Mr.[redacted] agreed to run gas lines in my house so I could have gas logs in the fireplace and a gas stove. The amount agreed on was $1,982.00. He ran the line for the gas logs and hooked them up. My wife went ahead and bought a new gas stove to replace the electric one. I asked Mr. [redacted] at least 3 times to go ahead and finish running the line for the stove so that when it was installed the person could hook it up to the gas line and it would be ready to use. Mr. [redacted] keep on putting it off saying he wanted it done right. After the stove was installed Mr. [redacted] came and finished running the line and hooking it up the the stove. When he finished hooking it up he gave me another bill for $599.98, I asked him what it was for and he said it was for installing the gas line to the stove, and hooking it up to the stove. I went ahead and paid the bill but I believe that I was taken advantage of and mislead about the cost of the job.Desired SettlementI would like a refund for the $599.98 that I believe I was over charged.Business Response Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)During the time I was waiting for the stove to be installed Mr.[redacted] never mentioned one time that there would be an extra charge for hooking up the stove. Mr. [redacted] told me on Dec.22,2013 that the plumbing was all finished except for hooking up the stove. After handing him the check he said that they still had to finish running the line for the stove. They had stopped about 5 feet from the wall where the stove was. When he gave me the estimate I understood that they would run the line to the wall and through it so when ** did get a gas stove it would only have to be hooked up.Again Mr.[redacted] never mentioned that there would be an extra charge for hooking up the stove. If he had told me before hand that would be one thing but to just hand me a bill after the work was done was inconsiderate. Had I known that the job was going to be an extra $599.88, then I would have gone with the 2nd lowest bid and saved $475.00.Final Business Response
