id: [redacted] The manufacturer and door dealer have tried to just replace the strike plate first, this was not acceptable to the customerI spoke with the dealer and he said entire jamb would then need replaced and I authorized them to order a new jamb to be installed at my costEnclosed is a copy, of the receipt for the new doorjamb, at no time did we tell the gerarges that they would be responsible for the cost of the new jambI have also authorized the dealer to install the new jamb since all attempts by my company to service the gerarges have been unsatisfactoryThe jamb has to be produced and that takes time and is being handled by the door dealerThe [redacted] have been compensated for the capping ($700.00) which was done as per industry standardsThe caulking is a sealant and if they recap the windows it will have to be recaulkedMy goal is to service the gerarges to there satisfaction.Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [redacted] was contacted at the same exact time that it was brought to our attention that there was glass markings about the locking on the back door It was November 19th He was at our home a few days later, looked at the glass in our daughter's room - which anyone can clearly see is scratched on the inside, himself included He agreed it was scratched and also agreed to order us new glass for it He is correct that we were under the impression there was another window with the same issue and we needed to speak to our house cleaner to make sure which window it was We finally did tell him later in an e-mail she told us which window and that we did not see it so to go ahead and replace the glass in the other window That was on November 26th We never received a reply from him and we have yet to receive the glass for the window he said he did see the scratch on at that time Since we still have that window, and the scratches are on the inside, anyone can attest to this The same day that Mr [redacted] came to look at the glass is the exact same day that he looked at our back door - not weeks later He tried locking it himself and could barely lock it He told us that day that he would get a guy up there to fix it right away, within the next week We also notated to him that we still don't have the grid for our back door and he said it had been ordered - to this day, we still do not have it Paid for it but don't have it By December 17th, no one had shown up to fix our back door yet - after two e-mails to which we got no reply, we called him that day (12/17) and he told us that his worker, ***, would be at our house on December 18th to fix it On December 18th, no one came We sent him an e-mail and we let him know that if we could not lock our door and someone broke into our home, we were holding him and his company liable (have said e-mail if you need a copy) On December 19th, we can only assume after receiving said e-mail, his worked did show up and he gutted the door jamb around the strike plate to the point that he had to fill it with so much wood putty it would not dry He could not and did not use the original screws that came with strike plate - keep in mind we paid extra for composite wood door and jambs - not wood putty We called him and sent him pictures and text messages (we have his responses) to which he at the point blamed the manufacturer who originally installed the strike plate and next thing we knew we got a phone call from his door salesman asking to come up and take a look and see what he could do to fix it He came the next week (week of Christmas) and his exact words were "Did [redacted] see this?" He told us he did not know if he could get a strike plate to cover it, he was going to contact the manufacturer and he would see what he could do He apologized profusely while reminding us that he was in between a rock and a hard place because Mr [redacted] orders so much from his company but he was shocked at the quality of work he saw at our home Mr [redacted] states that a new strike plate was installed on 1/17/but that is incorrect As of this date, no new strike plate has yet been installed, no new grid has been delivered to our home for our back door (there was a delivery made but it was not the grid), and no new glass has been installed or delivered for our window either In regards to our front door, the door sales guy did take a look at the doors and did agree that it wasn't the way he would have done it but that in this case, he did not see anything wrong with the installation He did make recommendations to us on what could be done to improve the issues and he was going to e-mail us a list of those things as well as other door installers we could deal with but at this time, we haven' gotten that either With regards to the capping and caulking on our windows - that was not the first complaint we made to [redacted] during this process There were multiple complaints made about our garage, our basement door, our soffit, etc Multiple complaints - some of which he never bothered to fix and we let go Our neighbors will attest to issues we had with his workers, which was a major complaint (never showing up, coming for a few hours a day, coming drunk, etc.) We have had other contractors look at our windows and they did agree that while the caulking looked atrocious (you can see the inches of caulking at the top of some of the windows coming down the road) and the fact that half the windows are nailed one way and the other half nailed another way, the capping would suffice through the winter and we could have someone else do it in the spring We have already hired someone else to fix and install shutters on the house and garage in the spring ***, when looking at the capping, completely agreed that the nailing should have been consistent all the way around the house and that they do it both ways but never on the same house He also agreed his wife would think it looked atrocious also He gave us the $off because of the shotty job his workers did, he saw that, agreed to it at that time and told us to use that money for shutters or to have someone fix it (exact words as he stood in our kitchen) It was at that same time he stated that 75% of the people he does work for are just happy they are there doing the work and don't pay attention to the details The fact that Mr [redacted] or ***, as I referenced him as both here, doesn't even know what has and has not been repaired at our home should show for something (the strike plate has already been repaired???) We have pictures, e-mails and text messages to support almost everything we have made a complaint about which is how I know the dates Everyone keeps telling us how [redacted] really wants to fix this and make it right but he has yet to come to our home and take a look at what his guy did to our back door - his worker gutted it, just gutted it He offered, said he was going to come with the sales guy, ***, but never showed Nothing has been made correct yet Yes, he gave us our $discount but we can't even get that fixed until spring - by another contractor None of what he has done to this point has shown any want or need to make anything correct unless we have continually pushed and pushed him to get it fixed - and we still have things that aren't fixed Yet, he has been paid Regards, [redacted]
