Review: My husband and I hired [redacted] to renovate our bathroom. According to the terms of the original contract, [redacted] violated some conditions. He didn't start the project on time, didn't finish the project, exceeded the original quoted price, asked for more money, came to our home infrequently, stayed at our home only a couple of hours a week, had his nephew do the work while he disappeared from our home or was busy making business calls when he should have been working. Disgusted with the excuses, delays, bait and switch with the nephew, noise, inconvenience, and dirt, not to mention the awful workmanship of the project,I asked [redacted] to discontinue working and to leave my home immediately. I was so upset when I saw the shoddy workmanship of the shower tiles,of which only 80% had been installed over a month and a half period of time. Mind you, the tile work had to be completed first before plumber, electrician, handyman,and installation of fixtures could even be thought about to do. At the rate [redacted] was working, I think it would have been closer to four months to have had our bathroom renovation project completed. Since [redacted] and his nephew left our home, my husband and I have had four different and independent contractors in to look at the work. Each man stated emphatically that the work was ridiculous and all materials [redacted] put up would have to be completely removed and everything gutted back to the studs.My husband and I lost almost $4,000 to [redacted] in a month and a half period of time when only a fraction of the original work was finished.[redacted] wanted more money from my husband and me because he claimed he needed it for materials. In my opinion, I feel [redacted] misrepresented himself to my husband and me. He lied to us, and generally acted unprofessionally. Having [redacted] and his nephew in our home on a daily basis and seeing very little progress of any approachable quality made caused me great anxiety and stress.Desired Settlement: My husband and I want a complete refund of $3,800 because we both feel the original terms of the contract were breached,the work was subpar and inferior and must be completely done over. We were scammed out of our hard-earned money. We were taken.
