Quickie Marine and Fiberglass Repair Reviews (%countItem)

Inadequate repair work done on my boat engine resulted in the engine being ruined.
Inadequate repair done by Quickie Marine on my Regal 4.3 liter mercruiser engine ruined the engine. This work was done October 2016. Quickie Marine received two payments totaling $3,297.37 by check and credit card.

Risers were not assembled correctly allowing saltwater in through the exhaust manifold ruining the engine. I have pictures of these risers clearly showing lack of gaskets causing the problem.

Since this time I have taken the boat back twice to have a gear oil leak repaired. Instead of repairing the leak the mechanic cut the hose from the gear oil reservoir and plugged it at a distance far enough away from the reservoir where it wouldn't be visible. I have pictures clearly illustrating that this was done. The running of the engine while in gear would damage the gears to the point of ruin. I haven't an idea of how much damage has already been done to the gears but I am sure there is some.

Desired Outcome

I want a complete refund for the work done. I also want the gear oil leak fixed by someone other than the person that worked on my engine or Quickie marine pay for this work to be done by another boat mechanic of my choosing. I also want an assessment of gear damage done from the inadequate lubrication to be done at no expense to me.

This was my experience I was over charged for services, sold used parts, lied to and put in danger. On January 11th, 2017, *** owner of QUICKIE MARINE and his mechanic *** picked up my Grady White Boat at my private lot, then they did an inspection on the boat to conclude that it needed over 13 items to be repaired. So, I agreed to move forward with the repairs and a set timely the boat would be completed. I was guaranteed that the boat would be ready to roll and in the water before summer 2017. Three months into it only one item was fix the fiberglass work that was contracted out to a different vendor. On April 20, 2017 two items were completed, after that point the boat just set outside of the parking lot with many other boats and the excuses began. All personal excuses, others of only having one mechanic and him not been reliable, *** thinking about shutting down the business etc. again not my problem I had already paid him 50% of what was not even close to be done. By the end of June 2017, *** "owner" assured me my boat would be done on July 4th,17 to give him some time because he is having issues with his mechanic choosing what jobs he wants to do according to how much they pay, so in other words if you prepaid him and a new job comes in then he will work on the new business and put the prepaid boats aside. After multiple visits to the shop to check on my boat's progress my disappointment and frustration began, to see that there it was another week untouched, outside and uncovered. In addition, one of my new seats was torn, the inside of the boat was filthy not how it was giving to them. After spending seven thousand dollars, you would think that something was done. ***'s lack of communication, unrealistic timelines, requested prepayment for work that he knew was not going to be done was unethical. Furthermore, *** sold my motor and convince me that he would build me a better motor, the better motor's current condition is not working, has lose headbults, gas leaks, disconnected steering, install an incorrect motor control, is overheating, and to top it off the motor has unpaid back taxes, not to mention not registered under his name or the business name. After eight months of having my boat, all he sold me was an incomplete and dangerous motor that would have cause me to be left stranded and even killed. I removed my boat on August 5th, Now I find out the motor has a Lien on it.
