Purvis Property Management

Review: Purvis Property Management company approved me for a lease of a townhome. I informed them that we were very excited about the lease, but had a few hours delay in confirming the exact lease start date due to the fact that my partner was unavailable on work business that day, which I told the company. At 5:43 pm on a Friday I was sent an email saying they would continue to show the property unless they heard from me. I responded immediately (within 15 mins) saying that we wanted the property and that we would accept the lease date per their terms. I also asked if the lease would be prepared over the weekend, but I never heard back. My real estate agent called the office over the weekend requesting that the lease be furnished for our review and heard nothing. On Monday morning we both followed up and were ignored for several hours until I received an email stating that since they had not heard from me by 5 pm on Friday, they continued to show the townhome over the weekend and that they had accepted another application and the owner rescinded my application. I was never informed that they needed an answer by 5 pm. In fact, their email to me came in at 5:43 pm.

When my real estate agent spoke with the owner, [redacted] Purvis, he told her that her client (me) was lying about the emails. I have proof of these emails and can furnish at any time. This experience has left us feeling badly for the owner's who are dealing with such an angry group. I have requested a refund of both my and my partner's checks for $45 for the application fee. I am requesting this refund because we were approved and then without warning, rejected. We adhered to the rules, and they behaved unethically in my opinion.
