"During the guest stay there was a leak from the guest room above, which unfortunately did spill into his room.  The guest did notify the front desk and the hotel staff sent maintenance to repair the leak.  Once the maintenance staff surveyed the leak, he noticed that the leak was coming...

from the room above.  Our maintenance staff then went to the room above and started to fix the leak. Upon fixing the leak the guest was berating and yelling at our maintenance staff.  The guest came down to the desk to speak to the front desk agent.  Upon coming to the front desk, our front desk agent was on the phone completing a reservation with a Spanish speaking customer.  The guest was upset with the front desk agent and started yelling and became verbally aggressive to the agent.  The front desk agent was rattled and did not feel comfortable helping the guest because of his aggressive nature to him.  Instead, he asked the other desk clerk to assist the guest with the check out. Due to all of the problems that the guest stated that he had during his stay we gave him a complementary night during his stay." Thank you!

In regards to Mr. [redacted], we have currently reached out to our pesticide company [redacted] to inspect the rooms Mr. [redacted] stayed in. Before speaking to any manager Mr. [redacted] complained online to Choice Hotels, he then took it upon himself to throw away luggage without anyone inspecting it for...

contamination. His luggage could have been dry cleaned and handled by our staff. We have not had any previous history about bed bugs in the rooms Mr. [redacted] was staying in. On occasion a guest can bring in bed bugs on their own. If they were staying at another property which had an infestation, their luggage couid be contaminated and bring them in. If Mr. [redacted] brought this issue to the attention of management the first day of his stay we would have gladly canceled the rest of his stay and found him other accommodations, but Mr. [redacted] did stay at the property for 3 consecutive nights in 3 rooms and utilized all hotel amenities. This constitutes at maximum a 50% discount for his 1 night’s stay as we would have gladly canceled the rest of his stay and found him other accommodations, if he had not waited until his check out 2 days later to seek compensation. In addition to this, we have requested a doctor’s note in regards to the bites and have yet to receive those documents.Regards,[redacted]l ManagerQuality Suites Pittsburgh

EMPLOYEE AT QUALITY SUITES THREATENED MEMBERS OF MY PARTY,AND ROOM 220 WAS INFESTED WITH ANTS AND THE FIRE SPRINKLER HEAD IN ROOM WAS COVERED WITH TAPE,MAKING IT USLESS IN EVENT OF A FIRE.Desired SettlementFULL REFUND FOR ALL THE ROOMS WE RENTED. 4 ROOMSBusiness Response 5/26/2015[redacted]Dispute Resolution Coordinator,Dear [redacted],I am writing in response to Revdex.com case# XXXXXXXX regarding a guest's most recent stay with us.The guest states that a member of his party was threatened; there was tape on a sprinkler head, and an ant infestation. My understanding of the event is as follows. The guest did complain about ants in the room, and he was told the hotel would have to investigate. After that, he attempted to get juice after breakfast hours. He was told by the employee, that breakfast hours were over. After being told this, he became verbally abusive to the employee. The guest called me to complain about this employee; however, he used very offensive racial slurs, and I told him I could no longer continue the conversation if he was using that kind of language. A member of his party did apologize to the breakfast employee. There was tape over a sprinkler head; however, there are two in that room. It was the result of a touch-up paint job, and we would have gladly removed it had we been asked. The room was inspected, and no sign of ants were found. We do not feel this guest is entitled to a refund. Sincerely,[redacted]Front Office Manager

Review: Myself and 3 co-workers stayed at this hotel on Saturday April 25, 2015 while in town for a training seminar. When we arrived at the hotel, we were given 2 rooms, one smoking and one non smoking, even though the reservations had been made in advance. None of us are smokers, so we were not happy about that, but were told that they were completely booked up for the night. Both rooms smelled like smoke and had a musty, unusual smell to them. I am pregnant, so the smell was especially disturbing to me. Both rooms were extremely outdated and dirty. None of us wanted to stay in those rooms, they felt so nasty. The one bed had to be pulled out of the wall. When we pulled it down, it practically hit the floor and looked broken. The middle of it was sunk in and the bedding on it did not look clean. The toilet in the downstairs bathroom was broken and was dirty, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The bed upstairs looked fine to the eye, the bedding looked clean. Both rooms were like this, with a normal bed and a murphy's bed. Both rooms looked dirty. Both rooms also had a love seat in them and they were both so dirty and old that you sunk when you sat on them. My coworker pulled the bed out of their love seat and the bedding on that had clearly not been changed. It was visibly soiled. A window was broken out of the room below our one room and it had tape all over it. The lantern outside of the room was also broken. It did not feel safe there. We did not request another room since we were told earlier that they were completly booked up. We called around to surrounding hotels and tried to find rooms elsewhere, but unfortunately many of the places were booked up or only had 1 king bed available. We decided to stay and were going to share the normal bed. No one wanted to sleep on the murphy's bed. I went to bed around 9:30 pm and finally fell asleep around 10:30 pm. My coworker stayed downstairs and was watching tv. I woke up around 12:30 am and there was enough light shining from downstairs that when I looked over I could see something crawling on the bed. I reached for my cell phone that has a flash light on it and turned it on and saw several bed bugs. I yelled for my co-worker that came up and she saw some on the back of me and flicked them off. I went to the bathroom and saw 3 more on the front of me and flicked them off. I took both pictures and videos of the bed bugs. I grabbed my luggage, which I had on the floor next to the bed and brought it downstairs. We called the front desk to complain and that man said that there was one more room available if we wanted to switch rooms. He did not seem surprised or apologetic about the situation at all. We called our other coworkers to wake them up to have them see if they were sleeping with bed bugs. They woke up and did not see any. Before we left the room, I went to zip up my luggage and could see a bed bug in my bag. I tried to grab it, but missed it, so I knew that it was still in there. We went to our coworkers room to discuss what to do. 2 of them went to complain to the front desk. While there, he gave us the keys to the last room available and 2 garbage bags to seal up our luggage. My co worker had me look behind the bed and dresser in her room and there were numerous dead bugs back there. To me, they looked like large bed bugs and the skins of bed bugs. We switched rooms. This room was nicer than either of the other rooms and had 2 normal beds in it, smelled clean, and did not appear dirty, although it was extremely outdated as well. If we didn't have a training we had to attend that day, we would have left, but unfortunately with the circumstances we were in, we had to stay. I was not able to sleep the rest of the night. I sat up all night and kept shining my flash light around checking for bugs. It was an awful traumatic experience. The next morning when we checked out, they gave us the one room for free (it was our employer that had put the rooms on the company credit card, we didn't have the card with us) Our manager called them later that day and got the other room for free as well. No one that we talked to seemed surprised or apologetic. My husband tried calling a couple times to complain and the manager is never in, and when given the hours that [redacted] will be in, they aren't ever there. None of us has been able to talk to anyone about this. I had to wear the clothes I slept in that night, along with a jacket a co-worker lent me to the training that day, because all of my clothes were in my duffel bag that was sealed up in the garbage bag. When we got back home, I had my husband meet me with clothes and we went straight to the laundromat. I immediately changed and washed the clothes I had been wearing and the clothes that were in my bag in hot water and dried them on high heat. I spent money at the laundromat that I wouldn't have if this had never happened. I also threw out my duffel bag. It wasn't the kind of material that could be easily washed and there was no way I was risking bring the bed bugs to my home. I lost out on that duffel bag because of this. I rewashed and dried all of my clothes again when I got home. Some of them no longer fit me due to being washed with hot water and dried on high heat, but once again I couldn't risk bringing them in my house. I still fear that I somehow did bring them with me and worry off and on all the time about it. I have been having trouble sleeping from all of this. I get itchy thinking about it. I have even had nightmares about it and wake up thinking that they are in my house and then I have to turn lights on and check all over., so both my husband and I have lost sleep over this. All of my coworkers are experiencing this as well, although I was the one that actually had them crawling on me. I was bitten at least 6 times from what I can tell, on my arms and upper back and neck.Desired Settlement: Although the cost of the rooms were refunded to my employer, I would like compensated for the money I had to spend at the laundromat, for my duffel bag I had to throw away, and for the clothes that no longer fit me. If I hadn't had this experience, I wouldn't have lost out on any of that. I am estimating a total cost of my items at around $300.00. While I do not have receipts for the items (didn't keep them because I didn't realize I may need them later) Some of my clothes that no longer fit are ones that were purchased at Motherhood Maternity and they were not cheap.

Review: Dear Sir or Madam,

I have forwarded the email about my reservation that was terrible.

I would be ashamed to have this hotel listed as one of your choice hotels. The only thing that was good about it was there was a shuttle, which we never got to use.

When we checked in (early, which was another plus), I told the front desk clerk that I wanted the room charge to go on my fathers card, not the one I reserved the room with. We get to the room, and there's a 1/2 a roll of toilet paper for 2 bathrooms and 4 people, literally 7 paper towels on the roll, the room smelled as if a bug bomb or super heavy spray was sprayed in there to cover an odor. The fireplace had their tiles loose and my 2 year old is sitting there picking them up. The wall paper was peeling, the towel rack was off and never replaced. We didn't have a coffee maker and we asked to bring one along with coming to unplug the toilet. 30 minutes later, they come but to fix it, but guess what. No coffee maker.

Two hours after we checked in, I am out with my father and my husband calls me, to tell me that the hotel charged our account, not my fathers like I had asked. We get back to the hotel to ask them, it's a different person and she says, yes, but we can switch it but the hold could take 72 hours to come off. I said no, just leave it on my card and we will work it out on my end.

We get up in the morning and I go down to check out. The same people are there, dressed in street clothes, no name tags, nothing, and she says my card declined because someone did something that past evening. Another woman comes over and says it's fine, it's on their end and it would be on my card only!!! So we finally leave.

Today, my husband said he looks at our bank account that our card that we used is for. The hold is now gone. I swear if you charged my father's card!!!!! I cannot say anything nice at all about the crap hotel and crap workers. We think they like there. The other side of the parking lot had grills, blankets and pillows all piled up in the windows. If there was another option for another hotel, we would have taken it in a second. Very disappointed.

We are going out of town in 3 weeks and had a reservation at an [redacted]. We cancelled it because we don't trust your company right now. We are travelling around following the Rolling Stones and I recommended this Quality Suites to people there. I will make sure that they don't stay in any of your hotels in the future.Desired Settlement: I want to make sure 100% that if I was charged, it was to me, not my father. I was told it would go on mine, then they took it off. Now I'm not sure. I want to wait until tomorrow to see if it shows up again on my account.

Review: We recently stayed at Quality Suites and we found out they had bed bugs and we were given another room in the middle of the night but our luggage and purses had bed bugs in them so we had to throw them out. We have been calling to speak to a manager for 5 days and they will not return our calls. We would just like to be reimbursed for the suite cases and purses and a pair of shoes we were not able to keep because of possible spreading of bed bugs. I also contacted the allegheny department of health.Desired Settlement: We would like reimbursement for items we lost.

Review: I am filing a complant with this hotel because of the BED BUGS I have encountered while staiying on there property. I was there from 7-14-14 to 7-18-14. I had booked 2 rooms for 4 days. One room was OK. The other was a nightmare. Over the 3 days I stayed I was relocated 3 times. The first time was because the unit did not have hot water running. The second time was on day 2. while taking a shower the water stopped running. I was then placed into another room on day 3. I went to bed around 11:00pm only to be awakened to the feel of bugs biting on me. At 2:am I went to the front desk and told them what was occurring and they offered to switch me AGAIN. I refused and checked out. On my ride I spotted a bed bug crawling on my luggage. immediately I pulled over and threw all my luggage in the trash, for the fear of bringing them home with me. I contacted the hotel more than several times and I received an email from the GM stating that all he could is refund me 50% off the first night stay because I chose to stay my entire stay. He has yet to call me and allow me to explain the horrific experience I had on their property. Evidently he has not been given the entire. I had the bed bug experience on the third night not the first, I would have left the property on the first night if the issues was BED BUGS. This property needs a Public Health Officer inspect this property. I do have pictures of some of the bed bugs and pictures of the bites I sustained during this stay.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded my funds from the stay and some sort of reimbursement for my luggage.
