[redacted] ***10:AM (hours ago)to me Thank you, [redacted] Here is the updated complaint:We hired QT Relocation Specialists, LLC (AKA Paul E [redacted] ) in June to move us from Norristown, PA to Morganton, NCMrE [redacted] and his crew arrived as scheduled on June and 3, 2015, to pick up our belongingsThe young men on the crew were pleasant, hardworking, and efficientThey then placed our items in storage in Quakertown until redelivery to our new apartment in NC on June and When everything was unloaded on June 15, we discovered that two glass shelves from our china closet were missingMrE [redacted] insisted that we had taken these with us in our car, which was untrueWe had originally thought that we would do that, thinking them too fragile to send on the truck (even though I had wrapped them securely in cardboard), but when we loaded our cars on the evening of June 2, we realized that we could not fit the shelves in our cars after allSince MrE [redacted] had said that day that it would not be a problem for him to wrap them in blankets and take them, we had him do that on June (along with another pair of glass shelves, which did arrive safely)When I realized on June that the shelves were missing, MrE [redacted] said to take $off the balance owed himI told him that I had no idea what replacement shelves would cost, and besides, I had already written out a check for the full balanceOur apartment was jammed with boxes, making it difficult to see what was whatWhen we parted, it was with the understanding that we would re-check everything in the apartment (which we did) and that MrE [redacted] would check the warehouse in PA and also with other clients who may have received our shelves by mistakeMy hope was that the shelves would be foundIt was during this conversation on June that MrE [redacted] arrogantly proclaimed that he could not possibly have lost the shelvesIn subsequent calls, he badgered me by repeatedly asking the same questions where were the shelves in our house, how were they packed, are we sure they weren’t in our cars (two small [redacted] ), etcIn his final call, he became so belligerent that I hung up on himI then contacted several local furniture companies who deal with Broyhill, the manufacturer of the china closetThey said that the size of the model I have had changed in recent years and that the shelves were no longer available in the size I neededI went to a local glass manufacturer to see if I could have them made, but they could not cut the plate groovesThey told me there was one company in the whole state that could do the groovesI called that company and ordered the shelvesThe total (with [redacted] shipping) came to $I emailed the invoices to MrE [redacted] on July He has not responded nor has be reimbursed me (not even for the $he originally offered)When I interviewed MrE [redacted] prior to securing his services, he assured me that he was insured against any possible loss of my belongingsHe also assured me that, as his business depended upon referrals, if anything were lost or damaged that he would “make it right.” Given those statements, I was stunned by MrE [redacted] ’ attitudeHis arrogance and pugnacious badgering were out of lineGiven that we paid $for our move, $is not worth fighting over, and certainly not worth losing future references overAs a businessman who truly cared about his customers and his reputation, MrE [redacted] ’ response should have been along the lines of “I don’t know who lost the shelves, but I value your business and goodwill, so here is the $187.” I would like a refund of $187, or at the very least, the $that he originally offeredAn apology for his arrogance would also be nice.Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Mr. E[redacted] insisted that we had taken these with us in our car, which was untrue. We had originally thought that we would do that, thinking them too fragile to send on the truck (even though I had wrapped them securely in cardboard), but when we loaded our cars on the evening of June 2, we realized that we could not fit the shelves in our cars after all. I went to a local glass manufacturer to see if I could have them made, but they could not cut the plate grooves. They told me there was one company in the whole state that could do the grooves. I called that company and ordered the shelves. The total (with [redacted] shipping) came to $187.42. I emailed the invoices to Mr. E[redacted] on July 7. He has not responded nor has be reimbursed me (not even for the $100 he originally offered). When I interviewed Mr. E[redacted] prior to securing his services, he assured me that he was insured against any possible loss of my belongings. He also assured me that, as his business depended upon referrals, if anything were lost or damaged that he would “make it right.” Given those statements, I was stunned by Mr. E[redacted]’ attitude. His arrogance and pugnacious badgering were out of line. Given that we paid $6300 for our move, $187 is not worth fighting over, and certainly not worth losing future references over. As a businessman who truly cared about his customers and his reputation, Mr. E[redacted]’ response should have been along the lines of “I don’t know who lost the shelves, but I value your business and goodwill, so here is the $187.” I would like a refund of $187, or at the very least, the $100 that he originally offered.
