I bought a truck for $12,plusThe Book value was just under thatThey had replaced radiator with used one and the heater core was disconnected and air wasn't coldThey said they would fix the air problem and replace heater core and put it in their shop and did whateverI paid them extra to have tires replaced while it was in their shop as they were cracked and dry rotted which was unsafe to driveThey over charged me for the tires when I came for the truck, but I let that goWhen I got there to pick up the truck they said they were going to redo the paperwork and show that a guy at the car lot was going to buy my trade instead and I would give them the money instead of the tradeThe guy gave them the cash, not me and they put it down as all cash dealThey took my tag off my vehicle and said they were going to keep it as they do everyone's while waiting for registrationI insisted they give me my tag as it was mine and I had bought itNot to mention that I believe it is illegal to do that and as I was calling the DMV they gave me my tag back( later the DMV did tell me it is illegal.) The paperwork had a lot of unnecessary papers in the mix, looked to be trying to cover some of the crooked things they were doingLike the one I signed accidently saying they could charge up to $for tag and registration (that they had already charged me for in the sale) which I had to come back and get from them because they put a temporary tag on my vehicle, that was unnecessary, the DMV said because I already had a tag to useThere was also something to sign saying that I would have to talk to them if I had a problem with the vehicle before going to an attorney(Sounds fishy right?) They gave me only one key and another will cost me a lot of money to buy, I found out laterThey said it would be clean as new and it still had glass in the back seat (probably from where they repoed it from somebody) and it still smelled badThe heater they supposedly fixed makes a loud popping noise when it comes onThe air conditioner freezes up constantly under the hood and never gets cold in the vehicle(Don't use their mechanics!) First the battery wasn't cranking the truck, it was tested and no good, so I bought a new oneI had to put the truck in the shop in the first weekThe front hubs were so bad the tires were wearing and about to do major damage to the truck(Their mechanics replaced tires and didn't even replace something that unsafe!) $a piece at my expenseI saved the worst for last, In days after getting home it started running rough and skipping which scared me cause I thought Oh No! This sounds like it could be they doctored it up to sell it (put something in it like head gasket sealer) well in the next couple of days it was running worse and the coolant reservoir was getting low and I added water and drove it one more day to workI only had one vehicle, they knew that, these people are the lowest of the low! I dealt with the salesman, the manager and the owner for the saleThey all were in on it and knew what they were doingThey did try to get us to buy a warranty that the owner says he is in charge of and handles himselfHe gives you a choice of the $1000, $2000, or $one which I declined because I shouldn't need that on something I just bought and paid that kind of money forWhat crooks!!! Couldn't drive it at all in less than a week! I put it in the shop for repair and found out after testing, it had blown head gaskets and had been this way for some time considering the contamination in the engineCoolant in the oil, all through the headsHad to have the heads reworked and took a lot of time because it was so bad, and 1/weeks (had to borrow my son in laws vehicle and put my kids in a bad spot because these car lot guys at star auto took it upon themselves to totally rip me off!) This work cost me over $2,and that's cutting me a break because they felt bad about what star had done to me! Never, Never, Never, do business with Star Auto! I will say this is the worst deal I've ever done with anyone! Had went by and told the manager as soon as I put it in the shop(He's the guy with the long vin number tattoo on his arm.) He said they would make it rightThey didn't want a dissatisfied customerAs soon as I got it out of the shop I went by and gave D salesman a copy of my receipt and talked to the owner, (the white haired guy) and he said he wasn't giving me anything back on repairs cause I bought it as is no warranty and I could've bought one of his warranties! I said don't you think it should have lasted me more than days and he grinned and said nothingSo if you buy a car from themYou see ahead of time what you're dealing with! Everything I said here is not exaggerated, it is the Gods Honest Truth!

I bought a truck for $12,000 plus. The Book value was just under that. They had replaced radiator with used one and the heater core was disconnected and air wasn't cold. They said they would fix the air problem and replace heater core and put it in their shop and did whatever.... I paid them extra to have tires replaced while it was in their shop as they were cracked and dry rotted which was unsafe to drive. They over charged me for the tires when I came for the truck, but I let that go. When I got there to pick up the truck they said they were going to redo the paperwork and show that a guy at the car lot was going to buy my trade instead and I would give them the money instead of the trade. The guy gave them the cash, not me and they put it down as all cash deal. They took my tag off my vehicle and said they were going to keep it as they do everyone's while waiting for registration. I insisted they give me my tag as it was mine and I had bought it. Not to mention that I believe it is illegal to do that and as I was calling the DMV they gave me my tag back. ( later the DMV did tell me it is illegal.) The paperwork had a lot of unnecessary papers in the mix, looked to be trying to cover some of the crooked things they were doing. Like the one I signed accidently saying they could charge up to $600 for tag and registration (that they had already charged me for in the sale) which I had to come back and get from them because they put a temporary tag on my vehicle, that was unnecessary, the DMV said because I already had a tag to use. There was also something to sign saying that I would have to talk to them if I had a problem with the vehicle before going to an attorney. (Sounds fishy right?) They gave me only one key and another will cost me a lot of money to buy, I found out later. They said it would be clean as new and it still had glass in the back seat (probably from where they repoed it from somebody) and it still smelled bad. First the battery wasn't cranking the truck, it was tested and no good, so I bought a new one. I had to put the truck in the shop in the first week. The front hubs were so bad the tires were wearing and about to do major damage to the truck. (Their mechanics replaced tires and didn't even replace something that unsafe!) $225 a piece at my expense.... I saved the worst for last, In 3 days after getting home it started running rough and skipping which scared me cause I thought Oh No! This sounds like it could be they doctored it up to sell it (put something in it like head gasket sealer) well in the next couple of days it was running worse and the coolant reservoir was getting low and I added water and drove it one more day to work. I only had one vehicle, they knew that, these people are the lowest of the low! I dealt with the salesman, the manager and the owner for the sale. They all were in on it and knew what they were doing. They did try to get us to buy a warranty that the owner says he is in charge of and handles himself. He gives you a choice of the $1000, $2000, or $3000 one which I declined because I shouldn't need that on something I just bought and paid that kind of money for. What crooks!!! Couldn't drive it at all in less than a week! I put it in the shop for repair and found out after testing, it had blown head gaskets and had been this way for some time considering the contamination in the engine. Coolant in the oil, all through the heads. Had to have the heads reworked and took a lot of time because it was so bad, 2 and 1/2 weeks (had to borrow my son in laws vehicle and put my kids in a bad spot because these car lot guys at 5 star auto took it upon themselves to totally rip me off!) This work cost me over $2,300 and that's cutting me a break because they felt bad about what 5 star had done to me! Never, Never, Never, do business with 5 Star Auto! I will say this is the worst deal I've ever done with anyone! Had went by and told the manager as soon as I put it in the shop. (He's the guy with the long vin number tattoo on his arm.)
