Queens Auto Mall, Inc. Reviews (23)

Review: On[redacted], February**, 2015 at approximately [redacted], I contacted Queens Auto Mall and expressed my interest in purchasing a vehicle. The vehicle in question was a 2011 Toyota Prius 5dr Hatchback V Color: Blue Ribbon Metallic. The vehicle was advertised at a price of $12,980. The vehicle was STOCK#068618. The vehicle was advertised on the internet on the following website - [redacted]After researching various vehicles on this site and other sites, I made the decision to purchase the above mentioned vehicle that was advertised by Queens Auto Mall. I contacted the company directly by calling the listed phone number to purchase the vehicle for $12,980 + taxes. I indicated that I would be paying the full amount including taxes, 7% in [redacted]. At that point, the sales person indicated that I would have to finance the vehicle despite the fact that I already had the full amount plus tax. I explained to the salesperson that we were paying the full advertised amount plus taxes. After discussing with him several times that I was paying in-full, the sales person insisted that I must pay 3 years of interest as if I were financing the vehicle - which I immediately realized was a fraudulent practice. It quickly became clear to me that this organization was engaging in deceptive and fraudulent business practices. This company was clearly trying to extract additional funds from a customer. It is my desire to have this information recorded and followed up by the parties that are in a position to halt such practices. I have reported this to the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I wish to purchase the same model of car, 2010 or better, at the price of $12,980 + tax.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Queens Auto Mall, Inc regarding complaint ID[redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: Below is an email that I wrote to the ** of Queens auto mall.

The car I purchased is a 2005 Lexus RX 330 with 90,00 miles. The blue book value had it at a little under $14,000. We purchased the car at $13,900 with a down payment of $4500.

Through some double talk and what I believe to be is forgery they had me borrow from Premier bank and submitted to the bank that the car was purchased for $22,000.

The ** of the dealership will not submit a printed itemized receipt or report that shows what fees were tacked on. The ** did show us a on his computer screen that he charged us multiple fees including a trumped up 18%service charge that totaled $2800. On top of the service charge he also taxed us on the service charge which I'm sure is illegal.

Please help be bring this man to justice . I'm sure he's scammed multiple people and will continue to do so.

When my wife asked him why he charge us so many extra fee, his response to my wife was "everyone in the car business fluffs the sales numbers up".

[redacted],

Thank you for taking the time to meet with my wife yesterday. Unfortunately, you were not able to clarify our concerns. We are still left with many questions unanswered. Adding to the confusion are the documents you gave my wife with regards to the bill of sale, retail installment contract and mile edge contract. Why weren't we provided with these copies before?

I also don't understand how we got to the sells price of $18,170.32? Based on the conversation you had with [redacted] she believes that your office mistakenly added to our agreed sales price of $13,980 a number of administrative fees and an additional 18% charge of $2,821.32. We are not clear as to why these charges were added to the sale price and we are also not aware as to what they are for. Normally for a used car a service charge is not tacked on. Furthermore, why would we be charged taxes on a service charge? A service charge is not part of the goods we purchased, therefore it is illegal to do so. I work in the service industry where we sometimes charge a service charge, we never tax a service charge because it is illegal to do so. Please help me understand the following charges?

Selling Price $13,980

Administrative fees $225.00

Prep $449.00

Doc $695.00

18% $2,821.32 (Is this a service charge?)

Total $18,170.32

This is based on what you disclosed [redacted] from your computer screen of the breakdown of all these charges a combined charge of $4,190.32. Which I am now understand you also refused to provide her with a written explanation or a copy of this computer screen breakdown as you explained it was your private property and that you do not give any of your clients this breakdown in writing. As a consumer it is our right to fully understand what we are being charged and to have copies of all documents and explanations necessary. Please do the right thing and provide me with a written breakdown and explanation of these charges.

On the same screen she also noticed a number of similar charges only the sales price had drastically changed from the high $13,000's to $18,170.32. Your office then added the following charges:

Selling Price: $18,170.32

sales tax $1,834.49

regular processing fees $75.00

regular fees $275.00

inspection $37.00

extended warranty $2,500

Total $22,891.81

Why did we not receive a inspection report?

Aren't these charges all the same as in the previous breakdown leading up to this new sells price? Why would I be charged twice for the same service? It is only now that my cash down payment of $4,750 is taking into notice reducing the total to $18,141.81.

Please understand this is a used 2005 car which we have been having some issues with and when my wife called a few weeks into owing the car she was informed by your [redacted] and mechanic that the car is purchased as is and that the radio, gas tank, dashboard lights and other items are not part of the extended warranty.

We are very unhappy with your customer service and wish to cancel the extended warranty effective immediately (vin number [redacted]) and be issued a full credit for $2,500.

We did not agree to purchasing a used 2005 car with over 80,000 miles for over $18,000. Far more then what the current value of this vehicle is in today's market. We also did not agree to all these charges leading up to the excessive price tag. According to my bank [redacted] the final sales price is over $20,000. The bank is aware of the over charges and I'm waiting for their paperwork to come in. I hope this matter can be rectified in a timely manner. Or I will be forced to bring you to court and place a complain with Revdex.com.

Kind regards, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I'd like either a total refund/exchange or an agreed upon adjusted sales price

Review: We Purchased a car from this dealer not knowing much about them till today we got a phone call from them stating we owed them another $20,000 while the car was posted for sale 21,900... We put $9,000 down with another $1,000 on top which they said was for taxes, so a total of $10,000 was paid... They are giving us multiple problems, the math doesn't add up we should only have to owe about $12,000... Not to mention this car came with 3 nails in the tire and no oil in the engine which almost blew the ride home... there is many more problems with the car underneath but I never called an complained about all the issues... we purchased this car exactly a month ago as well... They were very quick and throwing papers to sign and the agreement was 21,900 I don't know where this extra $8,000 is coming from... We no longer want this car we just want our money back and we don't know where to start!Desired Settlement: We would like our $10,000 back not even going to bother asking for the money we had to pay for all four tires to be replaced let alone the work that had to be done to engine...
