, cancellation policy offers one to either transfer the registration to another participant for a fee OR to pay a fee to defer to another eventParticipants were not even offered to defer their registration for another event, and in fact, participants were given 50% off another one of their events, which is more expensive than for a participant to pay to defer to another eventI believe everyone who signed up to participate WANTED to participate, but participants were then given a half off coupon, which would mean they paid even more money to this companyThe fact that participants weren't even offered what this company normally offers in this situation is upsetting, which is why I will never participate in any of their other events and why I requested a full refundI find it hard to believe they couldn't have offered at least a partial refund to participants, or waived a fee for those who wanted to participate in another eventIt's a shame this company would take advantage of the situation for financial gain Regards, [redacted]

The transfer and deferral options were "expired" in that they must be either 2 weeks or 1 week prior to the expo date. Also the 50% off coupon would have been a better deal than the $45 deferral fee that is customary with the deferral request. So our offer was actually more generous than the existing policy. We know this has been a difficult year for everyone. That includes Purpose. Race Events. We are doing our best and we are truly sorry that you feel that is not enough. Thanks, Purpose. Race Events

We are very sorry for the delayed refund. This refund was actually sent out yesterday 11/13/17 Ck #***- $118.78We are having our most difficult year in business. We have been in business for over years and this year is our 1st year to ever get these types of
complaints. We have had to cancel one race due to Hurricane Harvey another triathlon was reduced to a 5k due to weather and we have had other issues both personal and business that have literally crippled our business. We are struggling and simply doing our best. We have made everyone "whole" due to our cancellations at this point and we are working hard to climb out of this difficult hole we have found ourselves in. Thank you for you patience and understanding

check dated 11/1/I received it on 1/11/18! I will deposit it on Tuesday, 1/16/Only after it clears will this matter be settled! I hope my bank accepts a check dated over months ago!

ALL refund checks have finally been sent out. We did do them in alphabetical order so Ms*** was in the last batch that went out (just last week). So as far as I know we have one customer who paid for multiple entries that we only refunded her one entry and once we get her sorted
out, we will have made everyone in this situation whole.We had a string of difficult situations that lead to the cancellation of events all in one calendar year. We are looking forward to being a year of rebuilding in many ways. We continue to serve our customers with honesty and integrity to the best of our ability. was VERY difficult, but it is behind us and we are looking to the future and serving ALL of our customers with quality races and excellent customer service

The 50% off is for future events. Some have chosen to run 10k or 5k or half marathons that are cheaper along with the price of some of the Triathlon options at the time of the email were as low as $so the difference between $or $was not that much. We would be more than happy to get you a coupon for an upcoming Tri either Lost Pines or San Antonio for $45. That is fine. If that is a satisfying option. Please let us know and we will get you that coupon code directly

I am rejecting this response because:My registration fee for your event was about $120. I fail to see how half off that cost, which is $60, is cheaper than $45. I, like so many others, were waiting to see when the event would be rescheduled, so when would have been the time to even be able to take advantage of the deferral when it "expired"? A week before never? I'm also having a hard time finding anywhere on your website that mentions anything about an event being canceled by you or because of weather. Perhaps, you can provide that, as I am not seeing that under your cancellation policy. I find it hard to believe that my entire registration fee was used to for an event that did not even happen. I understand there is some overhead to put on an event like this, but all of it?

I looked it over and this is for our event that was scheduled in The Woodlands Tx.  We "postponed" the event due to Hurricane Harvey.  There was no way we would have been able to safely put on this event.  So after much deliberation with The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands Resort...

we "postponed".  We then immediately began looking for an alternative date for the event.  We were unable to work out a date that met ALL parties needs (The Township, Montgomery County, The Resort, Our Timing Company, Our Logistics Company, The Barricade Company, etc.)  At that point we had to officially cancel the event.  This event is and was communicated as a NO REFUND event.  We had no control of the circumstances which were an "act of God".  I have attached our policy and the communications that went out to the participants.  ThanksPurpose.
