Mrs*** did phone me last week highly agitated and told me she decided they would just like their money back for the deposit on the doorI told her I would inform Mr*** and have him handle the matterShe had me on the phone for some time telling me over and over they would like their money back - I just kept telling her I would let Mr*** know her decision and then she hung up on meI have been here over years and I have only been rude to customer in that time and I then phone Mr*** and explained I didn't deserve the words and attitude she was using with me and I hung up on herIf Mrs*** believes I hung up on her maybe her phone went dead because I thought she hung up on me since I could not give her a definite answer about the deposit other than I would inform Mr*** of her decisionWhen Mr*** came in the next morning I informed him of her decision and then we had to call the installer and tell him to take her off his listWe will now request a check to refund her deposit

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Hello,Ms/Mrs. ***Thank you for helping us in an attempt to resolve issues with the Quaker Construction CompanyI spoke briefly with them today and ask for again a full refund of $instead of them coming to our home to install bedroom patio doorsThey claim when the weather breaks they would comeThis is not trueThey were due to install doors in AugustWe have had many days of breaking weatherThis is a fraudulent company. We now,do not feel comfortable letting them do work on our home, instead we just want them to refund our moneyOnce I asked for the refund the person answering their main phone hung up on meAgain, rudenessNot sure what else we can doThis company seems to be use to ripping off customers without consequence or loss. Review: I had a deck and addition installed by Quaker State it was started 05/08/2009 Date on Building permit. I called the Company July 30th, 2016. Asked to speak to Dave D[redacted], he was in a meeting asked if he could call me back that I was having a lot of problems with the deck ( condition of wood, loose railing , rotten posts, water damage to my addition) posts that hold up the addition. Asked If there was any one I could talk to so they could come out and I could show them my concerns. The secretary D or S said it would be 2 weeks before anyone could get back to me. A few days later I received a letter in the mail, for me to sign and it would allow them permission to do work on my property. I did not sign the letter because I asked for a rt call from someone to come out and go over the issues with me. Also there was a service charge of $50.00hr and $ 40.00 for every additional hour, Depending if it was under warranty or not. I never did receive a phone call from any one only to come home on 07-13-16 to find deck boards in my yard and a notch taken out of the hand railing support post. I was very upset that they would do anything with out my permission. So on 7-14-16 I took off work incase they would show up again I assumed it was them. I then called the office wanting to speak to someone about coming on my property with out my permission, of course every one was in a meeting. I had no idea who was in my yard and was not given any info at that time so I had said if I did not hear from Quaker State that I would have to report it to the police. All I wanted was a rt call to address the rotted boards under my patio door and most of the deck boards are cracked, splintered and have holes in a few , the railing is loose and the posts are rotten at the base where they are buried in the dirt. the wood under the deck is molded with a black type mold. A board runs the length underneath the deck and is holding moister on the top of the deck. I did speak to the installation manager that day he cussed me out and said if I think im so tuff to come to the office for a physical confrontation and made crude statements as what I could do to him when I got there. I never talked to such an ignorant person he was very degrading . I then called the office a few more times told them how he spoke and they just made excuses for him No apology and still unable to speak to anyone. The last phone call I made no one was in the office again and Dave had put a letter in the mail. I said so I guess I wont be receiving a rt call and she said I told you Dave sent out a letter in the mail. I asked if he spoke to the foul mouthed worker and she stated yes that morning but he still couldn't find time to rt my call. I have pictures of the deck , no one offered any kind of solution to the issue. I am very very dissatisfied with the personnel and the management if there is any . I don't feel its good business practice to have a business come to your house and assume what the problems are and attempt to fix them with out ever speaking to the homeowner , who doe's that.Desired Settlement: I would like someone from another reputable deck co to come and see what the problems are, not Quaker State. I would like to have the work done correctly, with good quality product to be used . This is also part of my living space. hank you

Tuesday, July 26,2016 Revdex.com BE: ID # [redacted] On 6/30/16 we received a call from the homeowner concerning her project (however it was brought to our attention that her boyfriend was on social media prior to her call complaining about our company). As always we send a service form to the home owner to fill out so we can schedule a service. We also explain that if we are in the area before we get the form back we wall stop and handle the issues. By attempting to expedite the service call we did not wait for the service form and dispatched a man to her home before receiving her comments. Our fault was not calling to let her know we would be there. However this is not a reason to call our office and verbally abuse our office manager by cussing and degrading her that day, additionally our installation manager called and was trying to be helpful for the first 10 (ten) minutes of the conversation and then she once again reverted to the cussing. Unfortunately this man's temperament is not as mild as the office manger and he bit back. Shortly after that our service manager arrived in the office and called her and at that time were were told not to return. I then sent a letter to the homeowner to explain our situation and offered to return to remedy the issues. In regards to the issues we did use treated lumber and it was installed properly. This project was/is under warranty and we are trying to service.Thank you,David A. [redacted]President P.S. Again we are waiting to hear from the homeowner so we may return to take care of her concerns.

Review: We had contracted with Quaker State to add a roof over our existing deck. We were forced to cancel the work because we were denied a building permit due to our deck being too close to underground sewer pipes. We found out about this in October and agreed to cancel the work. We were advised that we would receive our deposit back minus $375.00. This has yet to be returned. Numerous calls have been made to Quaker State without any resolution.Desired Settlement: We were required to pay the deposit of $4200.00 the same day that we agreed to the contract. We feel that we should also have received our refund in the same timely manner. We just want our money back. It has been very frustrating trying to get someone to talk with and get a resolution to this.

Response:

Upon returning from January off I found this on my desk and I will rectify this by 3/15/14 or before in its entirety of $3825.00.

Review: Company was paid to install patio doors. Never installed doors. Does not return calls ,will not return money for work not done.Desired Settlement: Would like a refund.

Review: Contract for a new enclosed porch was signed on 9/7/2012. As of today 7/8/2013, the porch is STILL not completed. The contract said it would be completed in 10 weeks. In addition to the length of time, the roof was installed incorrectly and now needs redone. There are also a ton of other issues that have not been done the way we requested. We have tried many times to resolve with the owner but are unsuccessful in getting him to respond. In fact he has turned this whole job over to his employees to handle.Desired Settlement: We would like a crew sent out to get the porch done NOW. Should be able to be done in a week. We would also like some type of reimbursement for waiting so long and settling for a porch not done to what we requested,

Business

Response:

We are working on this project now and trying diligently to finalize this project. When we are done we will notify you

Consumer

Response:

The original complaint was filed on July 8. As of July 31st, the porch is still not complete! That is over 3 weeks, I do not consider that diligently trying to get the porch done. In addition, there is no mention of compensation for waiting what is going to be a year to complete a 6-8 week project.
