Quinn's Home Improvement Reviews (7)

Review: I have a set of Lifetime Warranty Replacement windows in my home that were installed by Quinn's Home Improvement. We have already had 3 replaced due to the gas inside the windows failing and becoming foggy. It took his company 2 months to finally get around to replacing the 3. A fourth window has failed and I contacted Quinn on August 19th, 2015 over the phone. He asked that I send him photos via text of the window so he could see for himself. I sent him the photos immediately on 8/19/2015. I then wrote and called him back on 8/25/2015 with no response. I then wrote and called him again on 9/1/2015 with no response. I have called 5 seperate times since then, leaving a Voicemail each time. The last time I called was today, 11/18/2015 None of my calls or texts have ever been returned. All I am wanting is for him to replace my Lifetime Warranty windows that his company installed.Desired Settlement: All I am asking is that Quinn contact me about his company replacing the windows that have a LIFETIME WARRANTY that his company originally installed. I have not even received a phone call or text from him in over 3 months.

Review: Quinn's installed a chain link fence on my property on August 6th. After the installation was complete, we noticed that the top of the fence was very uneven, with some parts being roughly one inch above the rail while in other places it was two to three inches above the rail. Also the bottom wire, which was supposed to add stability and strengthen the overall fence was extremely loose. We contacted the owner and after a week he came out to look. He agreed that the fence was unsightly and needed to be fixed. After waiting a month for a team to show up, I contacted the company again by email and was told the fence installer was still on vacation, but we were the first project to be done when he returns. After several more emails and a couple of phone calls, a team finally arrived on the 3rd of October, spent some time with me, but were not prepared to deal with the repairs that needed to be done. The owner did send an email to me on the 8th of OCtober to inform me that his crew is working on a faulty chimney and he will email me when they will be finished and then we can set a time. Today is the 30th of OCtober and as of today, no email to set a time, no returned phone calls, no returned emails. No contact with me for the past 3 weeks to let me know what is going on and when my fence will be repaired.Desired Settlement: I would like the fence fixed. Barring that, they can come and take it out and I would request a full refund.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

One issue was resolved, the issue of the wavy fence top. The company fixed that issue and that issue alone. Still pending is the bottom wire that is very loose and needs to be tightened. This wire was supposed to add strength and integrity to the fence, and in its current state cannot accomplish that. Also the double gate needs to be addressed as the owner said it would be. The person that fixed the top told me that he would be out two days from then and fix the bottom. It is not fixed.

Review: We had Quinn's Home Improvement install seamless leaf free gutters on our property and when we have a heavy rain the water comes rushing down over the gutters onto our porch and floods our porch. We have contacted Quinn's at least once per year since the gutters were installed and they have attempted to remedy the problem by bending the gutters or cleaning the gutters to no avail. I have inspected the gutters and there is a dip in the area where they run over. Quinn's needs to remove the gutters and install NEW gutters properly to avoid water damage in my basement and further stress on the retaining wall between my property and the neighbor's property.Desired Settlement: Remove improperly installed gutters and install new gutters properly.

Response:

Quinn's Home Improvement is in the process of validating the customer's Gutter purchase and warranty information.

The customer states that the purchase was made in 2008.

The customer states that our company has been out there several times in the last 7 years in order to try to satisfy him.

Our intention is to continue to move in that direction once we verify his purchase information.

The customer hasn't contacted our business in 2014 with any complaints.

Once we locate his information we will contact him unless he contacts us first.

Thank you for your time and your patience,

Quinn's Home Improvement

Quinn has not made any corrections as of today. He said he would come to look at my gutters one day this week. The best times for me would be Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.

Response:

The materials have been ordered and should be in by next week. I will be there by July 31 to make the corrections.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. He did make repairs. I don't think it will work but we will see. If it does, good. If not, he will have to try something else. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: Quinn Hershberger made an agreement and received substantial down payment for mold abatement in my elderly mother's home. He did not complete the mold abatement but he did remove all copper plumbing, all copper electrical wiring and a complete boiler system. Not sure how he thought he could do this without anyone noticing. He was fired and it cost well over $30,000 to fix what was priced at $18,000 for mold abatement. So add the $18,000 to the $30,000 and that is what is cost to hire Quinn Hershberber. Do not hire this company. You will only be ripped off. There is no contractors license with this company. You can check this out. You will find that his contractor's license has been revoked and he has multiple legal charges for this. If you do decide to hire this company do work for you DO NOT give them a downpayment.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the extra $30,000 it cost to replace with inferior products what was removed from my mother's house. Quinn agreed to pay this back in Jan., 2013 as of Aug.4, 2013 we have not seen one penny of repayment.

Response to the 09/30/2013 Problems with Product/Service:

Quinn's Home Improvement is a Class B Licensed Contractor. The individual filing the complaint and our company have been to court in order to settle this issue. We aren't at liberty to discuss the arrangements, but this issue was resolved in court.

Quinn's Home Improvements installed a new deck for us that is 2 stories high in June 2013. It took just a few days for the guys to build the deck. We are enjoying it especially now in the Spring weather.

We hired Quinn's Home Solutions to replace the roof on our church. We were so impressed with them, that we then hired him to replace our roof. I have been in construction for the past 40 years, and I have never seen such dedication of workers, efficient, timely, and polite. We were extremely pleased with Quinn's and would definitely recommend them to our friends and colleagues.

Review: QUINN gave me an on site estimate on 7/26/13; to repair my back porch roof, that was attached to my mobile home. Causing damage due to excessive rain to my kitchen ceiling. On 8/29/13, I printed, signed and delivered a contract to the QUINN's office @ stated address. Paid the $100 fee to expedite the contract; and was told an appointment would be set. On 9/11/13 @ 7:10 AM three guys showed up without any prior notice of their coming. (I needed the job done) At 7:40 AM they were getting in the van to leave. I stopped them and inquired as to them being finished; the driver replied YES. OK (I asked the guy to meet me around the back). Only the top of the red ripple shaped roof top that went beyond the porch had been sealed. My roof is grey and they put white sealant around which is now an eye sore. He called Quinn and he gave me his number and I spoke to Quinn. He went on to tell me about the $150.00 cost of the sealant (they did not apply that amount to my roof) and what it would do. About how long these guys had worked for him. None of which completed the JOB. The contract stated (and most important to do the job) SEAL TOP OF BACK PORCH WHERE IT MEETS HOME ROOF. I asked Quinn to come and look at what was NOT DONE. To this day 9/15/13 Quinn has not contacted me one way or the other.Desired Settlement: Refund my $100 fee to help pay someone to get the job done. The half hour not completing the job of sealing the porch to the roof (with a pint of sealant) does not warrant the $100 I paid.

Hi [redacted], The roof crew had only done stage one of a 3 part process to her home. When she called I told her that I would also come by and I did several times. I knocked on the door (front and back) and although her vehicle was there she did not come to the door. I have also called her numerous times and have left messages and have not gotten an answer nor a return call. At this time I am not sure what to do next if the customer will not communicate with me. Thanks! Quinn

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The CREW as he calls them never said anything to me about a three part job. QUINN never mentioned this when I spoke to him on the phone that morning of 9/11/13. This is my first ever hearing about any steps. If you look at the picture sent earlier to Revdex.com, you can truly see that the white sealant would be a completed stage in doing a roof attached to a porch. The line across the red curvy shingle is where the leak is occurring into my kitchen and attaches to the roof under the shingles. That would be the first point of any step to stop the leak for which I discussed with QUINN and willing to pay to get the job done. By no means, of any imagination does what they did cost the price charged. I would appreciate the return of my deposit. I am on disability and could not afford the cost but I had to get the roof fixed. QUINN wanting to steal from me; (or anybody else) is low down and ruthless. The CREW was at my house from 7:10 AM thru 7:40 AM without my prior knowledge of their arrival. The job could have been completed that morning as I had to stop them from leaving. QUINN their boss; so they left, not mentioning returning of any kind to finish any STEPS. It took QUINN until 9/16/13 (several days later) to come knocking on my door. Just because my vehicle is parked does not mean I’m home. At that point his chance was over - I HIRED SOMEONE ELSE TO REPAIRED MY ROOF – 9/26/13. MY COMPLAINT STILL STANDS -10/10/13 - [redacted] THANK YOU - Revdex.com

Response to the 11/27/2013 Problems with Product/Service:

The customer signed and delivered the contract as well as her deposit $100.00 on 8/29/2013. The job was to start in 2 weeks. Our workman went out on the job 9/11/2013. In order to not inconvenience the customer isn't required to be there when a roofing job is being done. The workman were at her property for less than an hour because they were doing the "Seal" or primer as described on her contract. The "Seal" or primer would need to dry before anything else could be done. They were done for the day and would return to complete the job as per the contract. There was a piece of roofing to be replaced and "sealant" or finished coat to be applied over the

roof and the "Seal" or primer as per the contract. Quinn called a couple times to re-explain the process which was on the contract the customer signed however she cancelled her contract 9/16/2014. She wanted a refund however Quinn's Home Solutions had already invested time and effort to start her project. Quinn made several attempts to contact and complete the job. She already decided she wanted to go with someone else by 9/26/2013. Perhaps she had gotten a better deal. We are not sure what really happened here but the balance on the contract would be $409.00. We can't force her to let us do the work however a contract is binding. We tried to call her several times to attempt completion of the work. The customer decided not to allow us to continue the work on her home.

Below is the verbiage on her contract:

Seal Porch Roof on back Porch & Sides

Install New:

o Seal on Both Sides of Back Porch

o Seal Top Section of Back Porch where it meets home roof

o lnstall Sealant on Roofing we Replace

o Seal Gutter Ends that meet Back Porch

o Complete Labor & Material

o Warranty will be Mailed after Completion and Paid in Full

o Clean up and Haul Away Trash

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

All of my responses state the fact that the work was not completed by no means to any imagination. Yes I did HIRE someone else to do the job, simply because none of the Installation/repair process was done. If you look on the picture sent to Revdex.com in September 2013; its clear to see only white sealant at the top of the red roof had been applied. None of the following was done:

Seal on Both Sides of Back Porch. (not done)

Seal top section of Back Porch where it meets home roof. (not done)

Install sealant on Roofing. We (they were to) Replace (not done)

Seal Gutter Ends that meet Back Porch. (not done)

Complete Labor & Material. (only sealant was used)

Warranty will be Mailed after Completion and Paid in Full. (not completed & no payment is due)

Clean up and Haul Away Trash. (no trash to be hauled away) took their sealant with them

The enclosed picture shows the NEW HIREE standing in the spot where the red roof continues up on the roof (red roof piece that was taken behind man) in picture #1. I currently have red roofing that New HIREE removed. QUINN did not remove any Red roofing; therefore the sides were not sealed (#1). In front of broom and red roof is where house is attached (#2). No roof was added or replaced (#3). (#1 and #4) can be joined because they are the same place alongside the roof. (#5, 6, &7) speaks for themselves (NO WORK WAS DONE).

Once I hired some else to complete a job QUINN received a partial payment for, ($100) QUINN no longer was worthy of the job nor my money. Again I reiterate, their arrival on 9/11/13 was not prescheduled; and it is MY BIRTHDATE. We never discussed any subsequent days of return to due work in stages.

I am on disability because of a kidney transplant and have no money to throw away on SCAMMERS. That $100 could have gone toward my monthly MEDS that I have to take for the rest of my life. Not toward QUINN's enrichment. He will reap what he has sown. "GOD is watching

I've not asked Revdex.com to contacted QUINN, therefore he needs to leave me alone. Check or no check THIS IS OVER - $100 is not a get rich amount. "GODS" got my back.

Response:

Our response to the initial complaint made by this customer was not intended to resolve the "issue" as much as it was an explanation regarding "the complaint". The customer decided that after we were one day into the job that she didn't want to do business with us. She didn't give us the opportunity to even do the job much less make a bad impression. Our company, after trying to resolve the customer's concerns and after she made it plain and clear she had someone else in mind to do the work, walked away from the contract with the deposit as partial compensation. We did not do any other work because she didn't want to do business with us. That is fine. Our company has moved on however the customer chose to place her "issues" on the Revdex.com website. Our company must respond. Please contact this customer to let her know that we aren't trying to mess with her or contact her regarding this "issue". We are trying to clear up "issues" on the Revdex.com. Thank you for your help and understanding in handling delicately this customer, [redacted].

If Quinn is a mind reader, psychic or attached to my brain, they can not say what my intentions are. PLEASE do not respond with anymore more supposed ( words all in the right (WRONG) place to make them look good. QUINN did not start the job to my satisfaction therefore they were not going to continue. RIGHT is RIGHT and I am through. The job is only completed at this time to have stopped the leak into my kitchen roof. NO THANKS TO QUINN. And it only took a few hour not days.
