Putnam ford made is a dealing a new car, then did not uphold their end of the deal. Tried to sneak things by us, we noticed immediately and requestedWe were purchasing an f150 from putnam ford. When we called morning supposed to sign deal, told couldn't get truck wanted. Instead offered different truck, but one of missing options would be added by dealer at no charge. Told would be same as what on other truck. Told still sign papers that night (jun30th) and truck would be ready for pickup wed (June 2nd). We agreed and signed forms, including odometer reading. When we picked up truck: odometer was over 75 miles higher, there was scratch in front and a cheap after market accessory was installed, clearly trying to pull one over on us. Called dealer as soon as arrived home noting all this. Brought truck back at opening (trade in car still there). After not getting answers we were happy with, asked for old car back. Said we did not want truck any longer, however, was told car already sold and now gone. Our loan for this car has not yet been paid off, and dealership did not uphold their end of deal. Offered to buy different trick (one we wanted), but was met with ride [redacted] who threatened to call the cops to have me robed from property.Desired SettlementWe would either like our car back or a truck we want with options we want. We do not want the truck we were given with a scratch and missing options.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], [redacted]Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@putnam-ford.comThe customer and the Sales Department agreed that the customer would purchase our truck if we installed a Reverse Sensing System to match the other dealer's truck (which would need to be sent out for install) and we allowed another [redacted] for their trade above the other dealer's price. They agreed to this and we completed the paperwork. The truck was sent out the next day for install and was not scheduled for a Ford system. The customer was not happy so we have now installed a new Ford reverse Sensing system to make it right with the customer. They were concerned about a small scratch on the front bumper which we are currently taking care of. We have not tried to upset the customer and have been upfront from the start and the items of concern have all been addressed or will be by Friday, July 11. We have completed all of what was expected except for the original misunderstanding with the Reverse Sensing System which is now done. We have been upfront and forthright with what we will do to satisfy their concerns and we are confident that we have completed all that was promised in the beginning and we have assured the customer that we apologize for those misunderstandings and have promised them complete satisfaction for the remainder of their ownership of this vehicle.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)While the dealership finally met their LEGAL obligation to us, we received no apology from the individual who blatantly lied to us, and even after repairs/correction of the backup sensor, they job was done less than 100%. Due to the entire experience and the lack of satisfaction, in the end we took matters into our own hands and went to another dealership who took care of us. They put us in a vehicle we are happy with and treated us with the respect we deserve. The only individual we are satisfied with at Putnam Ford is the [redacted] who did his best to take care of us and treated us fairly, always being honest and upfront. The GM repeatedly lied to us, talked to us using derogatory language and then called US liars, threatening us and ultimately being unprofessional and unwilling to help us with the situation this dealership created. When speaking with our Ford Liaison they were shocked and very upset to here how [redacted] acted towards us, assuring us this was harassment and against their policies. We only hope something can be done to make sure others are not treated as we were by him since we have now learned that others in the area have had similar issues with him.
