I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I strongly Reject the resolution by Quality Auto Repair! The Manager states that, "All work performed on *** VW was approved by him with signed invoices." Please refer to Invoice #*** (7-8-15) and Invoice #*** (8-12-15). There are NO signatures, dates, nor time filled out. Also, NO details of work performedThe Automotive Repair Act of 1971, states that I am: a) entitled to a written estimate of all repair work to be performed, and, b) a detailed invoice of all work done and parts supplied. Quality Auto Repair is in total denial that they have any responsibility in: 1) Promising to install a 1915cc engine ($1,595) and then installing a 1640cc engine($895); 2) The very next day, two loose electrical wires short out and burn the wires and fuses, causing future electrical problems; 3) Old leaking gas lines and filters were NOT replaced, as promised (Invoice #***); 4) The next day my car stalled in traffic due to electrical shorts in the wiring, and had to be taken back to shop for repairs; 5) Four days later, Manager said my VW "was fixed", drove car to my house, where the VW electrical wires in the Ignition Switch started smoking and melting, resulting in car being towed back to shop; 6) On 7-16-15, I visited shop and saw my VW engulfed in smokeThe mechanics working on the electrical wiring DID NOT disconnect the battery and all the wires, fuses, switches were smoking, burning and melting! 7) days later I was told my car "was fixed", and handed an Invoice (I never signed) for $631; 8) The very next day, as I was driving, someone yelled, "Your car is ON FIRE!" The engine compartment was filled with smoke and wires were burning and the generator was on fire! I had the VW towed to *** VW Repair, where he estimated that I would need $3,in repairs and parts required to fix the "POOR electrical works" done by Quality Auto and to replace missing and damaged engine parts that were incorrectly installed. This included: missing bottom sheet metal tins; missing rear engine cross over sheet metal, missing hot air deflector; OIL LEAKS from engine from case halves and nuts: replace burned generator; loose fan housing; sheet metal not put in right; missing hardware; complete wire harness replacement due to previous burning and melting electrical wires (on different occasions!); incorrect valve adjustment; poor engine compression; and distributor drive gear is degrees OUT; and, the distributor is 60+ degrees advanced.***g>
I have been stating from the beginning that my complaint against Quality Auto & Truck Repair is a truthful account and I have all the documentation to prove it

This business conducted itself professionally when replacing the engine in my 2013 Dodge Avenger, [redacted] is a great service rep. And the staff is friendly

This vehicle came in as a no start on a tow truck. The key was not turning in the lock cylinder. My tech got the key to turn after 30 min of working on it, and the vehicle started, so we did not have a problem with the alarm system at...

all. The vehicle needed to have its lock cylinder fixed. we fixed the lock cylinder and made two keys. The vehicle had no problems starting after this. From my under standing the customer went to a different shop that told him that this was not the problem, how does another shop know this without seeing the initial problem.

front of the VW that was result of a short in the turn switch, has nothing to do with the engine that was installed. there are 40 year old wire in the VW that need to be replaced that we recomended to him.
