Review: I paid the full Kelley Blue Book Value ($13,863 with taxes & tags) for a 2006 VW Jetta TDI that [redacted] assured me was in great shape with no defects. Driving the car home the check engine light came on, and when I took it to a VW dealership the technicians found that the car had been damaged, repairs attempted, missing parts, a bent wheel, and that the turbocharger was blown.I asked [redacted] and [redacted] at Quality Pre-Owned for information regarding their return policy, or for some kind of compromise to be made on the purchase price, and did not hear from either of them. I called the dealership and requested that [redacted] return my call, and he did not. Finally, I received an email from [redacted] stating that it was my fault for not purchasing an extended warranty on the vehicle and that the car was sold "as-is" with no warranty. The car has only 32,000 miles, and I purchased it in good faith, believing it had a clean history and would be problem free. Even if the dealership was unaware of any issues with the car, shouldn't they at least respond to my request to return the vehicle or reach a compromise? They are uncompromising, unwilling to communicate, and unhelpful in resolving this situation. Now I am stuck with a broken car that VW says will cost over $3,400 to repair. What a mistake! I wish I had never done business with this dealership.Desired Settlement: I would like to return the vehicle or reach some sort of monetary settlement. I have proof that [redacted] was aware of defects with the vehicle based on another customer's review of the car on cars.com. The customer did not end up purchasing the car but described in detail issues that he observed and also his difficulty in dealing with [redacted]. Since the dealership sold me the car as if it was in near perfect shape knowing it was not, I believe it's a bad business practice that needs to be corrected.
