Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:In response to Mr? [redacted] ’s comments, it must be nice to blame the customer for purchasing the wrong product due to his company’s shoddy product and installation? I realize the product we purchased was not a steel building; however, I did expect the product we purchased to at least be suitable for our use, which was for storage of farm equipment, lawn equipment and other items found in garages.? ? ? It is NOT? a carport; it was sold as a horse barn to which we added the doors to make it an enclosed building.? I also realize that we didn’t build a concrete base; however, we did spend $3,to have a base built for the barn.? ? At no time while we were in negotiations for the purchase of this “barn”, were we told that there could be a drainage problem with the dirt base.? Also, no mention was made of an upgrade in the metal.? ? I really like the statement that we “purchased a product unsuited for her needs, without disclosing to us what her needs were.”? No one bothered to ask us what our needs were!? We are not interested in moving the barn; we just want the problem corrected.? Based on Mr [redacted] ’s comments, we are stuck with this product unless we agree to pay to have it removed and rebuiltThis is not an option! ? We haven’t decided what further action we may take.? Mr [redacted] , you can be assured that we will tell everyone who asks about our barn just where it came from and the reasons they shouldn’t buy from Lelands.? You know what they say about an unsatisfied customer! Regards, [redacted] ***

RE: ID [redacted] Attn: [redacted] To whom it may concern: After reviewing the customer's statement, we believe that the customer purchased the wrong product for her needsShe is comparing our carport barn to a steel building and that is who she contacted to review the buildingHe verified our position on the temperature changes causing the condensation, not improper constructionThe carport was installed on the ground as per the customer's instructions (see attached signed order)it is not hard to believe that water could come underneath the wall, with no foundationA steel building company like the customer contacted to review the carport would not have agreed to do it on dirt, but required a concrete foundationThis is additional cost that the customer could have chosen to doAlso, the referenced "holes in the roof and along the edge? is the laps on the metalAll metal sheets have this and any building will have these "holes"If you were to review our displays on our sales locations, you would see these "holes" as they are the nature of sheet metalIf the customer had chosen to pay for the upgrade, the metal could have been installed vertically, which while the "holes" would still be there, they would be less visibleThey are not a leak concern and installed in accordance with how our carports are constructed, as evidenced by our display models being built the sameThis also would have allowed for gutter to be installed, which was not specified at the point of saleAfter reviewing the complaints by [redacted] ***, it is apparent to us that she purchased a product unsuited for her needs, without disclosing to us what her needs wereWe did not sell or construct for her an inferior carportComparing it to a steel building, there are quite a few differences, the main one being costAn installed 1,sq ft carport for $10,is quite a bit less than a steel building with concrete floorSince it seems evident that what the ***'s purchased was not the building that they actually need, we are offering to remove the carport and refund 60% of their moneyWe feel that this is a fair offer since they have had the carport for a year and a halfWe would be willing to move the carport and reinstall it on their provided concrete slab if they chose to pay for thatThe cost to disassemble and reassemble the carport is 30% of original sales priceAlso, should they choose to pay the upgrade to install vertical metal, we could do that as wellThis would provide a similar building to the steel building they are comparing our carport to, but still would not fix arty condensation problems, since that is due to weatherWe will await the ***'s response to our offers? I really like the statement that we “purchased a product unsuited for her needs, without disclosing to us what her needs were.” No one bothered to ask us what our needs were! We are not interested in moving the barn; we just want the problem corrected. Based on Mr***’s comments, we are stuck with this product unless we agree to pay to have it removed and rebuiltThis is not an option! We haven’t decided what further action we may take. Mr***, you can be assured that we will tell everyone who asks about our barn just where it came from and the reasons they shouldn’t buy from Lelands.
