Clerk was reprimanded for agreeing with customers statementBattery showed signs of wear along the pressure fit ring and our policy is
clearly stated on the receipt that we do not accept returns or provide replacements for non defective productsHad the customer spoke with a manager instead of leaving and filing a complaint before we could possibly correct the situation is unfortunateWe understand frustration when things go awry but not allowing us an opportunity to try and rectify his issue and file a complaint reflect poorly on us as I'm sure we could have come up with a reasonable remedy

I'm not sure what "the clerk was reprimanded" means or if that's supposed to pacify me in some wayAnd if the lady standing next to the clerk when I initially came in with this problem is the manager, then I guess this problem could've been resolved on the spot and I would've avoided contacting this office*** Why didn't she step in and make an effort to resolve this problem right then and there?
It's not like I'm never in that store as I'm there once a week and I didn't opt for a receipt for that very fact
I guess I'll "eat" the cost of this battery and purchase a new one on my own as I really have no choice as it deters me from using tobacco
I'm not going to press this matter any further as I can clearly see that this is going no where and I'm not interested in showing this business in a bad lightI've always made it a point to support local small businessesBut perhaps they could work on their "people skills" a bit
