I found Josh and Quebec Certified Installation on *** when I was shopping around for a new roofI live out of state, and just purchased a home in Central FloridaOrlando area in which we plan on moving into after our contract is up in about a yearin the meantime there was a leak in the roof which was at least years old with many patches and holes, basically band-aided together, which we knew had to be replaced
Being that I know I was going to have to dish out over 10K I wanted to get EVERY quote I could, to make sure we were going with the right company So I went through google (which I found out many of those contractors just have a great web presence and just farm out the work to day laborers and other contractors and take a cut off the topwhich I don't blame them it's business.) we searched *** and ***, and even got some family recommendations
after calling about different companies and Drilling them over the phone about Permits, recommendations etc, I had about different contractors come out to do a visual inspection and provide a quote Now, they all go through their song and dance about how bad the roof is etc etcI told them all the same thing" You, as the professional (because I don't have a clue about roofs other then mine was leaking) write me up an estimate of what all I need for this roof to last me the longest."
Of all the contractors, Josh was the only one who mentioned some of the air vents are a an old type and he would change those out, and add a few extra to vent a different area of the roof that was under-ventilatedat that point none of the other contracts even mentioned vents etcas well as any additional plywood that would need replaced would already be included in the total quote
after doing some research on my own I found out he was right! those spinning air vents will get water in them no matter what because it is just a poor designI also did other research on Josh and his business although he's not in google and doens't really have a good web presence, what I did find was a lot of permits which he has pulled At this point I was impressed with what he had on his quote besides the fact that he was able to provide us a discount on the shingles if we selected a color that he purchases in bulk, and the fact that his quote was about $less then all the otherseven with the additional Vents! long story short we contracted him
being that I live out of town and couldn't supervise (though I wouldn't have a clue if it was right or wrong.) he kept me up to date with text messages, photos Our home had additions which they did a poor roof transition too during the initial constuction, which was not code He was able to complete the roof in days with all the repairs he found that he had to do, as well as the progress of how he was doing the roof to guarantee we will not have any issues ever Josh fixed Everythingand even sent a photo of the passed inspection from the county!
months after our new roof was put on, the tenant noticed water coming in the back side of the house I called Josh for him to come out, I was in shock!!! after such a great experience (not to mention $12k Later) we were still getting water in the house!!!!!
Josh didn't hesitate and jumped right on the roof, again with photo updates showed me that it was the gutter full of leaves that was causing water to not come in from the roof but from the wall!!! He could have just called me an it and washed his hands of it, as it was not their fault He not only cleaned the gutter (which he didn't have to do ) he gave me recommendations on how to remedy it and other issues with the gutter that will help (some screws were just sticking out too far which was catching leaves etc.) I was so embarrassed that I called him out but he was very professional the entire timeI would Highly recommend Calling Josh and Quebec Certified if you are in need of a reef repair or installation
