Quality Inn Grand Junction

Dear ***, I received a phone call from the hotel on the evening of Tuesday July 24, 2018. The front desk agent told me that there was a declined credit card being used to hold a reservation. She told me that she had already called the guest. She said that the guest had claimed to prepay the room through priceline. I logged in with my computer from home. I could clearly see that the reservation was booked through booking.com. Booking.com does not charge guests ahead of time. The hotel is responsible to charging the guest and paying a fee to booking.com. The front desk agent informed me that she had already explained that to the guest. But the guest was continuing to argue about it. I explained that the guest could not stay for free. And that we would need a valid credit card. The guest refused to co-operate. A receipt was never presented to the front desk as the guest claims. When the guest refused to pay for the room the reservation was cancelled. I am also able to see the reservation on booking.com through my extranet. I also called booking.com and verified that they did not pay them for this reservation.
