We had a mixed experience when using Exotic Estates for a home rental on MauiThe home was named "Endless Sunset" and has since our vacation been taken off the websiteIt is a beautiful bedroom home with an office and guest house overlooking the oceanThe booking process was easy and all of the staff was friendly, professional and quick to respond to all our inquiriesFor nearly $I would hope soThings changed when we arrived at the propertyThe property manager who was supposed to meet, and give us the keys couldn't make itI was in a wedding rehearsal that day and my boyfriend went to meet herhours after the appointment time while he waited in front of the home, she called him to tell him she wasn't going to make it and to "just walk in"Like he should have known to "just walk into" a 2.5million dollar homeHe let himself in, got the keys and found a welcome packet She did however, wish to meet all of us, the next day at a time convenient for all people(We were on vacation, getting people to stay at vacation home at 10:00am seems a little intrusive and ridiculous"Please friends don't go enjoy the ocean, the property manager wants to see what we are all like" Mind you we are all over 30, no children and all extremely outdoorsy, swimmers, hikers, fishermen, and snorkelersLuckily our friends are relaxed and easy going, and complied with her outlandish wishes When we booked the property, the things that drew us to the property most were the following: (as advertised on the website) Fire Pit! # AC Sleeps 8- When we arrived, the welcome packet had a warning on the front cover in bold print "ABSOLUTELY NO FIRE IN THE FIRE PIT" This was after we purchased enough s'mores and food for days of fire pit fun There was no AC in the guest house where two of our adult friends sucked it up in the 85-degree nights And it sleeps adultswith a child's cot as an option for a bedOne adult man could not fit on this cot so a mattress was promised to us by the property managerWhen this never came, we purchased a $air mattress from CostcoThe promised mattress never showed in the days we were there The fridge was broken and we had no clean water or iceThe property manager told us "I wouldn't drink the sink water" so we bought bags of ice and bottled water for our weeks stay There was a large mound of garbage that was supposed to be picked up the day we arrived from previous tenantsIt never got picked up, even as we added to itLuckily we don't mind rodents Overall, we had a great timeWe WERE in MauiThe stay, uncomfortable for who suffered the hot nightsWhen asked for compensation for the inconveniences we were told they could do 10% off a NEXT stay with them, per couple, not to be used togetherThank you but no thank youI would have preferred a refund for the couple who had no AC (as advertised) and a refund for the mattress we had to buy, and the ice and waterI was not impressed with the post vacation stay correspondenceThe next vacation will be booked with another company

When we arrived, the welcome packet had a warning on the front cover in bold print.
"ABSOLUTELY NO FIRE IN THE FIRE PIT" This was after we purchased enough s'mores and food for 8 days of fire pit fun.
There was no AC in the guest house where two of our adult friends sucked it up in the 85-90 degree nights
And it sleeps 8 adults... with a child's cot as an option for a bed. One adult man could not fit on this cot so a mattress was promised to us by the property manager. When this never came, we purchased a $130 air mattress from Costco. The promised mattress never showed in the 8 days we were there.
The fridge was broken and we had no clean water or ice. The property manager told us "I wouldn't drink the sink water" so we bought bags of ice and bottled water for our weeks stay.
There was a large mound of garbage that was supposed to be picked up the day we arrived from previous tenants. It never got picked up, even as we added to it. Luckily we don't mind rodents.
Overall, we had a great time. We WERE in Maui. The stay, uncomfortable for 2 who suffered the hot nights. When asked for compensation for the inconveniences we were told they could do 10% off a NEXT stay with them, per couple, not to be used together. Thank you but no thank you. I would have preferred a refund for the couple who had no AC (as advertised) and a refund for the mattress we had to buy, and the ice and water. I was not impressed with the post vacation stay correspondence. The next vacation will be booked with another company.
