Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Please accept this letter as a formal grievance against Pyramid Healthcare, Inc.
located in Quakertown Pennsylvania. [reached out to [redacted] in an effort to
obtain behavioral and substance abuse assistance for my 16-year-old son. I was
given this providers information and I contacted the admissions coordinator Lisa in
an effort to obtain services for my son quickly. After speaking with Lisa about my
Sons behaviors, schooling, past and present drug usage she informed me that [redacted]
would be a fit for the program without speaking with him just based on our
conversation and could be admitted as soon as the next day of December 21, 2016. 1
was given a 930-intake appointment and told what my son would need in terms of
clothing and toiletry. Upon arrival we met with Lora. She explained that she would
have a conversation for about an hour with [redacted] and upon that determination we
could speak further. After her conversation with [redacted], Lora reached out to the
insurance company and confirmed that [redacted] could start the program.
On December 22, 2016, 1 received a phone call from a woman who told me that [redacted]
was not having a smooth transition to the program that he used profanity in relation
to the program and had walked out of the classroom. However, after conversation
with him returned to the program and was fine. She asked if I could give more
helpful information about his behaviors so they could better assist him. If wasn’t
until [gave more information that [was informed that she was a volunteer that
would relay the information to his actual counselor Stacy that would be calling later.
At that time I was concerned about the program and the access that volunteers have
with patient information. However, I tried to give the program the benefit o fthe
doubt and waited for Stacy to call me back. Stacy did call me the same day and
introduced herself as his counselor and informed me that [redacted] was having difficulty
with use of profanity and being disrespectful but was able to be spoken to and the
following day he would fleet with the physiatrist and someone would be in touch
with me. On December 23, 2016 the psychiatrist introduced himself as the fill in for
the regular psychiatrist that he would be seeing but informed me that he would
have conversation with [redacted] and would reach out later that day. When I received a
phone call I was asked about my consent about use of the medication [redacted],
which is sometimes used for individuals that had been previously diagnosed with
ADD/Aol-rn. I asked what the side effect of the medication would he and was told
there would be none and would administer the first pill the same day. Later that
evening [received another phone call from a staff person from this facility informing
me that [redacted] was not complying and they were unsure if they would be able to help
him. I asked what he was doing and was told that he was threatening others in the
program and was being disrespectful to the staff. I replied that I made them aware
prior to his acceptance to the program that he had special issues and when
individuals that work with children/ teenager are trained they are aware that words
should not be taken so literal when the child uses words for a reaction. [then also
asked if they were giving time for the medication to work that was prescribed by the
doctor earlier that day. That evening 1 received another phone call where I relayed
the same information after being told [redacted] was being difficult I also asked if they
were using appropriate strategies to work with me or were they lust trying to take

my money and not work with him. [redacted] had not even been in his transitional period
of 5 days at this point. This individual was asking rue to come get my son from the
program by referring that the other 28 boys were in fear of my son. I then
responded and asked how was this possible. He then told he that he would speak
with [redacted] and get back to me.! received a phone call at 1030 that evening and was
told the conversation was a success and they would work with him and! would not
receive a call the rest of the holiday weekend. December 25, 2016 at 230 I received a
phone call from Laura S she told me that [redacted] was being released from the program
and I was to come immediately to pick him up. When asked what had occurred from
1030pm the night before to then I was told he was not complying and her boss
wanted him released immediately. I asked why I wasn’t given a call sooner that day
if it was so bad. I was given no answer. I asked what occurred form the time I spoke
with the person who had things under control the night before. Laura’s response
was she did not know and had no answer. I informed her that! was not in the area
and needed to speak with someone in charge. I was told Michelle was in charge and
she was the decision maker. I asked to speak to her and have yet to speak with her.
A staff member drove my son to me, I asked for release forms and was told there
were none. They asked for no identification or anything-just release my minor on
the side of the road and drove away. I was given medication of 6 pills with no
further prescription for this medication or instructions for the meds. Upon speaking
with my son he was only given one pill for the entire time he was in the program.
I received a phone message from Laura on December 27,2016 stating that
upon my request for monies of 2000.00 returned to me she was still waiting on her
billing department and wanted to speak with me about ongoing care for my son
with the previous outside facility he was working with. I have tried to make contact
with this individual 3 riffles and have not received a response. This program in no
way helped my son with his issues if anything they made a bad situation worse and
took my money as well. lam an educator and have never been trained that this
treatment by son received was appropriate. They need to be held accountable for
treating the children and their families in the manner in which my son and I have is
unacceptable. I am asking my healthcare provider to look further into this program
and its ]ack of professional ism and concern for care, They should never be
recommended as a facility for behavior and substance. They just want money and
kids that they don’t really have to make any effort to work with.
Sincerely,
[redacted]  Regards,
Sherlon Young
