Mr. called me and said he was from *** in ***. or close to.I thought he was calling for service for a hospitality TV for the for motel. I do workFor other Hotel I motel in the county. But he told me it was a TV of his own. I then asked the brand ofTV, it’s a TCL was the answer, next I ask in or out of warranty, answer out by a short a short time.Normal warranty on a TV is 12 months. But in his complaint he states it’s ll months old, ifHe would have told me this in the beginning I would have advised him to call TCL for warranty ServiceAnd we would not be having this problem.Also on the call I said I would work on the TV , it would have to come in for service andA $45.00 diagnostic fee at time of drop off. I also mention that I was located 25-30 miles away in thesoutljiem end ofdie county.*** arrived with TV on 1/31/2020, paid the $45.00. WE plugged TV in to verify the problem. TVTurned on and flashing light at bottom of TV, no picture or sound. Asked *** to leave TV so I couldcheck out A.S.A.P. Checked TV next day and called *** to tell what I found. LED’s (back light }Not working in LCD panel. I told him it would cost about $250.00 to ?x if I can ?nd the LED’s fora TCL set, and next I would need to disassemble the panel to get the exact part numbers intensive laborUnnecessarily needed unless he was going to repair TV. *** also asked ifhe could ?nd LED’s for TVWould I change them and how much the cost. I told him $ l 00.00 for total of $145.00 that cotmring the$45.00 paid when he brought set in. *** took TV home and called to tell me the TV does not mm onnow. My answer was that I probability lei‘: a plug off inside of TV reason for not coming on. He agreedto bring set hack and we would take the back off. Found the plug off while he was here, inserted theplug in TV now set tunm on.
