Pictures of the silcone applied are completely acceptalble means of caulking a shoddy siding job on their home NOT installed by meThe pictures are also ridicoulsly close up exaggerating the point as it should be made clear this small area is TWO STORIES OFF THE GROUND and applied IN A VALLEYId would like to see the pics from a ground point of viewIts clear in the pictures that the siding corner post was installed 2' high thus the reason for the sealantThis was all explained to [redacted] over a recorded phone conversation on Friday 1/23/where we came up with a solution to this difference in opinion about the application of this minor amount of sealantWhich was to provide him with a written guarantee that the sealant was in fact FUNCTIONAL, which my office did, and also attached a letter from the manufacture of the sealant explaining its uses and compatibility with these roofing materials......it was also made clear that the use of such CLEAR SEALANT IS COMMON PRACTICE IN THE ROOFING INDUSTRY So here we are back to square oneEven though these people have multiple written guarantees, and I have returned MULTIPLE times to appease them, they are still not satisfied! As for any other of the accusations made about the events or challenges during the project I consider them ALL IRRELEVANT to their final complaint (the cosmetic look of clear silicone that they dont like) ....and I will not address those issues because they have been repaired, or compensated for in refunds etc....also the homeowner signed a waiver of liability for said issues early on, due to the fact that everything was addressed by my company. As of this point in time I will offer ONE FINAL resolution, which is the same suggestion I said from the start, and that is:REMOVE EXISTING CLEAR SEALANT IN THE SMALL AREAS WHERE IT WAS APPLIED (AFTER IT HAS DRIED APPROX WEEKS) AND REAPPLY A BEIGE SEALANT TO BEST MATCH THE SIDING (WHICH WILL NEVER BE A PERFECT MATCH) This resolution was accepted by [redacted] in our recorded conversation on 1/23/so I dont see how there should be a problem. My company has exhausted itself trying to please this homeowner and this will be my last offerKeep in mind iam WELL WITHIN my right to leave the sealant where it isThe roof was subjected to heavy rains numerous times and did not leak, and the roof is installed correctly! therefore this job is COMPLETEThe complaint brought here is of a cosmetic nature only

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: the complaint involves way more than 12" of silicone The contractor has globs of clear silicone on a custom house that has wicker and clay color The product used as a sealant comes in matching colors of the siding and aluminum It is cosmetically horrible and excessive Challenges still include damaged concrete There were many challenges on this job and is the reason the contractor had to terminate his first team of roofers and bring on a new crew He deducting charges of three sheets of plywood at $dollars per sheet because they didn't tarp the roof correctly and had water damage He had to fix the ceiling because he added more damage to the original leak Back to to the complaint of silicone, there are multiple areas of visible clear silicone instead of using color matching product He fails to explain details such as this He does come back but the final appearance on the house right now is clear silicone that is very visible when approaching Pictures do not lie We were not notified that the contractor would be using clear sealant on a $custom new roof job

This complaint is about 12" of silicone on the corner-post of siding that this homeowner feels is an "eyesore"... what the homeowner refuses to accept is that it was done because it was necessary due to the way the down spout, valley and corner post of the siding was designed and installed by the...

builder and other contractors. I ONLY DID THE ROOF. It was put there for a reason, and stopped a leak, so it was effective. That being said because the homeowner wasn't happy with the way it looked, WE STILL WENT BACK ONCE at the end of DECEMBER, and AGAIN ON 1/20/15 to revisit the issue, and found an alternate solution. However the silicone is still very wet and will not come off until it is completely dry and hardened WHICH I EXPLAINED. (scraping the wet silicone off now would only damage the siding)  This complaint has NO WARRANT as I told the homeowner we will return to chip the 12' of silicone off when its dry...otherwise my hands are tied. The homeowner prepared HIS OWN PUNCH LIST of things he demanded to be finished (cosmetically) before final payment was made BACK IN DECEMBER, and we signed off on that list, and completed it to the customers satisfaction back in December, and were paid in FULL by a satisfied customer on that day. This Roof was installed properly and DOESN'T LEAK .Although there were some challenges on this project, my company in good faith and professionalism saw every detail through TO THE END. Including deducting some charges, and fixing things on the home that were not part of the contract, including the original ceiling in the guest room, from the original leak. In all my years as a contractor in good standing, this by far has to be the most petty complaint. This is an incredibly MINOR detail, that has NO effect on the funtional application of the roof installation....But as always I pride myself on being amicable in these situations, and WILL RETURN (as stated to the homeowner) to REMOVE THIS SMALL AREA OF CAULKING when its dry and hardened in a few weeks time.

Review: Pyramid was hired to complete an entire roof shingle rip off and install a new roof. The roof was completed but the contractor has left damaged concrete along with globs of silicone left in very visible areas of approaching the house. The contractor has been notified and has come back to make minimum changes. A new roof should not have globs of silicone along the valleys and rakes of the roof. The finishing touches of the the work completed are just unprofessional and cosmetically horrible.Desired Settlement: The contractor can either take the time and complete the finishing touches so there is no visible globs of silicone. Silicone has a very clear finish and the house is tan and clay. It completely sticks out and will come back as questionable work when we go to sell our house. A new roof should not require silicone piled up in multiple edges of valleys, roof rakes, along j molding and gutters. The work is cosmetically horrible and the contractor delays and comes to do minimum changes to avoid complaints to Revdex.com and consumers affairs. We need help to get the finished work completed.

I am rejecting this response because: the complaint involves way more than 12" of silicone. The contractor has globs of clear silicone on a custom house that has wicker and clay color. The product used as a sealant comes in matching colors of the siding and aluminum. It is cosmetically horrible and excessive. Challenges still include damaged concrete. There were many challenges on this job and is the reason the contractor had to terminate his first team of roofers and bring on a new crew. He deducting charges of three sheets of plywood at $65 dollars per sheet because they didn't tarp the roof correctly and had water damage. He had to fix the ceiling because he added more damage to the original leak. Back to to the complaint of silicone, there are multiple areas of visible clear silicone instead of using color matching product. He fails to explain details such as this. He does come back but the final appearance on the house right now is clear silicone that is very visible when approaching. Pictures do not lie. We were not notified that the contractor would be using clear sealant on a $21000 custom new roof job.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. We are asking the contractor to use both colors of sealants where needed. Siding color is tan or wicker and aluminum is clay to keep the cosmetic appearance of the house.
