To Whom it may concern, RE: [redacted] complaint ID # [redacted] Ms [redacted] came to our establishment for a synthetic oil change as part of our January/February promotion .Our ad clearly states that certain Items are not included in the sale price. Her vehicle requires a cartridge filter ,which regularly add ,on the average, six to nine dollars more to the service based on the filter used.We use only high quality name brand oil filters designed for fit and function to perform according to the manufacturer specs.Additionally we charge a disposal fee to cover the cost of disposal to a facility that is regulated by the state and federal government to properly remove the oil and track it cradle to grave. This service is not free and we use a mean average to share this cost .The shop supply cost is for cleaners and solvents that are used on the vehicle to remove excess splatter and or minor spillage that happens on all vehicles so the vehicle leaves without oil /fluid drips Finally in regard to the final cost ,we all must pay the NJ State sales tax We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and service and normally can adjust our pricing to meet our clients expectations, but we are skeptical of this person's motive considering she had her regular mechanic to perform the service ,for four dollars less, with no extra fees...and the only way this person can be made happy is to do the service for free??? We have been in business for years and take pride in our work.We wish this person well, but as we took none of this person's money and did no service whatsoever on the vehicle we believe the complaint to be un-warranted and totally unjustifiedThank you for your consideration, [redacted] [redacted] ,,Quality Auto Centers

Review: I went to Quality Auto to get my car repaired on 11/23/2015. This wasn't my first time coming to them for repairs but I haven't been to them in a while so I didn’t know what I was getting myself into but I wish I knew. I’ve referred some family and friends to them over the past few years and would get little hints about how much they overcharge and would at times leave with more problems on their vehicles than they came with. I wish I would’ve took those hints and stayed away. I’ve heard many times that mechanics tend to take advantage of women and I’m sure my experience was the case. When I brought my vehicle in and explained the problem I was told that I’d have to pay a $90 diagnosis fee. I asked my brother who recently got his vehicle checked by them was he charged this fee and as well and he said they’ve never charged him a diagnosis fee. Right then and there I sensed they had something up their sleeves. My car was overheating and I had to work that evening so I had no choice but to go ahead and leave my vehicle with them. Later on that evening they called me and said my total came up to about $300.00 to “repair my dangling” radiator. When I went to pick up my vehicle some guy went to my car to clear some lights from my dash board and the manager said I was good to go. Once I got about 2 miles away my check engine light came on. I then also noticed my heat wasn’t working and the temperature in my car wasn’t adjusting properly. I called them that evening to let them know what was happening and they told me to bring my car in. Once I walked in the manager goes “I know exactly what’s wrong with your car. I took out the thermostat”. I then ask him why didn’t he tell me that when I picked up the car because now my vehicle isn’t warming up, my check engine light is on, and my heat isn’t working. He then says “I thought I told you. Just buy another thermostat and I’ll put it in for you for $45”. When I first dropped the car off I told him both the radiator and thermostat were new so I just couldn’t understand why he had to remove it. He insisted my thermostat was faulty and I needed to buy another one. He said it was stated on my receipt but when I showed him it wasn’t he says “well I don’t know why it didn’t show on your end”. I ended up going to another mechanic for a second opinion on 11/28/2015 because I sensed I was being ripped off and I felt iffy about letting them touch my car again. I didn’t even mention to this new mechanic about them repairing my “dangling radiator” and simply told him about the thermostat I needed and the heat that wasn’t working. Within 15 minutes of me dropping my car off the mechanic calls me asking what happened to my radiator because it’s hanging on for dear life and one of my hoses is what’s keeping it from falling off but the hose is also being damaged and will need to be repaired as well. I told him that can’t be possible because I just got my “dangling” radiator repaired by Quality auto for $300 and he said I ought to take my car back to them because they ripped me off. I told him to just leave my car as is because I need to know what happened to them fixing my car and the $300 I paid to get it fixed. I called them immediately once I got off the phone with the new mechanic and asked to speak to a manager. I told him what the new mechanic just told me and asked him what happened? He then says “I watched them fix it. Maybe a bolt came off”. I told him I couldn’t afford to be without a car for another day nor did I have $300 to just throw away so I needed my car fixed immediately. He told me they were too busy and that I’d have to wait until 12/1/2015. I was so upset about what they did I didn’t know what to do. The new mechanic sensed my frustration and felt so bad for me he sent me before and after pictures of my radiator stating that he did it free of charge for me being that I was ripped off, and that I would simply have to pay the labor for him installing the new thermostat that I had to purchase. I was told I should seek a lawyer because that $300 that went down the drain was my hard earned money. Being a full-time college student and working 2 jobs to pay for college funds, car expenses, and other bills isn’t easy! Not only that but I missed 2 ½ days of work because of them and their wrong doing. I figured filling this complaint would be my first step to hopefully resolving this issue and getting somewhat of a good outcome. Even if that simply means I receive a partial refund because they are wrong for what they did. I wish I would’ve read other customers’ reviews on yelp and google before bringing my car to them. I’ve learned my lesson and I will inform each and every person I know to stay away from these guys!Desired Settlement: I for one hope I get an explanation/apology as to why they would do such a thing? Why lie and cheat customers? (read reviews on yelp because I am not the first customer this has happened to). Secondly $300 is a lot of money to just throw down the drain so receiving at least a partial refund would be appreciated being that the job they were paid for wasn't done.
