Quality Tune Up #40 Reviews (1)

Review: Quality Tune Up caused my transmission to go out by aggressively revving up the engine causing the engine to violently shake and heard a loud pop.

On 9-6-2013 I called Quality Tune Up and spoke with [redacted]. I asked if he could install two motor mounts on my 2002 Nissan Altima because Nissan of Elk Grove had inspected my car and stated I needed motor mounts. He asked where were the mounts located. I said I guess it's the front and back, but I have the paperwork. He said to bring the car and paperwork in on Saturday and he'll take a look. I drove my car to his shop on 9-7-2013. [redacted] looked at the paperwork and then took the keys of my car and drove it around back of his shop. One of his employees and I were looking from the office counter as [redacted] stopped the car, put it in park and began aggressively revving the engine and then he stopped. I asked the employee if my engine should shake like that and he said, no that's why you need motor mounts. Then [redacted] began aggressively revving up the engine again and this time the engine begin to violently shake and then we heard a loud "pop" causing the employee who was looking under the hood to jump back. [redacted] then put the car in drive. The car wouldn't move forward. He put the car in reverse and it still did not move. He came inside the office and said my car will not drive. I asked why, what happened, because I drove it there without any problems. He said he didn't do anything. I said your employee and I saw that you kept revving up the engine. He said my transmission must have went out. I told him that it was fine before I came to his shop and that my car was drivable, plus that Nissan of Elk Grove did not mention any transmission problems on my paper work. He said well it's not driving now. I had to have my car towed to a local transmission shop where they told me it will cost appox. $1,900.00 to rebult. I went back to Quality Tune Up and spoke with [redacted] and said he caused my transmission to go out because I had driven my car to his shop without problems. [redacted] continued to say that he didn't do anything.Desired Settlement: I'm seeking replacement of my transmission. I drove my car to the shop in drivable condition so I expect to drive my car from the shop in the same drivable condition. The transmission went out due to [redacted] violently revving up the engine when it was not neccessary. [redacted] had the paperwork from Nissan of Elk Grove stating the location of the motor mounts that needed to be replaced. I'm not seeking a huge settlement. I'm merely seeking reimbursement for a rebuilt transmission.
