Hello [redacted].  Honestly this sounds like metal to
metal contact.  Have you checked the wire forms to make sure there is
enough clearance?  These are the 1/4" round rods that are welded to the
axle-backs.  These wire forms go into the rubber
isolators that are mounted to the car.  A metal housing surrounds this
rubber isolator.  You must make sure you have at least a 1/4" clearance
from the wire form to the metal housing.  Check when the engine/exhaust
is cold and also check when the engine/exhaust
is hot.  If you have less than the desired clearance you will need to
move the axle-back forward.  You can do so by loosening the butt-connect
clamp where the H-pipe meets the mid-pipes.  Also please check to make
sure that the ball/socket clamp is tight.
Please check these areas first.  If you are still having an issue we will need to get the part back here to inspect it.

Review: I purchased an exhaust system and had professionally installed as per the instructions that were in the box. The exhaust was installed and welded together and looks perfect when looking underneath the car. When the car is running there is a loud vibration/rattle that is coming from inside the passenger side muffler. I called [redacted] which is the distributor which I ordered from. I was told by [redacted] that I needed to contact the vender Pypes regarding the issue. I was instructed to take the car back to the installer and video under the car to prove proper installation. I was under the car with the professional installer and took video for proof as was instructed to do by tech support at Pypes. I was also accused of damaging the muffler and now trying to get them to replace it. This car has less than one hour of running time since the install of the exhaust system which Pypes advertised has a life time warranty. I called the company back and asked how they preferred me to send them the video. I was told they do not want the video that I must purchase a replacement muffler and can send them back the one that I say has an issue. They will check out the muffler sent back to them and if they find nothing wrong then we will own two mufflers. I was told there is no way they will find anything wrong with the muffler as they inspect all of their products before they are shipped out. The two men that I spoke with at Pypes were not friendly and very belittling to me on the phone accusing me of damaging their product.Desired Settlement: I would like a replacement muffler to be sent to me at no cost to me and I will send back the defective one at their shipping costs. I also think that they should help with the additional cost of having to pay to have their defective product removed and new installed. We paid $255 to have the exhaust installed.

Response:

The customer requested a replacement muffler and has received it.

Review: In approximately October of 2013, I ordered an exhaust system for my 2004 [redacted], that had come with a lifetime warranty. Earlier this week, I had noticed the muffler itself had failed, being one outlet on the muffler had come completely off and had caused one exhaust pipe to get completely lost. The other side developed a Crack approximately 2-3 inches in length in the same location on the passenger side outlet. This caused the passenger side pipe to fall out of position and drag on the pavement, causing a hole to develop in the exhaust pipe. I immediately had contacted the company regarding this and to file a warranty claim. After about a dozen emails, Brandon T. in the technical department had informed me that they would replace the muffler itself, with an approximate value of $65, since that was indeed a faulty part, but no other components that were damaged due to the failure of their muffler on their exhaust system. This is unacceptable, as to this system is less than a year old and needs replaced almost in its entirety due to the significant damage on a $400 exhaust system. Now, the truck itself is unusable until a repair is made, due to the illegality of operation of a vehicle in this condition, but also the risk of exhaust fumeseentering the cab and possible damage to the engine. The representative I spoke with stated "i should have stopped immediately instead of driving like this. I told him I had, which could be shown by the small size of the hole in the one exhaust pipe, and took the pieces and put them into the truck bed until I got home, when I realized the full extent of the damage. He refused to further assist me.Desired Settlement: To either replace the components that are damaged/broken/missing or refund the cost of the system, as to something with a lifetime warranty should never fail like this after less than a year.
