Letter sent to the consumer from business:10/25/16Ms. [redacted] ,I received your letter and I’m disappointed that you are not happy with the driveway you received. It does not seem appropriate at this time to re-hash the dug well that was found when we removed your existing driveway. It was unfortunate... to find the dug well, but couldn’t be foreseen by either party. You contracted to have a Type III Course Binder driveway installed and received that product. However your complaint regarding a low spot in the area that we repaired is something I would be happy to repair. We just finished the hottest, driest, summer in 30 years. I can understand how a loaded contractor’s van could have made an indentation in fresh asphalt. I will have my men repair the damage your electrical contractor caused, free of charge to you, just as we did with your original complaint.I would also be happy to give you a discounted price on top coating the entire driveway early next season, but will not refund your money for the product you contracted with us and subsequently received. Sincerely,Lawrence Quinn

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 1[redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Tge response from the business does not address my issue. Mr. Quinn references the dug well that was found when the old blacktop was removed. This could not be foreseen by either his workers or myself. I do not hold him responsible for that. What I hold him responsible for is how Vaughan, his employee chose to resolve the well after it was found. I paid $700 additional to have the well filled with stone. Vaughan told me that that was the best method to resolve the well. This was then blacktopped over. Within one month, the driveway collapsed in that spot which meant that filling the well with stone was not the proper way to correct this. When Vaughan came to look at this sink hole, he told me that now they would fill it with more stone and patch this. Periodically they would stop by and throw more blacktop on it. When I rejected this as a resolution, he became very offensive to the point that I asked him to leave my property. I immediately called and left a message for Mr. Quinn. I called again in a couple hours and spoke to him directly. He told me he would put a steel plate over the well and patch over that which he did. I let the patch cure longer because it was so hot. Even after two weeks when someone parked on it, it left an indentation because the patch was not as solid as the rest of the driveway. The other three tires did not leave indentations. i paid a premium price for a new driveway surface. Because of the inadequate method of dealing with the well in the first place, I have a driveway with a beautiful g patch in it which will always be apparent because of the cut lip that surrounds it and the mismatch of product used. This is not what I contracted for. From  his response, I see that Mr. Quinn accepts no responsibility for the poor quality of the driveway and patch that his company installed at my house or for the bad decisions that were made by his employee that created this situation. The only way to resolve this is to top coat the driveway. I do not accept his offer to give me a discount to have him do this. First of all, I would not have to have this done if the job had been done properly and I do not trust that the work that he would do would be if acceptable quality in light of what I have experienced with his company. In the least, I would think that Mr. Quinn should refund the premium I paid to resolve the dug well since his method of doing so has created this mess in my driveway.Regards,
