I am rejecting this response because:There is some inaccurate information from [redacted] in their previous response so I will provide some clarification.I did not use the term, ‘pinhole leak’. How would I know there’s a pinhole leak in the overflow tube when I can’t see inside the sink apparatus? I did report a 4 inch crack on the exterior wall of the underneath part of the sink which caused leaking around the crack when I filled up the sink to test the overflow hole. In fact, I took a picture of the crack over to [redacted] in person even before any telephone correspondence and she agreed it was a crack on the outside of the lower basin and that’s when she told me the warranty was with [redacted] and gave me their phone number. We don’t know that it had been occurring for a long time and we are not planning to sell our house right now. This is an unsafe situation for us because the sink could overflow accidentally and cause flooding.Again, a ‘pinhole’ was not fixed- [redacted] repaired the visible crack with some sort of strong smelling epoxy glue. After doing that, the overflow tube would not drain at all when it had drained previously for us. In other words, [redacted] created a new problem for us. And additionally, they chipped around the overflow hole in the basin by running a metal coat hanger down the hole. Who knows if they created a leak in the overflow tube by doing that. The drain line is not the problem. It drains just fine. But when we use the stopper to fill up the sink, water does not drain into the overflow hole as it’s designed to.[redacted] has now caused us these issues- water doesn’t drain into the overflow hole and we have a chip in our sink. Where is their responsibility? If [redacted] is willing to sell us another sink for almost exactly what we paid for the original sink, what is the limited lifetime warranty for? And why would we want to buy another sink from them when they don’t honor the previous warranty. If we have problems with the next sink, what would happen? I’ll answer that- each company would just point at the other company and do nothing. Both of these companies are just passing the buck back to us. Ultimately, we hold [redacted] responsible. We bought a defective sink from them and they should own up to it. How long do both of these companies hope their sinks will last a customer? Surely way longer than the 6 years we’ve had it.This week, I visited Lowe’s and talked to [redacted], the salesman in the sink department. He explained that a limited lifetime warranty means that when there’s an obvious manufacture defect, like a visible crack that leaks, Lowes will replace the sink for the customer at no charge. Also he sells [redacted] sinks and pulled up their warranty to verify that it’s a limited lifetime warranty and it is. He was surprised that any company wouldn’t honor that type of warranty. Also I got the feeling from him that to glue a crack like that is only a temporary solution and it will probably leak again.
