Quality Structures Reviews (%countItem)

Our building has had issues from the get go. We are at 3 years and QSI has still not taken care of these problems. The main walk door was never installed correctly and had a HUGE gap underneath the door. The gap was so big I could put 1/2 my foot thru the gap. The door allowed water, dirt, and rodents to come in. I complained many times. QSI sent repair people out on occasions but the gap was never fixed right and they caused additional damage to our building doing the "repairs". Do to how the door is installed they are required to take off the metal siding to change out the doors. We have metal siding damage and trim damage as a result. Also, they had to remove our outdoor light and the exit sign. The exit sign and t he light is still laying in storage not hung. We have spray foam insulation in the building. When they have removed the outside steel, the signs and the outdoor light, the foam was damaged. The spray foam experts told me in order to have the same energy efficiency that we had before, that section needs to be resprayed. QSI refuses to do this and wants to use "canned spray" and make patches. That means the Spray is no longer stuck to the outside walls and air can move thru and also, we have "patches". Not acceptable. I have had someone "fix the gap" under the door so we do not have the leak, but the door has damage from QSI drilling holes in it during their "repairs". At one point, one of their "repair men" brought out a door closer and asked me how to install it! I am asking for them to pay me for the cost of what these repairs have cost and also will amount to and I will hire my own people to fix these issues. I have not let them know yet but the back door also has gaps around it as well. We are still within our warranty period.

Quality Structures Inc. takes all customer service complaints very seriously. We literally build hundreds of buildings every year and have an outstanding reputation for quality products, quality service and outstanding customer satisfaction. In response to the customer complaint filed, we have gone well beyond the boundaries that our 5 year workmanship warranty entails. This customer refuses to address the causes of the problem, (which are not due to workmanship), and to work with us to implement a long term solution. We have been and will continue to work with them towards a suitable resolution to the concerns noted. Respectfully, Rob P, President of Quality Structures Inc.

I am rejecting this response because:

My complaint is valid. They have sent repair men out numerous times and the problem remains. When there is a gap that is approx 1 and 1/2 to 2 inches at the bottom of the door, totally open, that is not how it should be. I have many emails from QSI that shows this problem exists and has not been fixed. Their insurance company investigated and wrote me a check for the damages due to the open gap and the rain pouring in. Since then, I have had someone on my own work on the bottom of the door to stop the rain, weather, dirt, bugs and rodents from coming in but the door is still not fixed, nor is the trim, spray foam and outside tin. All this was damage due to them coming and working on this door to start with.
Regards

QSI has offered to replace the door in question with a brand new door, replace the steel and trim in question with new steel, have the effected area resprayed with foam insulation, have the electrical exit sign and door light fixed and unfortunately the customer has denied our offer. This offer has been in place for several months but has not been exercised by the customer. I believe it to be a very fair and and quite honestly a very generous offer, given the circumstances. Respectfully, Rob

As stated in the previous messages, I have allowed QSI access and time to fix this problem many times. Every time they come I they leave and say that will be back to finish or do not complete the job correctly. When they work on this issue, it basically closes my business for hours as no one can come in or out our Store door.........and so for several hours I can have no business. They have had ample opportunities to correct this issue but send men that are not able to know how the process is done aparently as the issue has not been resolved. This issue is not due to my problem of the store layout as they state, the fact of the matter is that the door had a HUGE gap underneath it so big you could put 1/2 your foot underneath the door, so there was maybe 2 inches of totally open space under the door that you could literly see outside if you looked under the door. There was also big gaps around the door itself along with other installation issues. It is apparent that this is their issue as their insurance came and INSPECTED and had to pay for water damage from this door issue. If the damage was my faulty their insurance would not have paid. THE INSURANCE ONLY PAID THE DAMAGES AS A RESULT OF THEIR WORKMANSHIP, BUT COULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THE WORKMANSHIP AS THAT FALLS ON QSI. I feel I have gave them 3 1/2 years to fix this so I prefer have an estimate and them to pay me a check and I will find my own contractors to take care of this as they have been unable to fix this. I would encourage you to ask for their records of the times they have came out to attempt to repair this. That will speak volumes. I have changed phones but will attempt to find some pictures so send to show the huge gaps under the door as well, if I have them saved somewhere. I would think that there is something that says if I give them a reasonable number of attempts to correct this situation that I would be allowed to hire this done at their expense elsewhere. Please let me know if that is a fact. I will try to find those pictures and forward them on.

Update on a complaint to made in fall 2017. Since my complaint on Revdex.com site I contacted the owner, Rob P,of QSI directly. I told him of the problems and the issues I was experiencing and expressed I just wanted them resolved. He promised to personally look into the matter and get right back to me. He contacted me within 24 hours. Some of what he did was to replace all wood supplies and insulation that had molded from sitting on the ground for better than a month He sent a crew up from KS on the date he said he would. All his promises were kept. He also personally stayed in contact with us during the build. Once the build was complete and we found a few items that needed to be fixed he sent Josh N down to fix everything to our satisfaction. Josh has since contacted us several times since the completion. Over the last few months we have had several workman in to do interior work and all have stated that the quality of the build was excellent. We are very pleased with the outcome of this project. It was unfortunate that it started off on the wrong foot but this company did step up and come through in the end. I believe now that if you choose to go with QSI you will get the quality you are looking for and if you have a issue they will address it. Thank you QSI Rob and Josh.

We like many building companies have experienced some turnover with our crews in your particular area of Iowa. We are really sorry and QSI is very grateful that we were given the opportunity to turn a potentially bad experience into one that was really good. Thank you very much for the opportunity! QSI Cares!
