Please don't make this a negative on our rating because I am past the deadline. This letter was also addressed to the wrong person. It was addressed to a General Manager at our sister store who is no longer with the organization, so it didn't get to me immediately.When the customer
had arrived at the dealership there were two things to be addressed. The first was a grinding noise in the engine compartment and the second was a hatch that did not open. We had replaced the alternator because that is where the noise was coming from that was the loudestThere was actually rust particles coming out of the alternator as it spun. The customer was told if there is other noise we could not hear it due the extremely noisy alternator. Our service writer and service manager had told the customer the hatch is broke and we could only temporarily fix it without replacing many parts. The guest ok’d this because we would have to order parts and customer had stated he needed vehicle back by Sunday. Being it was after pm on a Thursday we would not have parts in time to get the customer back on the road on time being we are closed Sunday. When the customer left our dealership he was again told the hatch was a temporary repair and it worked when he left the store. The actual hatch repair would have been in excess of $600. When the customer called us after returning home and having the engine concern the same Service writer with the support of service manager had stated to get it diagnosed and we would pay for hour of diagnostic time.
