I scheduled moving of my apartment furniture etc. for March 30th 2019. A fixed quote of $50 per hour including insurance etc was quoted and was told it will be a maximum of $300.00 & I should pay in cash. I scheduled the moving with Mr. - XXX-XXX-XXXX. He told me that they are a small company and do not have a website. I got a text message confirmation of my moving from XXX-XXX-XXXX.
On March 30th 2019,I was scheduled for 3.30 pm & the movers arrived by 7.00 pm. I was told they will carry blankets/ protectors for my furniture. I gave specific instructions that my bed & dresser needed to be dismantled. They came without any protectors/tools.I was asked to deposit $200 in advance. I told them that I was not communicated about the deposit, they made me talk to their supervisor,*** XXX-XXX-XXXX.He said the booking agency is different & so I was not communicated. So I had to pay the deposit & they made me sign a receipt. They had certain conditions on the receipt & the mover told me that they are standard and not applicable to me, I will only have to pay a maximum of $250 or $300.I took one of the mover to the closest *** to buy the screw driver. They finally loaded my stuff into the truck. After Loading the truck, they told me they had to fill gas in the truck.I followed them to the gas station. They then gave me a receipt of $1105.00. I was shocked & told them I will not pay this amont ***.I asked them to drive along my vehicle &took them to the Peel Police Station.I complained to the officer there. The officer told me that they made me sign a contract kind of a receipt &I will have to pay them to get my work done & later file complaint with Revdex.com. So I was harrassed by these movers as they forced me to follow them to the atm.I withdrew money &gave it to them. They drove my stuff to my place & left everything in the garage without bringing it down to the basement apartment. ***. Billing Adjustment ***. ***. One of the mover *** - XX-XXX-XXXX, said that they do this to every client. I want a refund of $700. My move took one hour and forty minutes and they charged me $1100.00 and it was a $50 per hour + $50 for gas. They build up the bill as they *** me to signing that receipt, which they said that the conditions were not relevant to me. Please Help

Hello,

My name is *** and I hired a moving service with "The moving guys" on September 19, 2018 from 2pm to 6pm. I was asked to give them a 350 dollars deposit before moving and asked me to sign a receipt, this "receipt" was later, according to them, a contract, in which I agreed to pay for many other extra charges including 20% extra for insurance. After they loaded all the items in the truck, they gave me a 1294 dollars bill, which wasn't the amount we agreed on the phone nor what they advertised online.
During the move, the movers damaged some of my furniture/floor and they advised me to take photos and send them to the company's email address for insurance claim.
Just to note, none of the items were wrapped beforehand and I asked the movers not to drag/slide the items without padded blankets on the floor several times but the requests were ignored.
I haven't had a response from the company after sending them an email asking for a solution.

Desired Outcome

I would like them to pay for the damaged items and floor. I would like to receive a refund for the uncalled extra charges.

I had to call the cops they coudnt run away with my stuff as planned. we pulled them over.

They requested full payment but did not finish the job. They just drove away.

The cost of the move was previously confirmed. However, once the initial load was completed, the driver drove the truck to a gas station. From there, the driver created a final bill that was ~$600 above the confirmed cost. These individuals are *** and *** their clients. There was no reason for this. This action shocked his partner in the truck who quit immediately on the spot because of this company's unfair treatment of clients. After dealing with the police, we finally paid the money so that we could have our items back which were effectively was being held hostage until we paid the additional $600. Since his partner quit he had to unload by himself. He was not able to do this without my assistance. Not only did we have to pay an additional $600 but also had to help the mover.

Hello, My Name is *** and I would like to bring awareness to a situation me and my family have been faced with over the Christmas holidays. During a time we were suppose to be happy we have been anything but. We hired movers from *** to move on Saturday December 23rd 2017 from our apartment at *** to *** the distance is less than 5km so we thought it should be a seamless process. We were in contact with Honest Moving Company and we agreed on a flat rate price of $200 but when the movers came it was a different story as they were now saying $300. We reserved the movers for 10:00am and they did not reach until 10:20am smelling of alcohol might I add, this interrupted our scheduled elevator time. When the movers reached we paid a deposit of 300 and we were given an invoice. The movers were caught taking smoke breaks on time we were paying for because we now realized we were being charged hourly instead of a flat rate. The movers changed the way we were being charged once they realized the amount of stuff we had in our 2 bedroom apartment. When the movers filled the truck they demanded an additional 615.00 which is NOT what we agreed on. We then explained to the moving company that is not what we agreed on and they did not give us a breakdown of the invoice. We at that point said we are not paying. The movers then said if we do not pay the balance of $615.30 they would not give us our belongings. Being stuck between a rock and a hard place we paid the movers an additional $600.00 owing them $15.30. When we arrived at the new place *** there was a delay because the elevator we had previously booked had now extended the time frame so we lost our 300.00 deposit we had also paid for the elevator. We had to get in touch with the maintenance of the condo. We got the elevator reserved once again and my boyfriend went upstairs to get the balance of $15.30. When he returned downstairs he saw all of our belongings outside on the ground in the snow getting wet. We then called the moving company and everyone had turned off their phones. I have 3 children under the age of 5 and our furniture got damaged as it was thrown on the ground. We then had to move everything into our condo by ourselves which is a job we had already paid for. The movers "worked" from 10:20am until 3:00pm and were paid $900.00. We were up until 12:00am completing the movers job and on top of this mess we still had belongings they promised to get at the old place still at the old place. So we rented a u haul and moved those items at a later date. With the move we also realized we are missing our speaker box and carpet. The supervisor states they don't know where it is. We told the supervisor what had happened and he states he told his workers to put the belongings outside and he is unwilling to refund the money we spent or replace the stolen and damaged items. Below are images of the event, it would be of great satisfaction if I could get any assistance in the resolution of this matter as I would not want this to happen to anyone else and I have lost a lot of money. Thank you.

Desired Outcome

I would like the 900.00 we paid refunded as they did not complete the job and I would also like my damaged and missing articles replaced.

I booked with this moving company (***) to move a small amount of goods (bachelor apartment size) from Ajax to North York. I was quoted (via email) $45/hour (3 hour minimum), $45 gas charge, and $45/hour past the first 3 hours.

It came to moving day (12pm), where I was greeted with a contract (after they had started loading the truck). The contract had 9 secondary charges. I told the representative that I had an agreement over email with the company as to what the rate was going to be. He said that it was all good and asked me to sign. Before I had signed I gave $245 to the man which I thought at the time was final payment.

2 hours into the move the truck was finally packed, it looked like we were finally ready to leave. One of the workers walked over to the car and handed me a receipt. There was a balance owing of $460.12. This included charges of $45/hour/worker, $70 stairs fee, $45 heavy item fee (my heaviest item was a queen size mattress), and a 20% service charge (covered insurance). At that time I called the manager (***) and requested reasoning as to why I was being charged all of these secondary charges. He stated to me that I signed the contract and I had to pay or else I would lose my $245 deposit, and my belongings would be left in Ajax. I asked why none of these fees were laid out in the email confirming the quote and he sated "You didn't ask the questions, so I didn't have to tell you." I paid 460.12 to leave.

We made the drive to North York (26 minutes). Upon arriving the moving truck was nowhere to be found. It was now 3pm and past the first 3 hours. I called the same manager and asked where the truck was. He said they should be close. 15 minutes later the truck wasn't there (they ran out of gas), I called the manager again and he said you have till 4pm. At 3:45pm one of the workers said that time was up and that the truck had to be emptied or I owed another $100. We unloaded the truck and they left.

All of the funds were requested in cash.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment I would like the balance of $460.12 returned as it was never stated in the original quote and I was pressured into signing a contract. I will never deal with this "company" ever again. I hope they don't have the opportunity to *** anyone else. The main company phone number is out of service. The manager is probably the best bet ***. There is another number for the company ***. If you need a copy of anything you can call/email. I look forward to hearing from you
