Quiet Oaks Campground Reviews (9)

January 6, 2016Dear [redacted] ***: This is to advise you that I represent Carla and David F [redacted] and their ownership of the Quiet Oaks Campgrounds in Cross Fork, PaI understand that there was a complaint filed by [redacted] concerning a reservation for a cabin at the campgroundThe situation is that the [redacted] Race, hosted by the [redacted] Riders has been held every year at the Quiet Oaks Campground since This is a national race with professional ridersIt is always held on the last weekend of July which is always the fourth (4th) weekend of JulyUnfortunately, in July of there are five (5) weekends and the campground mistakenly believed that the race would be held at the campground on the last weekend of JulyIn fact, the organization decided to hold the race on the fourth (4th) weekend of July in The owners always keep this weekend reserved for the entire National Organization.Incorrectly believing that the fourth (4th) weekend of July was available, the campground and the owners received a call from [redacted] on December 6, and accepted a reservation at the [redacted] cabin, which is one of the two (2) cabins which the National Organization uses to hold their meetingsOn December 15, 2015, just nine (9) days later, the campground realized their error and immediately contacted [redacted] and advised her that her reservation was being cancelled due to the errorHer sixty ($60.00) dollar deposit was also immediately refunded [redacted] was completely uncooperative and demanded that she be given the cabin for that weekendIn order to try to please [redacted] , an alternate cabin, which is owned by the campground and which is three (3) miles from the site, was offered to her and she refused to accept itThe [redacted] cabin is not available for the weekend of July 25, [redacted] went on [redacted] on the Campground Review Section and wrote def*tory remarks about Quiet Oaks Campgrounds and their owners. The campground regrets this unfortunate mistake, which was immediately corrected, before any d***ge or loss occurred to [redacted] The campground is located in a very rural area of Clinton County, Pennsylvania and there is limited alternate housing available because the National Organization brings five hundred (500) racers, who race dirt bikes through the Woods, for national recognition, points and financial rewards. Thus, we hope that you can see that a very limited error occurred which was immediately corrected and that you support the position of the campground in responding to [redacted] Thank you for your attention to this matterVery truly yours,

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The business owners and their legal representative are now making accusations and have threatened me I understand this was an inadvertent mistake and had I been treated with the slightest bit of respect and kindness we might be in a different situation The response from Quiet Oaks Campground on January 18, accuses me being belligerent and states I was treated with respect, both of which are false When I spoke with Carla about my reservation she was disrespectful and rude When I asked why my reservation was not being honored after they had taken my deposit she raised her voice and spoke over me when I tried to ask questions She ended the conversation by hanging up on me while I was still asking about the situation I do not consider this being treated with respect Furthermore, [redacted] and his clients have threatened to sue me for libel, a threat for which they have no grounds since you can not sue someone for libel if they simply stated true facts which is what I have done to the Revdex.com and in my review I have the freedom of speech and it seems [redacted] and his clients have resorted to making threats in an effort to dismiss this factual information Furthermore, [redacted] states that I received a refund check, which I have not, so he is calling me a liar Again, this does not seem to me like I am being treated respectfully as [redacted] claims Continuing, [redacted] claims that I am trying to cause harm and disrupt the campground and the national organization that puts on these events, nothing could be further from the truth I am a supporter of the [redacted] and the *** I have made no efforts to harm the campground, I have only requested that my reservation be honored which seems reasonable and now I don't even want that as I have no desire to give my business to anyone who treats a customer this way Now, according to the latest response, I am being told I can't even attend and support the event - which does cause harm to the [redacted] as there are multiple riders I support who won't be able to attend if I'm not permitted on the property to provide support services for them Lastly, please note that I was never asked what the purpose of my reservation was or why I would be in the area - had someone inquired I would have let them know it was for the [redacted] event I did not know prior to my reservation that the entire campground would be unavailable for this event, if I had known this I clearly would not have been making a reservation When I did make my reservation, the [redacted] schedule was publicly posted and I had no way of knowing that Quiet Oaks had made a mistake in their scheduling/availabilityAt this point, since I have no desire to stay at the campground and give them my business, I will settle for the following resolution which I think is reasonable and fair: - Quiet Oaks Campground refunds my credit card for amount of my deposit - The Revdex.com recognizes that Quiet Oaks Campground has failed to honor a valid reservation - The Revdex.com notes business's behavior, reports it to anyone who inquires, and keeps a record of this in case other customers are treated this way in the future - Quiet Oaks Campground, Lee R [redacted] , [redacted] ***, and any and all other parties acknowledge that I did not in any way slander them or commit libel by posting a review with factual information and my opinions on the way I was treated - Quiet Oaks Campground agrees to allow me on the premises for the [redacted] event and all future ***/ [redacted] events to support my riders and/or participate in the event with the agreement that during the event I will be sure to have no contact with the F*s and they agree not to harass me as well -Quiet Oaks Campground publicly responds to my review apologizing for the error and admitting their mistake (this will likely boost their ratings anyway as it has been my experience that people who typically look at reviews appreciate a response from business owners, even if they made a mistake, admitting it and apologizing for it) Regards, [redacted]

January 18, 2016Ladies and Gentlemen:As you are aware, I represent the Quiet Oaks Campground and Dave and Carla F [redacted] who are the owners of the campgroundI read the reply of [redacted] and I find that her attitude and demeanor concerning this relatively small matter is highly inflammatoryYou must understand that [redacted] was treated with the greatest respect possible and in spite of trying to work with her she became more belligerent as solutions were suggested. The campground wants you to understand that the weekend that was inadvertently booked has been continuously made available to the national organization since It is clear that [redacted] is trying to subvert the campgrounds continuous and regular relationship with the national organization to further her own individual interests in disrupting the organization and the campgroundThe campground will not let this occur. Please make it perfectly clear to [redacted] that she has no reservation at the campground and she is not to present herself on the premises in any fashion or she will be considered a trespasserFurther, a check was returned to her as a refund and she has chosen not to cash itWe have no control over her choices, but we can assure you that a check was sent to her and she has received it.We hope that your organization will put an end to this completely ridiculous and absurd obsession of [redacted] to try to disrupt the campground and the national organization, which has established certain standards and operating procedures in order to conduct the national raceIf [redacted] knew that the race was going to be in the fourth week of July instead of the fifth Week of July, she should have made it clear that this was the reason that she was reserving the cabinIf she had made this clear the cabin would not have been made available to her in the first placeThere is no way that a delay of a few days in December for an end of July event has caused her any harmShe is trying to cause harm to others, but we are not going to allow this to occur. We would again appreciate your support in this matter.Very truly yours,

I am rejecting this response because:  The business owners and their legal representative are now making false accusations and have threatened me.  I understand this was an inadvertent mistake and had I been treated with the slightest bit of respect and kindness we might be in a different situation.  The response from Quiet Oaks Campground on January 18, 2016 accuses me being belligerent and states I was treated with respect, both of which are false.  When I spoke with Carla about my reservation she was disrespectful and rude.  When I asked why my reservation was not being honored after they had taken my deposit she raised her voice and spoke over me when I tried to ask questions.  She ended the conversation by hanging up on me while I was still asking about the situation.  I do not consider this being treated with respect.  Furthermore, [redacted] and his clients have threatened to sue me for libel, a threat for which they have no grounds since you can not sue someone for libel if they simply stated true facts which is what I have done to the Revdex.com and in my review.  I have the freedom of speech and it seems [redacted] and his clients have resorted to making threats in an effort to dismiss this factual information.  Furthermore, [redacted] states that I received a refund check, which I have not, so he is calling me a liar.  Again, this does not seem to me like I am being treated respectfully as [redacted] claims.  Continuing, [redacted] claims that I am trying to cause harm and disrupt the campground and the national organization that puts on these events, nothing could be further from the truth.  I am a supporter of the [redacted] and the [redacted].  I have made no efforts to harm the campground, I have only requested that my reservation be honored which seems reasonable and now I don't even want that as I have no desire to give my business to anyone who treats a customer this way.  Now, according to the latest response, I am being told I can't even attend and support the event - which does cause harm to the [redacted] as there are multiple riders I support who won't be able to attend if I'm not permitted on the property to provide support services for them.  Lastly, please note that I was never asked what the purpose of my reservation was or why I would be in the area - had someone inquired I would have let them know it was for the [redacted] event.  I did not know prior to my reservation that the entire campground would be unavailable for this event, if I had known this I clearly would not have been making a reservation.  When I did make my reservation, the [redacted] schedule was publicly posted and I had no way of knowing that Quiet Oaks had made a mistake in their scheduling/availability.At this point, since I have no desire to stay at the campground and give them my business, I will settle for the following resolution which I think is reasonable and fair:- Quiet Oaks Campground refunds my credit card for amount of my deposit - The Revdex.com recognizes that Quiet Oaks Campground has failed to honor a valid reservation- The Revdex.com notes business's behavior, reports it to anyone who inquires, and keeps a record of this in case other customers are treated this way in the future- Quiet Oaks Campground, Lee R[redacted], and any and all other parties acknowledge that I did not in any way slander them or commit libel by posting a review with factual information and my opinions on the way I was treated- Quiet Oaks Campground agrees to allow me on the premises for the [redacted] event and all future [redacted] events to support my riders and/or participate in the event with the agreement that during the event I will be sure to have no contact with the F[redacted]s and they agree not to harass me as well-Quiet Oaks Campground publicly responds to my review apologizing for the error and admitting their mistake (this will likely boost their ratings anyway as it has been my experience that people who typically look at reviews appreciate a response from business owners, even if they made a mistake, admitting it and apologizing for it)

Further, a check was returned to her as a refund and she has chosen not to cash it. If [redacted] knew that the race was going to be in the fourth week of July instead of the fifth Week of July, she should have made it clear that this was the reason that she was reserving the cabin. If she had made this clear the cabin would not have been made available to her in the first place. At this point, since I have no desire to stay at the campground and give them my business, I will settle for the following resolution which I think is reasonable and fair:
- Quiet Oaks Campground refunds my credit card for amount of my deposit
- The Revdex.com recognizes that Quiet Oaks Campground has failed to honor a valid reservation
- The Revdex.com notes business's behavior, reports it to anyone who inquires, and keeps a record of this in case other customers are treated this way in the future
- Quiet Oaks Campground, Lee R[redacted], [redacted], and any and all other parties acknowledge that I did not in any way slander them or commit libel by posting a review with factual information and my opinions on the way I was treated
- Quiet Oaks Campground agrees to allow me on the premises for the [redacted] event and all future [redacted] events to support my riders and/or participate in the event with the agreement that during the event I will be sure to have no contact with the F[redacted]s and they agree not to harass me as well
-Quiet Oaks Campground publicly responds to my review apologizing for the error and admitting their mistake (this will likely boost their ratings anyway as it has been my experience that people who typically look at reviews appreciate a response from business owners, even if they made a mistake, admitting it and apologizing for it)
