Queens Styling Queens Reviews (%countItem)

I contacted and booked an appointment with Queens Styling Queens via ***. The business *** page clearly states that this business is a salon. Also prominently displayed on the page is the phone number associated with the business. The address is not included on the *** business page.
The "stylist" requested a $25 deposit when we were scheduling the appointment. I asked if she processed payments through ***, ***, or ***. She requested that I cash app the deposit to her. When I sent the deposit to her I added in the message that the $25.00 was for a blow out hair service on 2/13. During our *** message correspondence at no time was I advised the deposit was non nonrefundable.
The address that was provided to me where the "salon" was located was sent to me and did not include a suite or apartment number.
The day of the service we arrived at the address provided and it was an apartment complex in a very unsafe area. I attempted to message the stylist and confirm we were at the correct location. I did not receive a message back. I then attempted to call. The phone number for the business was disconnected. Finally the stylist confirmed we were at the correct address but did not provide the apartment number. I requested. No response. I attempted to call a couple of times thinking I had the wrong number. I did not the phone was disconnected. At this point I requested to cancel with refund as this appeared to be unsafe and not a true business. The stylist then became nasty. Her response and unwillingness to refund the monies further cemented this was not a reputable or safe business. I then searched the owners name and shockingly found a rather large criminal background on the county recorders website. I screenshotted and asked if this was her. The owner then threatened to press charges on me if I shared her picture and information with anyone. I then shared I will pursue legal action as I would not do business with her. She then threatened me again.

I have a strict policy $25 non refundable deposit, I work from home to be with 2 kids, she booked a week ago, gave deposit, I gave her address but not apartment number, her appt was at 5:15 and she texted me at 4:30 asking for appt number, I was working on a kid's hair. In my policy, I have a privacy policy that no one else is around when getting hair done, I asked her to give me 20 minutes, and she then asked for her deposit back and that she didn't feel safe. She said at this point I am going to report to you, and I told her to give me a few minutes and then she emails me a picture of my mug shot. Business indicated they are not refunding the deposit. On every website I have for my business it says there is a $25 nonrefundable deposit.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The business did not attempt to resolve this issue. She did in fact call me and yell about all of her issues for approximately 4 minutes. She shared : she doesn't have a credit card which is why her phone was off, she doesn't give her apartment number because she doesn't trust people and other bizarre and non relevant information. After listening to her vent I thought I would be able to speak but when I attempted to do so she quickly cut me off. At this time I advised her to have a good day and ended the call.

The data she has shared is untrue.

The facts are as follows :

The business owner marketed herself as a "Salon" her *** page states this. A salon by *** dictionary definition is :

hair salon meaning: a shop where people go to have their hair cut and put into a particular style. When we arrived at an apartment complex I was surprised. As the business owner deceptively left out her apartment number in our communications with the intent of not providing accurate information regarding where the hair services were to be provided. I am familiar with the sanitation guidelines regarding hair salons and have attached to this response. In a small apartment home where the provider and her children reside it would be close to impossible to ensure proper sanitary measures are followed. This would open my child (who was to get the service) to possible disease, hair loss, etc. Of graver concern was the intentional omission of the full address. Coupled with no working form of telecommunications it did not make myself feel as if this was a legitimate place of business. There was a legitimate concern for sanitary and personal safety for both myself and my daughter, '

At no time during our communication did the provider advise of a privacy or non refund disclaimer. Had she provide a non refundable deposit disclaimer to me I would not have booked with her. I have the screen shots from the booking and she at no point stated the refund was not refundable

When I cash apped the $25 deposit to the business in my notes I clearly stated "For down payment on blow out appt 2/13 5 PM" Services were not rendered therefore the deposit should have been refunded.

I did not threaten the business. With all the red flags on the field I looked her information up on the court of clerks and online. I simply asked if the mugshot was hers as it was a booking for a violent crime. She then threatened me. Stating she was going to sue me etc. She also stated that if her mugshot got out that I would have more to worry about then a non refundable deposit. Two threats,

To summarize at no point was I advised of a "privacy" or "non refundable deposit" Upon arrival for services - we became aware this provider was not a salon but operating out of an apartment. I was concerned for my daughters sanitary and personal safety. I requested to cancel - well ahead of the scheduled appointment and requested my deposit back and the provider refused. I believe that she omits her full address and operates in the manner she does to steal money from consumers.

Regards

At no time during the appointment scheduling and subsequent request did the business owner advise that the deposit was nonrefundable. Also omitted was the fact that she was operaring out an apartment not. "Salon" or did she share her "privacy" policy. Please see screenshot which is attached of the scheduling correspondence.
