Complaint ID: [redacted] Re: [redacted] Response to complaint: QHO administration read through the complaint written by this past student. Unfortunately, so many of the details and listed events for the complaint are falseShe was dropped for her divisive, disruptive, defensive behavior towards the instructors and the program director. We, like any other program, have expectation of the students. These include being respectful, cooperative and to be able to take feedback without becoming defensive. Qualities like these are imperative to this profession. Throughout the program, we do several group units on this topic and we work with students on an individual basis to help them achieve their best chance at success. These expectations are given to the students prior to class and on the first day. They sign off on these expectation prior to class and on the first day. It is clearly noted that if a student is dropped from the program for a behavioral issue they will not receive a refund. It is also clearly noted that there is no “number” of times a student is allowed for behavior issuesIt is based on the severity of the issue. This is covered on the receipt and the “expectation” contract that is signed by the studentsHowever, in her case, the instructors gave her multiple chances to improve her demeanor and succeed in this class. The “violation” form that is referenced here is used to document corrective action plans and other rule issues such as tardiness, uniforms, phones, etc. We don’t dropped students for these issues on a onetime event. After a certain point, the student would be dropped if the issues continued. This process is explained in depth as well. She has a copy of her contracts, rules, write-ups, and the receipt regarding the refund policy that she signed This student had issues with all the instructorsNo instructor stated they felt comfortable continuing with her at clinicalWhen the program director called her to discuss what was happening in class, she continued to distort the truth and would not consider changing her behavior. She did ask what she “should do” if someone pointed out that she seemed defensive. She stated she should be “offended” and had the “right” to be “defensive”. The director tried again to give some constructive advice and stated: “I think I would wonder how I could change that perception and ask for some feedback.” (This conversation was witnessed). At that point this student swore at the program director. On the day she came to QHO, she demanded her money back. She was very hostile, loud and demanding her money back. The director gave her the phone number for filing a complaint and then asked her to leave because there was nothing else they could do for her at that point but she refused and became really disruptive to the entire office. We asked several times and again, referred to the proper complaint procedure. She refused and was creating an environment that was unsafe. The owner did come down and call the police. At no time did she threaten this person. She only again stated “you need to leave, this is private property”. She continued to scream at the owner that we were frauds, stole her money and she wasn’t going to leave. Eventually she left when she realized the police were coming. The director did mail her all the information for filing a complaint It is difficult to respond to all the allegations made by this past student other than to say, these were made in an attempt to distort actual events, and minimize her responsibility in this difficult decision that had to be made. The faculty went above and beyond expectations to assist this candidate. She was given an extensive amount of time to take ownership of her behavior. Thankfully, all of the interaction with this student were witnessed and have been documented As to her desired settlement, because she defaulted on her responsibilities and contract, she would not receive a refund. Tuition includes the staffing, books and supplies, which she received. She did not pass the class due to her own conduct We do not take these decisions lightly, nor are these actions required frequently. Due to the short duration of the course, it is uncommon for issues like this to arise. We have been training candidates for years. We have an exceptional reputation in the community because of the quality candidates that come from our program. Sincerely, QHO Administration

Tell us why here This person’s accusations of what was said and done are so far removed from actual events there really is no rational reason to continue any further dialog The fact remains that proper protocols were followed She was not “bullied” or disliked by the staff As we stated before, we do hold students accountable for their behavior and students can be dropped from class at any time for a behavioral issue as stated on the expectation sheet she received and signed As she stated, she had days to improve her situation and took no initiative to do so There will be no refund as stated before When you take a course, receive and used all the resources, staffing etcand don’t pass a course because you chose not to meet the requirements, it is absurd to expect a refund Especially when the no refund policy is explained and agreed upon prior to the class and on the first day As with any company, school or program all of our contracts and policies have been approved by the state and are legal and binding This person signed off on those three times On the receipt, on the orientation packet prior to class and on the first day of class She may pursue any further action she feels necessary It is not uncommon for a person under these circumstances to deflect responsibility Sincerely, QHO administration
