Yes, I did say to repair because a new one like yours would run about $ We did replace the rope and pulley when it was in here and when we tested it worked You also stated that originally you were able to start the unit with the pull When it failed again therefore I checked to see if a complete recoil starter was available to install but it was no longer available Since the unit did have a operable electric starter you are still able to start the machine This is the first time you have mentioned in these correspondences with Revdex.com that you are having a reverse issue If you would like we will gladly take a look at it to make sure that what you have repaired is working properly As the last time when we looked at it we did not charge you anything for the repairs that were completed in July or any pick up fee You were just charged for the additional items that you okayed

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The President of the company, [redacted] , convinced me in July to have all the necessary repairs made on this snow blower because a new one would cost me two thousand dollarsWhen I requested a replacement for the rope return spring because of the rope not returning, she did not mention that parts are not available, therefore I expected to have a machine returned to me in complete working orderThe first time I used it in it stopped throwing snow, and stalled, and I pulled the rope to start it; but the rope did not return, therefore it was not repaired properlyPresently, in snow over inches deep, it gets stuck, and will not go in reverse, and I have to physically pull it backward to remove it from deep snowWhen this happens I have use an extension cord to start itAfter $I would expect to have a snow blower that works properly Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: My wife and I do not think that it is fair for a repair company to convince, and talk an elderly person into having a $repair service done on a machine just for pure profit, without checking first, if parts are availableWe think that you, Revdex.com, should investigate this possibly being a variant form of discrimination of elderly people, and should request Quality Garden Company of [redacted] **refund our July 29, repair bill of $We refuse to have this company touch our snow blower again, since we believe they would convince us once again that additional work would be needed with additional expense for usWe would rather use the refund to have a reliable company do the repairs Sincerely, [redacted]

Yes, I did say to repair because a new one like yours would run about $2000.00.  We did replace the rope and pulley when it was in here and when we tested it worked.  You also stated that originally you were able to start the unit with the pull.  When it failed again therefore I checked to see if a complete recoil starter was available to install but it was no longer available.  Since the unit did have a operable electric starter you are still able to start the machine.  This is the first time you have mentioned in these correspondences with Revdex.com that you are having a reverse issue.  If you would like we will gladly take a look at it to make sure that what you have repaired is working properly.  As the last time when we looked at it we did not charge you anything for the repairs that were completed in July or any pick up fee.  You were just charged for the additional items that you okayed.

I am rejecting this response because:In July 2014, the company talked me into a $385.42 repair job, by insisting this snow blower was an exceptionally good quality snow blower,  and worth the high cost repair job. Now they are saying it is too old, parts are not available, and not worth repairing. The company did not imply that parts are not available, and cannot be repaired, when they wanted to work on it in July 2014, and profit $385.42.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:
The President of the company, [redacted], convinced me
in July 2014 to have all the necessary repairs made on this snow blower because
a new one would cost me two thousand dollars. When I requested a replacement
for the rope return spring because of the rope not returning, she did not
mention that parts are not available, therefore I expected to have a machine
returned to me in complete working order. The first time I used it in 2015 it
stopped throwing snow, and stalled, and I pulled the rope to start it; but the
rope did not return, therefore it was not repaired properly. Presently, in snow
over 12 inches deep, it gets stuck, and will not go in reverse, and I have to
physically pull it backward to remove it from deep snow. When this happens I
have use an extension cord to start it. After $621.00 I would expect to have a
snow blower that works properly.
Sincerely,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:
My wife and I do not think that it is fair for a repair
company to convince, and talk an elderly person into having a $400.00 repair
service done on a machine just for pure profit, without checking first, if
parts are available. We think that you, Revdex.com, should investigate this possibly
being a variant form of discrimination of elderly people, and should request
Quality Garden Company of [redacted]. refund our July 29, 2014 repair bill of
$385.42. We refuse to have this company touch our snow blower again, since we
believe they would convince us once again that additional work would be needed
with additional expense for us. We would rather use the refund to have a
reliable company do the repairs.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

We do guarantee our repairs.  We replaced both of the belts that were installed at the first repair for no charge the second time.. We contacted the customer regarding what we thought he could additional use since the machine was from 1985 and we had never seen in here for service.  We...

tried to repair the rope and like he said it work the first time but the unit is so old that the recoil starter that would need to be complete replaced is no longer available but the machine does have electric start that is working.  The customer also call me back to ask me to also please replace the idlers which we did.Only new work was charged.

Review: [redacted] On July 17, 2014 Quality Garden & Equipment Company picked up my [redacted] snow blower having two problems. 1. The rope not returning after pulling rope to start snow blower. 2. The problem of not throwing snow.

It was repaired, and returned on July 29, 2014. The rope seemed to return properly on that day. The bill was $385.42.

The first snowfall in 2015,that I needed the snow blower, it failed to throw snow, and the rope failed to return after using it for one half hour. I called Quality Garden and complained that the repairs done on July 17, 2014 were not properly done. Along with the complaint, I asked them to order a three-inch diameter idler pulley that I wanted to install myself. They picked it up then returned it on February 9, 2015; but the rope return problem was still not repaired. The bill was $236.42.

Apparently they do not guarantee their repairs.
