I bought a firearm from Quantico Tactical in Clarksville Tennesee, that broke and has excessive wear when it was supposedly a new firearm. I bought a [redacted] from Quantico Tactical in Clarksville, TN on 08/14/2015. Several hours later I went to the range to go test fire it, and after firing seven rounds the trigger guard broke. Upon further inspection the barrel has excessive wear inconsistent with this being a new firearm. I immediately went back to the store, and brought it to managements attention. I was informed that it was against federal law for them to accept a return on a firearm, and that I would have to contact [redacted] directly. After contacting [redacted] I was notified that due to my planned move out of state in the near future I would need to wait until I established a new address before shipping the firearm as they could not receive a firearm in one state, and return it to another. Also found out that it was not against federal law to accept return on a firearm, but instead a store policy.I went back to Quantico the following day and spoke to the store manager [redacted] and presented the facts. He acknowledged the excessive wear on the firearm, and noted that they were inconsistent with the wear of a brand new firearm. He also acknowledged that his associate was incorrect in it being against the law to accept a return. I explained to him that it was going to cause undue personal hardship sending the firearm to [redacted] due to my move out of state since I am separating from the Military. He was civil, but could not offer a solution to my problem other than to wait until I move and send the firearm to [redacted].I feel I was misled about the firearm being indeed a new firearm, or in being in good condition, and I feel it is poor business practice to not own up to the situation, and attempt to make it right.Desired SettlementI would like to either A) Have an exception to store policy, and have Quantico accept the return on my firearm or B) Be offered some type of store credit as a gesture of good faith by Quantico Tactical for the inconvenience and negligence on their part.I am also considering contacting the [redacted] or retaining legal representation to open up an investigation on Quantico Tactical, because I believe that the condition of the firearm provides a reasonable person with a reasonable doubt as to whether the firearm was presented was indeed a new firearm, and that Quantico Tactical knew or should have known that this was not the case. I believe that criminal and/or civil laws were broken by Quantico Tactical during the transaction of this firearm.Business Response As per our published return policy: ( http://www.[redacted] ), we do not accept returns on firearms.The customer's firearm was not used other than being test fired at the factory as all firearms we sell are. It was received by us new from the distributor (we have documentation) and was not used until the customer purchased it and fired it. The Clarksville location does not buy, sell, or trade in used firearms.The manufacturer of the firearm, [redacted], has an excellent warranty and service department. We referred him to the manufacturer who was willing to address the issue. Since he is moving soon, he was properly advised to wait until he has a new permanent address so that the firearm can be legally shipped to and from his personal address.Consumer Response Quantico Tactical's response is very telling of their attitude torwards it's customers, and its unwillingness to accept responsibility for the products they sell. Despite the extenuating circumstances of a customer spending close to $400 dollars in their store, and having to wait approximately one month to have the firearm repaired Quantico has failed to make even the slightest effort to make things right with myself, the customer.Calls to the corporate office have also gone unanswered. Quantico Tactical may well be within their rights to stubbornly stick to their store policy, but they won't escape the bad publicity that has already been inflicted, and will continue to be inflicted due to their embarrassing customer service.I have also contacted [redacted] with pictures the excessive wear on this firearm's barrel that was present before I even fired the first round. I'm sure [redacted] will love to see how their workmanship, and firearms are being portrayed by one of it's vendors.Once again I am proposing Quantico Tactical offer me a full refund on the firearm. It is my belief that Quantico Tactical purposely tried to mislead me, about it being against Federal law in an effort to deter me from pursing the matter further. I believe this was an attempt by Quantico Tactical to prey upon a young Service Member.It is also my wish that I be provided with the contact information of a manager that ultimately oversees this business. Below are pictures of the broken trigger guard, and the excessively new firearm that Quantico Tactical seems to think is acceptable.[redacted]Final Consumer Response After contacting the corporate office for the second time along with a slew of other actions taken by myself, I received a call from The owner [redacted] offering to do a one for one exchange. He followed through on his offer in a timely manner to his credit. The majority of his employees were professional in my dealings with them during the exchange. The owner [redacted] was slightly passive aggressive. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, but in the end Quantico Tactical made it right, albeit very reluctantly. I consider this close resolved.
