I purchased the backpack at the Quicksilver store in the *** *** *** *** in ***, California.*** *** St, ***, CA *** ***I do not have the receipt anymore!

a separate transaction. We only accept returns via mail for items purchased online. If an item was purchased at a retail location the return must be made there and those instructions/policies are determined by the store. The Policy states the following on our website “Returns via mail will ONLY be accepted for online or phone purchases. All purchases made in store must be returned in store”   As you purchased this product on 5/25/2014 we would have been unable to accept any return after 6/25/2014 at our online store. We do have this policy listed on our website “Pursuant to the terms set forth below, Quiksilver will provide refunds to customers who return products via U.S. Mail unworn and unwashed, in their original condition and packaging (if any), with the tags still attached within 30 days from the date of an online purchase at a Brand’s official e-commerce site.” We are also not able to issue any cash for gift cards at any time. If the amount of your Gift Card is for MORE than the total order amount, the balance will be stored on your Gift Card for future use. Gift Cards are non-transferable, non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash. Thank you [redacted].com

We apologize that the zippers on the Quiksilver backpack you purchased three years ago were defective and...

would like to work with you on getting this replaced.  The incident stated that you purchased the backpack at our Quiksilver store at [redacted] 3 years ago, but this is a new store that opened in June 2014 and has been open for less than a year.  Since you don’t have a receipt, we can’t tell what style number, name and color the backpack is and which store it was purchased at, but if you take it back to our Del Amo store and ask for the manager on duty, or call the store at [redacted] to schedule a visit, we will work with you right away on replacing the backpack for the $60 value you purchased it at a few years ago.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I just stopped by the store and found a backpack for USD 45 which was exchanged without further discussion. That was much better customer service than what I initially experienced. I consider this complaint resolved.
