Q Nail Salon Reviews (1)

Review: First, let me say that I've been a customer of Art Nail for over six years and they have always stood by their products and services until now. Previously, I was also a client of their other nail salon, Q Nail for over 4 years and never had an issue. On January 7th, I had a "no-chip" gel polish manicure by [redacted] ($30 plus $6 tip) and 5 days later, all my nails had the polish peeling off. From speaking with another Nail Technician, I believe the reason was because [redacted] applied the polish incorrectly, as I had polish on my cuticles and I did not cure under the UV light as long as I needed too. I came back in on Sunday, January 13th and had another "no-chip" gel polish manicure by [redacted] ($25 plus $5 tip). She said that she couldn't re-do my nails for free because I didn't leave any of the polish on, so I couldn't prove that the polish was chipping off. She did a wonderful job & provided excellent customer service to me. The only issue I had is that I told her I had a clear top coat on my nails and she did not remove the polish, she just buffed it off. She wrote on the back of her business card "any problems - should last 7-14 days" and told me I should come back if they started chipping before 7-14 days and she would re-do them for free. So, on Wednesday, January 16th, my nail polish started to lift at my cuticle and peel off my nails again; however, I had to work 8am to 5pm then teach from 6pm to 9pm on Wednesday and Thursday so I could not go to Art Nail. On Friday after work, I went back to see [redacted] at Art Nail. I explained the situation to the Receptionist and she took off the remaining gel nail polish. After waiting over an hour for [redacted], she came over by me to tell me that the [redacted] would not let her do my nails for free, since I came in with 6 nails missing nail polish. I explained that I followed her instructions and returned to the salon as soon as I could. The [redacted]'s daughter said I should have called in on Wed. to let them know my nails were lifting; however, I was never informed to do that. They told me that they would re-do my nails, but I would need to pay full price, an additional $25. I refused to pay another $25 for my nails, when [redacted] said she would re-do them for free and even put it in writing on the back of her business card. She was providing great customer service and living up to her quality of workmanship. Spending $80 (+ tips) on your nails in a 3 week period on the South Side of [redacted] is utterly ridiculous, especially when I believe both times my nails came off due to application error of the nail technicians. I've had no-chip manicures stay on for two weeks when applied correctly at Art Nail as well as from other Nail Salon's in Milwaukee.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of both no-chip manicures - a total of $55.

Response:

My name is [redacted] I am responding on behalf of Art Nail regarding the letter of complaint I received from a client. After reading the complaint from [redacted] I can confirm that this incident did happen. Unfortunately, at the time it did happen I was not fully aware or informed by my receptionist or nail tech of all the details Ms. [redacted] had described. I did personally send an email out to Ms. [redacted] expressing my apologies and incompetence of resolving this incident. With my apologies I did offer her a no-chip manicure and pedicure or if she did not care for the pedicure then two no-chip manicures on me. She did respond but declined on my offer. In the Revdex.com letter I received, her desired settlement she requested was to have her money refunded for both no-chip manicures, a total of $55. I will refund her her money. What is the next step in this process do you suggest in order to refund her her money back?
