Visited for neck & back pain, charged $545.00 for my visit. Cigna advised that the visit should have costed $56.58. The business is refusing refund.
I visited Quantum Medical on 8/30/18 for neck and back pain. I was charged $545.00 for the visit which I thought was unusually high and out of line but I knew that I would be refunded as per previous Dr visits. I about a week my insurance provider sent me explanation of benefits that stated that the visit was $56.58 and that I should be expecting a $488.42 refund from the provider as per the usual when there is an over payment. Cigna has been back and forth with this provider and has heard a multitude of excuses as to why there has been no refund to this point, many of which were lies (charged for multiple visits, when there was just one) Cigna has issued a Quality of Care against this provider because they and I are fed up with the reasons for which this provider is denying the $488.42 refund for the service.
I am looking to receive the refund that both I and Cigna are expecting and for the games to end. I was advised against going to a Chiropractor for this same type of funny business but my pains were so great I did not know which course of action to take. I deeply regret the decision.

Mr. came into our office on 08/30/2018, his insurance was ran by the office. His insurance company is a 3rd party insurance. When verifying insurance our office was told he needed to meet his deductible. We collected that deductible amount when he was done being seen. The patient is responsible for the amount of service that was provided. Mr. insurance company called us & we explained to them that American Spec. Health does not cover exams or x-rays, that is why he was charged that amount for the services. His deductible was $3,000.00 - nothing was met. I again spoke and explained to *** about his insurance as well as gave him a copy of what they covered and what they did not cover. Services were provided to him and he had knowledge about the pricing before getting seen, also signed a waiver agreeing to the prices before he was even seen or exam-ed. . I have explained this to insurance and they looked into the situation.

My insurance provider has determined that I have overpaid, both Ciga and American Health are both in agreement on this matter. Cigna has and is currently working on getting the timetable for a refund for me. Cigna has been having difficulty in reching someone at the Quantum Wellness Office due to scheduling and illness in the Quantum Wellness office. Once Cigna hashes out the issue with the provider they will make a determination whether or not Quantum Wellness honestly or knowingly made this error and take the approprioate following steps. I should be hearing back from Cigna and or American Health this week 2/11-15 on whether or not they were able to contact and speak to someone at the office.
