Quality Garage Door Repairs

Garage door stuck down. Called several vendors but only this vendor could come out that day. Quoted me a shocking $1141 due to broken spring. He said its best to upgrade to the double hi-cycle springs. Said he would replace rollers for free. Lift cable on left was intact on spool, right one was intact but unwound from spool when spring broke. Kurt walked to truck and came back with 1 cable and showed me it was cut. I said I didn't see any broken cables. Cut looked clean and shiny metal in the middle; looked like cut with cutter. I had bad gut feeling but they fixed door. I looked at price of items on receipt and it looks like arbitrary prices were assigned to items. I talked to other vendors and priced parts retail and discovered that this was a $400-$500 job, even with the upselling. I was told later by another vendor that the original size spring was fine for my door and it could have been repaired for $225 total including labor. Springs retail $50 each, their charge to me, $700 for 2. 2 new cables, $10 retail, their charge $125. Set of 10 nylon rollers retail $15, their charge $250. They sprayed lubricant on springs and tracks; took about 1 minute, their charge for "tune and lube", $129.00. Their charge for 2 person for 1 hour of labor $250. In the couple days after repair and contacting other vendors and pricing parts, I realized that I was scammed; upsold on equipment I didn't need and way overcharged. I went to store, now called Quality Garage Door Repairs. Same address & license #, And talked to owner Kevin about this and said I would give him the opportunity to refund half, $570.50. He agreed and said he would refund my credit card. He has yet to do so.
