Quirt Family Dentistry, S.C.

I visited Quirt Family Dentistry in Plover, WI for a routine cleaning. I had asked about the Invisalign procedure as I have noticed my teeth shift slightly since I last had braces. I mentioned to the Dental Assistant that I had braces approximately 12 years ago and am still under my fathers insurance. I also mentioned that I was not sure if he still had the same insurance or if it had changed since then. The Dental Assistant mentioned they could contact my insurance provider to see if it would be covered. She came back with an estimate that stated my insurance would cover $2,960.00. The procedure typically cost $3,700.00. With the amount covered by my insurance the amount remaining would be $740. They mentioned if I agreed to the procedure that same day they would be able to take off the additional $740 as they had a promotion going on the previous week that they could still use. As the total amount then came to $0.00, I agreed. A few weeks later, after I had already started the Invisalign procedure, I received a Claim Receipt from my insurance provider stating they would only cover $14.60 and I would owe $2,945.40. I contacted Quirt, obviously concerned, and was told I have two options. I could either continue the procedure and pay the total amount, $2,945.40, or stop the procedure and pay $764.40 to cover the lab work that was done. As Quirt had told me my insurance would cover $2,960.00 I was very upset and frustrated. As there were issues with the billing, Quirt later told me that I could continue the procedure and pay the $764.40 to cover the lab work. As I feel I have been lied to and treated unfairly, I cancelled the procedure. I would advise anyone dealing with Quirt to do so with caution.
